You play a voice message and put it next to your ears the sensor will detect and dim your screen voice message will play through the ear piece speaker on top. Previously had this feature on my iphone but now had to hold my phone horizontally to listen to voice messages on Messenger app on note 8 which i found quite troublesome. I assume this app doesnt support the feature?
I wonder why they don't introduce this feature on android platform hmm..has it been this way all this time?

Yes, Android doesn't behave quite like iOS when idle. It's not purely s Samsung problem. I have to activate max power saving for my battery to drop 2-3%  overnight and even then sometimes the phone runs rogue and drops more than 20%.

TPU screen protector should have orange peel effect. I think it is due to the material used, that's why got orange peel effect. For uncompromised user experience, better use it naked =D However, if you feel insecure, tempered glass should be your next best bet. Im currently using Hao 5D semi full edition, user experience is great, no orange peel effect, fits perfectly with neo hybrid. However, if you have dry hands, the sensitivity of the screen will be affected by abit..just need to press abit harder. Another downside is expensive =D

tried the 3rd tempered glass. didn't satisfied with any of it. part of the screen not sensitive, affects greatly when typing or gaming. considering for screen protector instead, hopefully won't have any hard drop incident happen.

Very unsatisfied with battery performance. Fully charged overnight 9 hours. Showing 85%. Wifi off, Bluetooth off, Memory Clear, all Apps close.

Looks like Note 8 battery life on idle performance is not that consistent. Mine overnight (7-8 hours, everything off except mobile network) sometimes dropped only 2%-3%, but occasionally it did dropped 5% (max). May be it's because I am using LED view cover and Clear view cover which are also consuming a little bit of juice, not 100% sure though. Fortunately, the on screen battery usage is excellent. I guess I can bear with the weak idle performance. Hopefully the future update will fix this issue.

previously when charging the samsung s8 plus, the led indicator will turn green once the battery has been charged to 100%, but the note 8 is still showing red even tho the battery has reached 100%. any idea why?

i just got my phone few days ago. havent register warranty or anything yet. however just now samsung called, saying that the warranty has been registered. my guess is that the seller at qoo10 has done it for me? so good lah.

originally i was planning to use my note 8 with only front + back X-One scree protector without case, but then my cousin showed me his 3 weeks old note 8 that he used with the free case from samsung, the paint on the side & bottom part of his phone was chipped off.



i went to samsung store to get the protective standing cover but it was out of stock. so i bought this alcantara case instead. its quite nice, the material is suede. feels nice to touch & looks premium. and it fits perfectly with my screen protector. the only thing that i'm worried about is it looks like it will be dirty easily, but samsung claims that "this case is also durable because it's scratchproof, stain-resistant, and easy to clean with soap and water".

Ya. I noticed this too. I checked my battery usage everytime before I charge. And guess what? The "device idle" always took more battery juice compared to network/android system/OS. I never had this kind of issue when I was using Note 5 & S8 plus. Normally, device idle would be the last in the battery usage ranking. But for Note 8, it's another way around.  At first, I thought it's the cover since it got smart function such as open the flip cover to wake up the phone. Now after reading your comment and knowing that you have similar experience, I guess we can conclude that Note 8's idle is not that "idle" at all.    Fortunately, like you said, Note 8 consume lesser battery when on screen. If not, I will be rage. LOL

i think basically is depend on how big ur hand. for me no issue to touch on it.

but i personally feel the fingerprint sensor like a joke compare to mate 9. many times i need to keep on touch n change my finger position then only it able to unlock. while my mate9 single touch with any position already unlock the phone.

Anyone found any lock screen button that work like the "Lock" in the softkey Edge?
