Are you using SuperSU for root?Change to Magisk, don't use SuperSU. Magisk has built in MagiskHide which can allow you to choose what apps to hide from root. My CIMB app works perfectly with it.

QUOTE(wkwong91 @ Sep 22 2017, 04:58 PM) I am using latest magisk 14.0 and CIMB works perfectly with magiskhide... make sure after you tick the apps, do a full reboot (if reboot using magisk app doesn't work, reboot your phone using the power button menu). |

QUOTE(wkwong91 @ Sep 22 2017, 08:28 PM) yea not stock rom but it's still basically Oxygen OS, cuz it's FreedomOS (It just allows me to remove some stock apps but not really a totally different OS than stock).QUOTE(tachlio @ Sep 22 2017, 09:25 PM) The problem is not about the cable only, but Oneplus 5 USB C port is 2.0 so it cannot charge another device even though you use the right cable |

QUOTE(wkwong91 @ Sep 23 2017, 12:00 AM) Tasker should be working perfectly @@ Must be something wrong with your magisk. Try flashing the latest magisk?Anyway since you're rooted, you can't receive official OTA updates anymore (have to flash the updates manually). So might as well go for custom ROM. I recommend FreedomOS because it retains all stock oxygenOS features and allow you to debloat some of the things. I don't use Lineage OS or other AOSP roms because OxygenOS is good enough and stable. |

QUOTE(wkwong91 @ Sep 23 2017, 09:58 AM) I am using latest Magisk v14 already. This tasker can detect the root access, just when i try to switch network to 2g when wifi connected but not works. The network is still switch back to 4g. Even the gps is not auto on when i open the maps. Maybe because of Nougat? Oh network switch in Tasker is always not working, don't bother trying. Actually 4G won't drain your battery much more compared to 2G when it's not being used. For GPS you might have to use secure settings plugin, I don't remember cuz I don't use GPS in Tasker anymore |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Sep 23 2017, 05:18 PM) I see many of you all rooting and unlocking the boot loader here. The stock fw not good enough? I feel that stock Oxygen is light and slick enough already. Not much bloatware and unwanted software. There's always better than "good enough". Lots of small but significant things for me that can be done by rooting, and rooting must unlock bootloader. Can't explain all the small root features cuz it's personal to me and might not apply to you.List of my apps that uses root: Especially Tasker, Titanium backup, adblock and substratum. Also nova launcher with root can allow me swipe down anywhere on homescreen to show notifications, which I am super used to it and cannot let go. QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Sep 23 2017, 05:57 PM) I only remember I root during the early android days where Samsung TW was so heavily laced with bloatware it would be impossible not to root. Nowadays, I dont bother. One, stock android like Oxygen is 'slick' enough, two android phones are better spec'ed now and three, I dont really have the time to troubleshoot here and there when the phone runs into problems. Well your mileage may vary and everyone has different preference. As I said my main reason to root is some very personal preference for certain features, which might not seem to be a need for you (that's why I didn't even list what are those). Not only root to debloat.+1 . Same here. I would guess that would be the main reason. Unless the phone is not supported by Oneplus, which I would estimate to be years away, then maybe would I think about rooting. But since I change my phone each time a new iteration comes out, I would think otherwiese. Anyway root or no root is a preference thing, we don't need a conclusion of is it really needed or not. There's no right or wrong. If you don't have the need then that's fine for your usage haha. |

QUOTE(pohsze @ Sep 27 2017, 12:22 PM) from mobile outfitters at pavillion kl, in front of harvey norman. Is it a full body coating? Does it affect the screen viewing quality in anyway? I am very sensitive to that so even slight degradation I can notice itfull price is RM175 though for clear coat, lifetime warranty. can request for discount. phone feels less slippery too, can use without casing |

QUOTE(wkshai @ Oct 5 2017, 12:23 AM) Indeed, super fast than my recently sold n8, s8, s8+, xzp n u11. If your phone is rooted, can install Viper4Android. Brings the audio of OP5 to another levelThis is my 1st time to trying out 1+5, beast phone ever found. Testing the YouTube n FB audio sounds with my currently hd800i n focal utopia. Sounds great with custom equalizer but not as loud like V20 quard dac. |

Pros: - price!! - Dash Charge works just like original - Cable feels like original even though it's not Cons: - need china pin to UK plug adapter (cheap cheap RM3-5 can get) - VOOC charger doesn't look as cool as dash charger |

QUOTE(EpsilonStar @ Nov 12 2017, 07:44 PM) Hi guys would like to check with u guys, how is the battery in op5 holding up? Does it degrade fast? I am using Nexus 6p but the battery in it degrade way too fast... 5T looks like a very tempting option to change to now if battery is holding up well after all the dash charging wear.... 3+ months using OP5, holding up pretty well. Average at about 6 hours of SOT everyday. I only charge my phone once per day usually. Morning 7am unplug, work whole day and still can have 50% at least at 6.30pm. Max I got on Wifi usage is 7 hours SOT with 20% remaining (which probably will result in about 8 hours at 0%). |
