When i switch to auto, during daytime and bright enough, tail lights, DRL and side markers would be turned on as well?
*
No, if auto and bright enough then only front DRL is on. Side marker I'm not sure, but taillight definitely off.

Curious what fuel brand and type is everyone pumping, I just pumped Caltex 97 but somehow acceleration feels a bit retarded now. I’ve checked that carpet is not in the way of accelerator pedal already

U already numb to the acceleration la.

U need a k20c1 crate engine adi

I'm not sure that I am. It feels completely different than the previous tank (free from SA)

Perhaps you inadvertantly turned on eco mode?
*
What's funny is that since I got the car I've been driving in eco mode (Penang can't vroom lol) so my experience is strictly eco-only. I disabled eco mode and the acceleration didn't wow me right away which led me to think either something's wrong with my engine, my head or with the fuel. sweat.gif

im somehow agree with you but not obvious with civic.. encounter this retard acc when fuelling caltex 95 but with my old honda city.. but the FC is very very good! i can get average 550km~ on a full tank (on this civic).. mine u mine path most of time is freeway, average speed 110kmh..
*
Interesting, I’ve had pretty good experience with Caltex 95 in previous cars, maybe their 97 is sh** lol

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Jul 25 2018, 09:10 PM)
Haiya, nowadays hot la.

Sure the timing retard kaw kaw one. The harder u tekan, the more disappointment you get.

I dun have data log of it, but i can sort of notice it from my gauges

#truestory

It was raining when I noticed the slow acceleration lol RIP me

BHP ron95 95% of the time after brainwashed during BHP dinner event in 2012.

Didn't bother about ron97, unless the price is close to ron95.
*
Good call, I think the OP has a section that says BHP 95 is close to EURO4M compliant or already is. Anyway my next tank is likely going to be BHP 97 and if that still sucks I’m going back to 95

Same here! and the first tank was RON95. not sure what went wrong. somehow feel that RON95 is more responsive compare to Shell RON97, will test few different combinations and see how. keep me posted on your findings too.
*
Glad to see I'm not the only one feeling underwhelmed about RON97. I'll update here once I pump my next tank.

QUOTE(Beach_Boy @ Jul 26 2018, 01:04 PM)
anyone drove downhill before? (IE from cameron/genting)
does the CVT automatically put the ratio to enable engine braking in D?

i'm not sure as i havent been driving the car alot and the other cvt i've driven is a rented Saga FL in KK, that has a very pronounced engine braking effect when i lift off
*
When going downhill, D does have engine braking but it's not as aggressive as when you put it in S. The manual explicitly encourages owners to shift to S when more engine braking is desired, so I used it when going downhill and can feel the engine braking kicking in a lot so I don't have to full time pump brake which might wear down the brake pad faster, also too much heat built up renders the brakes less effective.

Bro - is the hot temperature causes slower acceleration (any reference or further explanation?)? I just drove this afternoon and it is so sluggish (not that it can't climb up the hill or go further). just that the acceleration was so fcking awesome when I first collected the car in the early morning with a free tank from SA, so expectation was set.

With Shell RON97 now. Might change back to RON95 and try different timing to drive.
*
Have you tried turning off Econ mode? For me even when off it also felt slower than day 1. Like what KnightSports said it could be the thrill or unfamiliarity that skewed our perception of how fast the car actually is and now that we are used to it it doesn’t seem that fast anymore.

Welp, time to save up for an M3

Haiyah, all the pitfalls you all have is set by your ownself.

Honda did not market this as a hot hatch nor did they market it as an nsx beater.

What you all expect la. Floor throttle and your seat breaks?

Even M3 (the german one) also will feel slow one day one. By then you either need a chiron supersport of some fancy rockets from elon musk
*
Haha I know it's not marketed as a fast performance car, but coming from a Myvi and then an old Accord, I expected the Civic to kinda blow my socks away, and so far it has been really good in terms of comfort and noise level (the A pillar rattling is there but doesn't bother me yet, I assume it would in the future and will deal with it then), but the speed doesn't feel as oompppphhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh anymore as day 1, and it happened right after I refueled which was why I was mainly curious if it was because of Caltex RON97 cry.gif

Hey man, i also buying from kah motor and they recommend both products...

i prob will take huper optik for tinting instead.... but how is your gm tech coating? did u get it in the end?
*
I got it for 1.7k for coating and quite impressed so far, though it’s my first time having my car coated so don’t have much experience to speak from. I’ve heard someone getting it from them at 1.4k so within this range should be good.

No complaints, though it seems a bit too dark but they insisted it’s JPJ compliant. At least they have 5 year warranty so in case I get stopped by traffic police during a roadblock I can claim from them. For tinting I’d recommend doing elsewhere if you have a trusted place in mind already

Finally took a drive down the 2nd Penang bridge this past Sunday at 150km/h, feelsgoodman, I've heard people complain a bit about wind noise but I didn't notice any wind noise that was bothering me. I do have door visor and a rear Modulo wing installed not sure if those matter. Going to KL this Friday, another long drive then come back first service, already made appointment. Can't wait!

Wow nice bro, glad to hear warranty claim went good for you. Kinda a bummer they say the warm start grinding sound is normal but hey win some lose some, also it doesn't affect normal functioning of the engine.

Lucky i use Am999 SOLEX lock...... Tested cannot press the brake to start the car.

Disadvantages : Need long hand to lock properly as steering blocking the body to go down .... hahahaha

Did you get it for RM194 from Lazada? Or somewhere else? How well does it work? Any other thoughts beyond the need long hand to lock?

i got mine from lazada. it works well been using on past 3 cars. its basically a locktech but not attached to the car without any ignition kill
*
Thanks, might consider getting it... there's a RM159 listing on Lazada now too https://www.lazada.com.my/products/solex-am...s149307967.html

I don't think I want/need ignition lock, just a simple visual deterrent to make other surrounding cars more attractive to steal is fine for me biggrin.gif

Back from Penang-Ipoh-KL-Penang trip, drove total about 900km, average FC around 18.5km/L, not bad. Some observations:

I did notice some wind noise above 140km/h but below that it’s really not that bad at all. Really dislike the noisy grunt below 40km/h or when going uphill.

Backseat apparently was quite comfortable for passengers, but front passenger was quite uncomfortable after 1 hour on the trip because the seat height cannot be adjusted so people with long leg will suffer lol

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Aug 5 2018, 02:22 PM)
If your front passenger is forced to push their seats forwards to make leg room for rear passenger, then the front passenger will not be so comfortable because they will be forced to bunch up as they cannot fully extend their legs.

The angle of the dash also does not help if you end up bending your knees if you cannot extend your legs fully into the underside of the dash.
*
Actually when I decided to get the car I thought the front passenger seat is also a power seat, also I thought the driver seat has memory function for some reason. Dangit lol
