Hey guys, long time lurker here... thinking to finally take the plunge and get a 1.5 TC-P, but when’s the best time to get the car with best rebate? Is Raya almost a surefire time period to get good rebate? My funds are currently tied till July so thinking of getting the car around that time. Would love some advice from sifus here biggrin.gif

In recent years, raya has been a good timing to get some rather good discounts. Comparable to year end ones sometimes.

Back in 2013, you can even get City or Jazz Hybrid with either no downpayment paid or in some really weird cases where you only want minimal 10% downpayment / 90% loan. You get money back for buying the car.

Bear in mind though that the car you plan to get has to be registered and delivered on the month of the promotion period for the discount to be valid. Not booking date.

So, if you know that the model you want is hot selling and they do not have stocks sitting around. You might want to book in April and line it up for a May or June delivery depending if the SA wants to work with you on that or not.

Booking on the month itself might not get you the promotion and you might end up scampering around town trying to find a dealership that has ready stock of the model and color you want.

Thanks for sharing, I think I’ll visit a dealership this weekend to see if any of them would do it that way for me!

Hey guys, I've seen some people talk about the ride height of the new Civics and wanted to ask if it's a cause for concern. Anyone felt that it's annoying after a while, or have trouble getting over road humps with a car full of passengers?

No problem going over road hump.

Not annoying at all.

My father in law in his 60+ and my wife who is in her last trimester find it difficult to get out of the car. That’s about it.

Most of my passenger doesn’t have any problem.

Got the car in Nov 2017

Thanks for the response bro. I don't usually drive a lot of elderly people around, and not expecting a child soon so rclxm9.gif

Looking forward to joining the CivicX family... Raya rebate 1.5k, Penang dealer another 1.5k so total RM3k rebate, but due to high demand the car can only be delivered late July or early August sad.gif

so, with new law abolishing GST, wonder Honda Civic will be cheaper without GST (with excise duty + Sales Tax) or more expensive?
*
If you google Paul T’s website there’s a post on price adjustments after GST, I think it’s more expensive without GST.

Do people here usually lock by walking away (auto door lock), pressing the driver side door handle button, or by using the remote control (traditional way)? What about unlocking? Curious, since there are so many ways of locking and unlocking biggrin.gif

Hey guys I placed booking around mid May for modern steel TC-P but since then haven't heard anything, I called my SA and he said ETA is end of July which seems to be super long IMO. He also said all dealers have to key in booking order in order so can't jump queue. Did any of you guys order around same timeframe and quoted the same ETA? FYI this is Penang dealer at Sg. Pinang.

The discount I was quoted was 1.5k Raya and 1.5k from dealer... so 124k - 3k total = 121k

true about the extra discounts BUT the wait is killing me...

I’m in the same boat. Booked a bit later than you (May) and was told at first August only can get but last week got another phone call saying by end of July can get... the wait is the hardest part for sure lol

You call that wait?  dry.gif

Try a late July booking with delivery on late November with no discounts and see  bangwall.gif

And to add salt to injury. Less than 1 month later Honda came out with a campaign for RM1k discount followed by another RM888 additional discount for cars delivered in the month of January the following year.

I even gotten a letter from Honda Malaysia to apologize for the late delivery.

This was a previous car which incidentally was also a Honda.

GG sorry to hear that bro. I guess the timing is perfect for those who's getting a new car just as the government was changing and coincidentally the Raya rebate is also happening at the same time. tongue.gif

Are there any other well known body kits in the market besides Modulo? Modulo looks a bit too basic/subtle for me and I want something a bit more sportier but all I found are kits by random workshops

Visited Kah Motor Penang today to meet with Public Bank loan officer, 70k loan for 5 years at 2.46% p.a. interest rate, not sure can get approved or not since I'm freelancing for US companies recently only came back to Malaysia since April, so not a whole lot of local pay history, worst case pay cash upfront. My car ETA is mid July.

Also confirmed with my SA the OTR without insurance cost of my modern steel metallic TC-P is RM122,931 after 0% GST and Raya rebate.

On top of that he offered the following accessories:

- Modulo wing/trunk spoiler — RM750
- Modulo LED sidestep — RM450
- Modulo door visor (with chrome lining at top he said, original no chrome lining?) — RM350
- Trunk tray — RM160
- Door protector film — RM260
- HyperGard tinting front 95%, side and rear 80% TSR — RM1,700
- GM-Tech premium diamond coating (is this the same as ceramic pro?) — RM1,700

I'm thinking of getting all of these and sports pedal (he's checking price before quoting me that), is this a good idea? I've never heard of HyperGard (seems like a local brand) and GM-Tech (local brand also) but both the tinting and coating come with 5 year local warranty.

Hi there just out of curiosity when did you book your civic?i booked mine at the same kah motors in penang unfortunately my SA cant give me an estimate time of arrival
Mind you ive bought my last city with him

I did my booking last monday
*
I booked my car quite some time ago, 14th May to be exact so it takes about 2 full months from placing booking to actually getting the car. Since you booked last Monday it's really hard to tell as the wait time is probably a bit longer than 2 months with all the demand from GST 0% (I booked before that was even a thing).

QUOTE(matrix88 @ Jun 23 2018, 07:06 PM)
getting from outside is cheaper
*
Yeah I agree, actually the price they quoted me is already cheaper than Honda official price as they're doing it "outside" too.
