There's always better than "good enough". Lots of small but significant things for me that can be done by rooting, and rooting must unlock bootloader. Can't explain all the small root features cuz it's personal to me and might not apply to you.
List of my apps that uses root:

Especially Tasker, Titanium backup, adblock and substratum. Also nova launcher with root can allow me swipe down anywhere on homescreen to show notifications, which I am super used to it and cannot let go.
I only remember I root during the early android days where Samsung TW was so heavily laced with bloatware it would be impossible not to root. Nowadays, I dont bother. One, stock android like Oxygen is 'slick' enough, two android phones are better spec'ed now and three, I dont really have the time to troubleshoot here and there when the phone runs into problems. +1 . Same here. QUOTE(k@|i0s @ Sep 23 2017, 05:47 PM)
I would guess that would be the main reason. Unless the phone is not supported by Oneplus, which I would estimate to be years away, then maybe would I think about rooting. But since I change my phone each time a new iteration comes out, I would think otherwiese.
