How u got a protection plus certificate ?

Last Saturday, I had one of my 2 units installed with HAO 5D.  There are actually 3 versions to choose from; full coverage, semi coverage, and case friendly.  The insanely expensive retail prices inclusive of installation are RM280, RM280, and RM180 respectively but there is a 15% discount if you remember to mention you are a forum member.

The difference between the full and semi coverage is that the full coverage covers almost all of the LCD thus making it incompatible with most cases.  I chose the semi coverage version after being assured that it will fit nicely with the Samsung Protective Standing Cover which I had yet to purchase because it was out of stock at most places.

As previously explained by some forum members, HAO 5D for Note8 is actually a 3 layer product consisting of a transparent film, adhesive, and tempered glass.  If you decide to get this, make sure you have an hour to spare because the installation will take a good 30 to 40 minutes behind public viewing but they will offer you a free drink or two and their PS4 to play with while waiting for the installation to complete.

Make no mistake, the HAO 5D for Note8 being a curved tempered glass does not share the same strength and properties as their normal flat tempered glass.  You cannot bend or drop it like in this video MALAYSIA HAO TEMPERED GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR or use it as a hammer like in this video
HAO 5D [ Impact Shield ] Full Tempered Glass where it would most certainly crack and you will have an excuse to kick yourself.    Sad to say I only found out about this midway during the installation which by then was too late to back out.

Anyway, the end result is simply stunning.  I would say clarity is unaffected to the untrained eye of most people.  Sensitivity is surprisingly normal at the edge but is slightly robbed off elsewhere and is most noticeable during keyboard typing where you might have to type just a tad harder than your normal feather touch.

Will I install this on my 2nd unit?  The answer lies with HAO if it is willing to rectify the sensitivity issue with my 1st unit.

I know some forum members believe casing and/or screen protectors are scams and are probably laughing at me for being a sucker but I can only wish them all Good Luck and take good care of your precious.

Very detailed review bro. Wow. Good thing I'm still thinking twice on TAP SP. Haha. So there is a sensitivity issue like the SP I had? I think the problem could be our phones LCD screen. I watched a water test on note 8 and they recommend note to use it because the LCD will read the water as a finger. Thus making touching the screen while under water useless. If rain and stuffs it's still ok. At the moment my phone has no SP or TG. I use a flip cover so I'm worried that much. But I'm still planning to get which is case friendly. Preferably from a Samsung store sometime end of this month or the following month. XD

Hmm. I've seen on websites too. But I'm not sure. I don't wanna go for it first at the moment. Already wasted rm99 on spigen SP which came out once I drop My phone. Nope. Lol. And since I'm using flip case I think I'm good. Still have to be careful also lor. Haha..

I have been a Samsung user since S2, N2, N4 and N8 (current) and I always have screen protector and cover to protect the phone. I have bought X-One screen protector screen and applied by the seller. Not perfect but he does better job than myself. The sensitivity has disrupted my normal router. The finger experience is good but not S-Pen. Instead of scrolling, it will at times open the file or app. My current workaround is that I will use my finger to scroll and S-Pen only for writing and drawing. It is a little inconvenience but I have to live with it until there is a better and more reliable screen protector is made available and hopefully it is case friendly too.

do you still get the 1+1 year and 1 year screen protection plan if you get it from qoo10 or is it limited to preorder set?

Oo. This old model, the one i just bought, takes 2hr30min to charge from 18%. But somehow after 10mins, the battery dropped to 16% and then it takes 2hr50min to fully charge. lol. I switched to cable. LOL.

may i know where did u guys get the x-one stealth armor for note 8? does it covers the whole phone (front, back, sides, top & bottom). also what's the price & how is the quality if lets say compared to clear coat by mobile outfitters?

Are you using original S-Pen tip? Did you change S-Pen tip?

Earlier on, I forgot to mention that although there are only some minor sensitivity issue with typing, there is however no issue at all when using the S-Pen, maybe because one tends to write slightly harder than touching on the screen.

This afternoon I went back to HAO to complain about the sensitivity issue and they immediately redid the whole process by replacing the tempered glass and the end result is a lot better than before I complain or simply near perfect.

For the exorbitant price that I paid and the service they provided, I can say I am satisfied at the moment.

Back to my earlier question, will I now install this on my 2nd unit?  Maybe not because but I was thinking to try Whitestone Dome Glass instead.

I finally bought the Samsung Protective Standing Cover from Starling in Damansara Uptown and with this cover, the phone now weight almost 260gm.

sigh, bought note 8 for friend on friday night from doughnut @qoo10. expected parcel to be sent out on saturday, but qoo10 put my order status as "Payment Under Review". dont know how many days i gotta wait and dont know how to explain to friend also. anyone experience this before and how many days status will be clear?

I had this problem as well because I buy and send to my friend address. I waited 2 days my payment still under review. I checked my email there is qoo10 email but in spam  . Ask me to show proof that what relation of me with my friend. I ring them up +65(sin) and ask me a copy of my cc photo with blank of the middle numbers. Than it process and tomorrow i get my phone....

So I've had my Note 8 for the past three weeks now and all has been good till the past three days. As a practice, I would charge my phone to full every night, unplug the charger and put the phone into max power saving mode. The next morning (about 7 hours later) when I wake up, the drain would be about 2 to 3%. But for the past 3 nights, with no new apps downloaded or whatever, I'd do the same thing, and the battery drain has been well over 20%. In Max Power Saving mode, no less. I even made sure I kill all apps before turning on the max power saving mode and yet the same results occur. I even turned off mobile and data before I sleep and results are the same.

Anyways, thankfully it charges fast so I'll leave it as it is.

I knew that quite a lot of people commented mysamsung app warranty disappear. Mine as well. Mine was after I got the warranty certificate from Samsung. 2 question here.

1) Anyone verify with Samsung on the mysamsung app issue?

2) How to know the warranty certificate is registered my phone under pre-order protection plus warranty (1year extension and 1 year screen crack) or only 1 year screen crack Warranty? Previously saw someone posted the warranty certificate registered wrong warranty.

Got my Note 8 Qoo10. Was quite surprised to find out the seller was actually from my hometown, Ipoh. If I knew that I would have sent it straight there instead of my current location. I was also shocked to see Samsung supplying a simple see through case. I always though the package picture on the front page was from the pre-order version.

Anyway got a question regarding charging the phone for the first time. Do we still need to do the 12 hours charge before using it?

Ya, a friend of mine told me to do that yesterday as well and results were OK last night. Will monitor it for the next couple of days to see how it holds. Otherwise might need to restart the phone everyday, ha ha ha. It's the one thing Android still can't get right; idle battery drain.
I sleep about 6-7 hours only. And like I said, max power saving is on therefore everything is off including AOD which I don't use, anyway. I'm sure it's some app or system file that went rogue somewhere in the phone.
That's the thing, the battery tool showed no app draining power, which was weird. Anyways, will monitor it further before I make a big fuss over it.

thyanks, im looking at spigen too currently.. how about screen protector? anyone using neo flex? does it affect the smoothness?

i will be using spigen case, should be ok right?
