QUOTE(olly @ Jun 25 2018, 09:12 AM) Bro, this is cheap wondering how the sales can get so much cheaper than official price because im thinking get the trunk spoiler and LED sidesteep im in ipoh branch. I believe they source the Modulo parts somewhere else and just install it in-house, so they can charge a much lower rate than the official Honda one. Ultimately they look the same so I figured I’d go with what my SA offered! You should ask your branch if they provide similar services, some do it since they get a bigger cut than doing it the official way. |

QUOTE(KingArthurVI @ Jun 23 2018, 05:05 PM) Visited Kah Motor Penang today to meet with Public Bank loan officer, 70k loan for 5 years at 2.46% p.a. interest rate, not sure can get approved or not since I'm freelancing for US companies recently only came back to Malaysia since April, so not a whole lot of local pay history, worst case pay cash upfront. My car ETA is mid July. Update: sports pedal RM150. Not bad at all. Also confirmed with my SA the OTR without insurance cost of my modern steel metallic TC-P is RM122,931 after 0% GST and Raya rebate. On top of that he offered the following accessories: - Modulo wing/trunk spoiler — RM750 - Modulo LED sidestep — RM450 - Modulo door visor (with chrome lining at top he said, original no chrome lining?) — RM350 - Trunk tray — RM160 - Door protector film — RM260 - HyperGard tinting front 95%, side and rear 80% TSR — RM1,700 - GM-Tech premium diamond coating (is this the same as ceramic pro?) — RM1,700 I'm thinking of getting all of these and sports pedal (he's checking price before quoting me that), is this a good idea? I've never heard of HyperGard (seems like a local brand) and GM-Tech (local brand also) but both the tinting and coating come with 5 year local warranty. Would still love to hear if anyone has experience with HyperGard and GM-Tech |

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Jun 25 2018, 09:40 AM) GG la so cheap. I'll still go with my SA since he's a good fella and might as well have them do everything together in one go (I also get RM75 discount if I do everything on the list with them so effectively roughly the same). |

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Jun 25 2018, 11:56 AM) Bro I've asked around but to no avail, but have you heard of HyperGard tinting and GM-Tech coating? lol. SA quoting me 1.7k for each of those installations, both local companies I think and both come with 5 year local warranty. Not sure if they're worth the risk. |

QUOTE(RichardN @ Jun 25 2018, 12:29 PM) Bro check out this earlier post, I suggest you to get the Huper Optik instead just add RM 100. Thanks bro, I'll ask my SA if they do offer the big 3 brands or not, I was under the impression they're going to be 2k and above! Thanks.Vkool, 3M and HU is one of those top brand compare to any local brands QUOTE(moolastrikes @ Jun 25 2018, 12:31 PM) No idea, but I already booked CQuartz Professional from Waxson. Like their service and products. My previous car went for Permanon Diamond coating 6 years ago and it is still shiny like a new car. Thanks for your input, I'll give 3M a serious consideration. My car's arriving mid July too! Fun times. You should check them out, http://waxson.com/home/. As for tint, I'm also going back to 3M. Their tints are great stuff fro my past experience. Can't wait for my new ride to arrive next month. |

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Jun 25 2018, 12:44 PM) Is there any risk to that? If you are really really not anal about the paintwork. I think it is more or less the same shit. Bulk of the costs are actually with the detailing rather than the costs of the coating in my opinion. Has anyone really done different brand coated cars side by side or even compared a coated car to a non coated but properly washed and maintained one? If you are really hardworking. You can save those money and buy a bottle of those glass or ceramic coat and do it yourself right after you run a pass or two of polishing through your properly washed car. https://www.lazada.com.my/catalog/?_keyori=....48e072f1j49YsN https://www.lazada.com.my/catalog/?_keyori=....41e94296NBv8zm Expected costs for DIY, no more than RM500. Is the results better or the same as professional coating? Beats me, but you saved RM1.2k. Tinting wise, it is up to you la. Never heard of the brand. Hard to say. There are other mid tier brands that you can opt for in those price range. Think about it. QUOTE(moolastrikes @ Jun 25 2018, 01:05 PM) As for coating or tinting or whatever, the workmanship of the shop is my priority. Any shops can use expensive product but if the shop workers cincai detail your car like crap, better do it myself. Thanks bros, you're both right that the risk is relatively minimal going with brand as compared to workmanship. I have faith in my service branch as they're doing all the stuff in-house (they showed me their workshop beside the dealership), so I'll just go ahead and let them handle everything, after all 5 year warranty is pretty good I think.but... I'm so lazy to do DIY detailing for the past couple of years. Just wanna hop in and drive with the little precious free time i get during weekends instead of detailing. QUOTE(RichardN @ Jun 25 2018, 12:57 PM) Nooo sorry haha, I thought you meant July. |

QUOTE(minibeany @ Jun 26 2018, 12:25 AM) touching any wiring can be consider void warranty. i asked my SA the same question for the side step. Weird. I just phoned my SA after seeing your post he said it's just a "plug-and-play" module and they won't tinker with the actual wiring, not sure how much of that is true—now you're just making me anxious |

I talked to my SA before I booked and he said they'll honor the 1.5k Raya rebate regardless, so here's hoping that is indeed the case.
Side question for folks with TC-P, is it possible to have the Garmin navigation going but muted, and CarPlay music (Spotify etc) going at the same time? Also how does auto headlamp leveling work? I see TC-P doesn't have the headlight level adjuster This post has been edited by KingArthurVI: Jul 2 2018, 02:43 PM |

QUOTE(isr25 @ Jul 2 2018, 06:45 PM) Yes you can play carplay music while using Garmin Navigation going. But muted I’m not too sure. You can reduce the navigation volume yes, but i can’t be sure if it’ll reduce the volume of carplay music when there is a navigation direction even if it’s muted. Will test it out tomorrow. Phew, I was initially worried about being unable to use Garmin navigation together with CarPlay since they both come out of the same speaker from different input sources. Thanks bro Auto headlight levelling works automatically on the TCP. It won’t be fast enough for it to be noticeable when you go up and down speedbumps though. It’s not listed anywhere, but I’m guessing it’s designed more like the headlight level adjuster on non-tcp civics - depending on your boot, passengers etc. You can read more about the headlight adjustment on non-tcp civics in the FAQs. |

Phew finally got my loan approved by Public Bank... took 5 full business days which seemed unusually long but with the demand lately I'm not surprised.
2.46% p.a. for RM70k loan @ 5 years, but I plan to settle after 2-3 years and get the rebate. Cutting it quite close since my car ETA is in about 2 weeks This post has been edited by KingArthurVI: Jul 3 2018, 11:57 AM |

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Jul 3 2018, 12:04 PM) Maybe your credit line not good? Haha actually not credit line not good, rather there's no credit history at all since I was studying and working in the U.S. and recently came back in April. I'm working as a freelancer which doesn't help things since I don't have official pay slips, only invoices issued to clients and bank statement to prove that they're indeed paid out to me.Or the banks are taking more steps now before approving any loans as there will be a sudden influx of loans over the 2 months It is either one that usually causes the delay if it was not submitted late The bank officer had a shitty attitude which certainly didn't help as well. My dad was asked to be my guarantor and was asked to give his pay slips and even EPF statement which seemed excessive Anyway just glad this ordeal is finally taken care of. Now I can look forward to my car in 2 weeks' time |

QUOTE(Beach_Boy @ Jul 3 2018, 12:10 PM) guarantor(s) are treated the same as the person who'll take up the loan, the bank needs to know if the guarantor can afford the loan, therefore a full documentation is required I concur, but the coincidence is that my mum who is not working is also getting a new car under her name and my dad is also a guarantor for that loan application (Maybank). He gave his pay slips and that's really it, and they approved it under 2 days QUOTE(KnightSports @ Jul 3 2018, 12:13 PM) Well, you can't blame the banks. They are not a charitable organization you see. Funny, I actually printed out my statement which has more than enough to buy the car in full cash, but I guess they still don't think it's credible enough. After all a family member could've deposited that amount of money just to fake that I have this money in my bank account. They need assurance you have the ability to pay your loans up. If you have an established a clear credit line and you have not exceeded the bank's established DSR limits, they should have no issues approving you. That, or they ask you to show your bank account which has more than the sufficient amount to cover the loan. But, who is so stupid to put money in the bank for them to take your money to loan it back to you and charge you an interest right? So, naturally they want a guarantor and when that guarantor is your dad which might be nearing his retirement age i guess? They too want to ask for him to prove his financial background in order to be your guarantor. So, i don't see any faults in that. It is just procedures part of their SOP i guess. Looking at this from their point of view although i understand the wait period kills you. |

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Jul 3 2018, 12:32 PM) They have every right and every reason not to trust you. That is how banks operate. Just read a thread on why PBB is so strict, makes sense now lol a lot of people say they're stricter than most other banks And you chosen a chinaman bank. What to do? |

QUOTE(Redundant @ Jul 3 2018, 04:50 PM) For lucky owners who will receive their car this month, please update us if you guys still received the 1.5k Honda raya rebate. I'm getting my car in about 12 days, my SA confirmed that I'll still get the 1.5k Raya rebate though not officially from Honda, most likely a cut from their commission. I'll update here once I put down the downpayment next week as to what the actual final cost isMany thanks ya |

QUOTE(Beach_Boy @ Jul 3 2018, 09:08 PM) there are still CSE connex(name change, same shxt) At first I was contemplating getting CSE Connex but since HIP covers theft and total loss there doesn't seem to be any point in getting Connex now is there? else you can opt for katsana (1k entry cost, same rm30/monthly charge) or cartrack (monthly subscription of RM80 or thereabouts) dont expect proactive monitoring like CSE and cartrack though for katsana |
