for 70mai pro, power source is it from cigarette/lighter or hardwired from fuse? Mind share how u route it?
*
Mine from cigarette there.. wired from fuse too complicated for me lol.

The usual way how ppl route the wiring lo.. should be quite std & easy.

Hide under windscreen headliner to end.. masuk A pillar black rubber.. all the way till bottom dashboard then left masuk under bottom dashboard/steering.. access cable will be hidden there also.. plenty space under steering then masuk cigarette area ... just follow the plastic lines.. Cable 100% hidden except 2-3inches down connect to dashcam.

Thanks for sharing. cigarette is actually located at left side passenger side which means the hdmi and usb port will be obstructing the path, that's why i wonder how other people route this.
*
Oh no issue. just route & stick on top edge there above hdmi/usb. Cant see. I've installed for my col altis and City as well.

Somehow our civic FC macam pre-design for dashcam wiring route.. lol.. the plastic lines and gap ngam ngam the place to route the wiring and hide nicely.. brows.gif

Hi All, this gen has been around for about 5 years. May I ask how reliable is the 1.5 turbo engine? Aiming for mid spec tc
*
Not yet 5 years la.. almost 4 years only (launched 9 Jun 16) biggrin.gif

Mine TC first batch Jul16, so far engine no issue.. still powerful & efficient. Overall just changed the AC compressor (first batch problem). other than that no other issues.

Before I bought my car, I was deciding between the Civic, Altis and Elantra.

Test drove the Elantra. The minute you step into the car, you can feel that the car was developed without any heart or soul. The materials are all plasticky. The dashboard looks like it's from the nineties. There're so many features lacking. The ride was just so so.

That's probably the reason why you don't see the new Elantra on the road at all. The developers didn't put any love into it when designing it. Also, they're giving out hefty discounts for the top variant.. I think you can get one for about RM90k plus. Now, if a company has to go through such drastic measures to sell a car and yet there aren't many sold, you know there's something wrong there.

I don't think it's got anything to do with it being a 'korean' car or whatever

As for the Civic... the moment you step into the car, you get that adrenaline rush. The design of the car, the accessories, the features, the turbo engine, the overall package. It makes you feel like wow ... I got to buy this car. I actually got the same feeling when I was test driving the Altis. The only reason I didn't get it was because it was out of my price range.

End of the day, even after reading all the forums in the world, you have to go and test the car. And not just go 1 km, U turn and come back. Test the sound system and blast it. Take out your phone and test the decibels if your requirements are a good NVH cabin. Take it out on the highway and rev it if your main priority is power. If your priority is good service, then stick with a well known brand with a good service track record.

Bro Shahrul .. I noticed that you've been hanging around this thread for quite some time. Still undecided on whether to get the Civic? Just pull the trigger bro.

Yes very true. The new elantra exterior design is ok. but once u step inside and look at the interior.. already no mood looking at the dashboard. Is so so old design and all hard plastics. Can even feel more pleasant in City/Vios which is 1 segment below. Kia Cerato dashboard is better. Until today hardly see 1 latest elantra OTR .. the 2.0 now is almost 20k cheaper than civic 1.8... About RM95k+/- after disc

Been a huge fan of hankook, used most models frm v12 several sets, s1Evo, evo2, s1noble 2, jus got the K125 yesterday. Change tyres almost yearly or 1.5yrs
*
Understand that Hankook no longer produce the Evo V12 but replaced with Prime 3 (K125) which they claimed is UHP tyre but more towards comfort + performance. I check online, is quite cheap for a UHP tyre. Civic 215/50/17 size only selling for RM 230 when promo. hmm.gif

https://automacha.com/hankook-launches-the-...-3-in-malaysia/

Hows your new K125 perform? better than MC5? quieter? Do give us some review ya notworthy.gif

Thanks

Gps tracker anyone?
Thinking to get 1 🤔
*
I still think that pedal/steering lock is a better choice. At least the thief when see pedal lock or steering lock then they just move away and target another civic few meters away.. since civic FC is everywhere..

With GPS tracker they wont know and proceed to steal your car then the hassle start where u have to report police, track your car location and look for the thief etc...

Offcourse if with pedal/steering lock + GPS tracking the best biggrin.gif

yes agreed. the pre facelift civic fc ride feels more planted

this new fl civic feels very light. feels and drives like a honda city  sweat.gif  laugh.gif

maybe a bodykit might help abit  laugh.gif
*
Cannot be drive like Honda city mar..

Civic is a bigger car, 1 segment above, 200Kg+ heavier, bigger tyres, multi link suspension and much lowered. Should be more stable & planted. hmm.gif

Yeah, it rocks !  smile.gif

In the video, he mention 18" michelin tyres since it's 2020 model. I wonder if change tyres from 17" to 18" for older Civic TCP, will it be good handling ?

*
He push to the limit where most of us wont really even push to 70% ... I believe Ori 17" with PS4 will have almost similar performance.

Damn. Just took Civic two weeks ago n my windshield kena stone ships. Got small crack. Went to repair at Dr.Cermin. But now the crack spreading. Wana bring Dr.Cermin again today😭
*
Actually line crack few cm , dont waste time to bring for repair. Mine crack about 7cm line.. bring to Dr Cermin, next day spread longer, repair again n spread even longer.. no use.. at the end just change the whole windscreen & buy windscreen insurance. Unless is a small chip or bull eye crack then ok to repair.

if you buy under HIP, all insurance company's premium is the same.
*
No is not the same. My TC first 2 years with MSIG. 3rd year changed to Liberty. insured 85k with windscreen. MSIG quoted about 1700 vs Liberty about 1400. 300 diff. Both under HIP bruce.gif

Honda actually improved the NVH in the facelift civic. so far im satisfied with the NVH in this car segment smile.gif
Agree. not everyone that owns a honda have issues. its is a quality control issue which brings the question are we lucky enough to not get a lemon unit.

I would say people with lemon units usually speaks louder than those without issue, can be seen in this forum. Those without issue probably chilling at home with their civic with no worries 😆
*
yeah agree. my 2016 1st batch TC.. so far so good.. no rattling sound unless really over a very rough bad road then can hear a bit... else 99% no ratling.

After 4 years +. other than changed AC compressor, no other issue. I don expect a car with zero problems for first 5 yrs biggrin.gif

NVH consider ok/average... even my col with brand new persona, he sit in my 4yr+ car.. also said that his persona nvm is much poorer.

Other brands? depends on luck also. my comp Alphard CBU japan over 400k.. 1 yr + suspension kaput & claimed warranty.. 2 bosses BMW X5 plug in..both less than 3 years, car stop middle of the road and have to tow to SC... rclxub.gif

Fully CBU unit. I guess wont be cheap.
*
their new CBU Sonata without the advanced safety features retails at 206k (with SST) and new CBU Elantra with all the advanced safety wont be cheap.. my guess min 138,888 brows.gif or possible as high as 158,888? No doubt the New elantra looks good in / out.. but interior material still a lot plastics... but only 1.6NA 120+ hp .. zzzzz

if Conti UC6, why not getting the MC6? is about the same price. MC6 is UHP tyres with AA ratings. sure perform better than UC6.

Unless you are looking for quiet tyres. UHP wont be quiet. im using MC6 now..grip is way better than MC5 and is comfortable.

4 years in, 50k mileage, one of my rear stock MC5 tyre burst yesterday.. manage to limp to nearby tyre shop to grab an identical 2nd hand replacement at meantime..

any sifu here recommend replacement for 4 sets of 215/50 R17?
*
Wow.. kena cut , hit kerb or anything? or just burst like that? My Ori MC5 already 4.5 years, 65k milleage with 50% tread left.

Really worry me if a 4 yr good condition tyre can just burst like that blink.gif

Then I have to consider change new tyres.
