Hi Sifus here...

Recently I saw there is one internet service provider name freshtel which they are in Malaysia for 2 years, anyone have used it and share your experience in term of
1. stability
2. support service
3. speed latency ( I mean if stated 30mbps is it lower than that or lagging?_)

If it's too good to be true, it's likely to be scam. Try to Google it, but no mention of it anywhere. But RM98 for 10mbs unlimited is a steal though. Hmmm

I recently moved into my new condo and Freshtel has some sort of promo for the residents (1 year of 10 Mbps Internet for free, only need to pay RM 500 deposit). They seems like a pretty small company and they prefer to communicate via FB. I saw that there's another project by my condo's developer which also has the same partnership - but before moving in I also never heard of Freshtel. Before I signed up with them, I did check out their website which looks kinda dodgy...but 1 year of free Internet is a pretty good deal so I decided to try them out.

1. Been using it for a week, no issues so far.
2. As mentioned above, they advised to communicate with them via FB but not issues so far so I can't comment on this
3. They supplied a pretty standard TP-Link router, did a Speedtest and it seems to check out.

And yes, the deposit is RM 500 nod.gif ... if it wasn't for the 1 year promo deal I also wouldn't have considered them as there's a lot of more established ISPs.

I'm actually interning in Freshtel right now lol, honestly never even heard of them before my uncle introduced me in (hence why Google have me stumbled on this forum). It's a legit ISP.

Infrastructure is solid, other than the few usual hiccups, like when MRT construction cuts our effin' fibre line. But we usually have the backup line running within the hour, a day or 2 at most. Don't bother with the website, it was made by another intern years back, way outdated. Most of the info is on their fb page and insta account. Their biggest client is probably i-City (over 600 customers, even has a dedicated offsite support office there).

Yea, it's a small company, but they definitely seem to have some money to blow. And their weekly meetings are always mainly about customer experience and how to hit TM hard with cheaper pricing. Literally every single customer complaint is brought up in the weekly meetings.

I can't tell you the specifics, but they are backed by bigshot developers and shareholders.

Yes, they are making profits. Actually making pretty decent profits and expanding to dozens of locations within the next few years (mostly new developments).

But right now they are getting another upstream provider in. So expect better stability this year or next year, because currently they only depend on ONE. I really can't tell you anything else about their network because again, trade secrets XD. Just trust me when I say that they are improving and expanding really fast for a such a small startup.

Hi. I served in the Royal Malaysian Navy base in Lumut. I just discovered that FreshTel is the ISP for free Wifi service inside the naval base. I guessed they got a contract with RMN or something.

Once I've attended a meeting in KL HQ, they mentioned something about the budget allocated for this wifi service, which I'd say very very cheap, even TM can't compete. Service is pretty good, except for some office area, covered by wifi coverage, but no connection. I've been told that there are some fibre or main switch problem. But other area the connectivity is good.

I too have never heard of this ISP nor seen any ads about services this ISP is offering to the public. Glad to know it is good company.

I had very bad experience with Freshtel. (WORSE THAN TM NET) The network is consistently not stable sometimes even dropped to 1mbps when my scubscription was 30mbps.

This lady named Cavy from customer service hang up my phone when i was complaining about their poor network and after sales service. Seriously? And telling me that complain to sales person is no use and they have no any record of my feedback in the past. Wow, very good taichi skill.

I wouldn't recommend Freshtel to be your internet provider because if you sign up today, next month they will have better promotion and says that you're not entitled because you're tied to previous contract. Their package is inconsistent which depends on areas and competitive levels, different price every month (normally they'll lower the price down after few months when sales is bad and the early subscribers will not enjoy this benefit, very unprofessional.

I'm terminating Freshtel end of this month, ending my nightmare which lasts for months. Deposit was RM500 and you have to return the modem and router to them before they refund, cheapskate company.

was told by my friend,

YES4G with another bumi company got the project.

PNT Systems build the fibre, wifi network and hotspot system. freshtel is the direct internet access provider.
~200 long range wifi AP, 20+ buildings with fibre connection completed within 3 months.

there were 2 times major internet outage over 3 years contract around 1 week each time due to YES4G didn't pay the bills flex.gif

my place got no unifi service, according to the TM Point there are no more PORT at my area and have to wait 3 to 6 months. Apparently this company come to our building and offering slightly lower price compare to TM/Time and able to provide internet service to my unit at legend height.

so far no issue and speedtest is ok.
