noticed that in bright sunlight the iris scanner doesnt work very well

Still waiting for my note 8 to arrive.
I ordered from Qoo10 on last friday around 10am, then at 4.50pm friday i got an email "your order has been sent / shipped out".
I would most probably receive it by today or tomorrow?
This is my 1st time purchasing from Qoo10.
I put my office address as delivery address, but i need to go out later. Afraid the delivery guy might come when i'm not in the office.

It doesn't really work really well in darkness either though Samsung says the front camera comes with infared. Ifags are claiming the Iphone X will have a better camera with infared and it should facial recognition should work flawlessly. Lets see how true will that be.

I'm a bit paranoid about installing third party monitoring apps. Afraid they may be the ones draining battery instead, ha ha.

Great experience I'd say, switched from iPhone 6 Plus to Note 5 tho.

I'll never go back to iPhone anymore it'll take awhile for you to get used to it, at least a month or two.

I took longer coz I never really explored the phone since I had to swap it for Note 5 coz my sis bought the N5 for mom and she only knows how to use iPhone. Bo bian.. After swapping, just normal usage, hated the sensitivity and how the screen doesn't turn on when receive notification, now i'm used to it after exploring.

Some features of Note that I prefer over the iPhone
- back button
- s pen (best)
- way user-friendlier than iphone imo
- beauty feature in front camera - many girl friends love selfie-ing with my phone   
- multi tasking, especially when you wanna run youtube in the background and can still chat with your friends on other app
- fb messenger uses chat bubble, so you can use it whenever you want and still have your background app running

The cons?
- there's no software like iTunes which i find really helpful, sync data music video etc easily by connecting cable only
- speed of capturing photos

iTunes is basically a phone manager, you can install apps/delete apps/rearrange screens/sync music,photos,videos etc all on PC. like upgrading phone, you can literally copy paste EVERYTHING to new phone using that..

Can also buy albums and musics as well.. haven't bought any original songs since I switched to android

Hope this can clear some more doubts from pre-ordered units from Samsung.

However, it is not able to disable the pulldown notification panel from lock screen. So if our phone is lost/stolen, the finder/thief could just disable network and GPS. "Find my mobile'' will be useless by then?

Good thing is work well with s pen and i would say minimal degradation of sensitivity although still noticeable if you are super picky.

However after less than one month, suddenly I notice that there is a chip on the side, and hairline crack is spreading across. Note that im using samsung led wallet which covers the screen, and would relatively say that I have been very careful in handling the phone. It has never been dropped or involved in any impact, and has been intentionally kept away from other hard items (key, coins, etc.) when placed in the pocket.

So I would say that its quite susceptible/prone to damage on the sides, which i feel is bad given the money that one has to pay. No warranty, only 50% discount is given within three months. Hmm..

Anyone tried to use edge screen to open apps at lockscreen? In the lock screen, I swipe the edge screen and select any apps, it will directly go into apps and when I exit, phone unlocked and straight at home screen.

i meant the normal SP, those plastic type. coz i watched the installation video was expecting it to cover the phone edge as well but seems like only cover the main screen..
