Ip8+ on 11.3b : update on battery drain overnight 8 hours : best so far - only 1%. Looks like is improving over past few days

Update on ip8+ 11.3b : battery drain overnight last nite was shocking 8%!!! The previous night was 1%
The only difference was battery level at 48% last night vs 95% previously
Seems the battery level does affect the standby drain?
I am just monitoring these as an academic exercise only
On firmware 11.1.1 and before battery drain overnight was usually zero and on some ocassions 1% only irrespective of battery levels.
I had previously concluded the newer firmwares are less energy efficient

Yep. 100% will take longer time to drop compare with 50%.

Same theory as vehicle fuel meter I think. For the full bar to drop, it will take some time. But once it started, it will drop at a steady or sometime faster rate.

For SE I think it's a toss-up whether to update or not. If you're happy with the performance of your phone thus far maybe no need to update just yet. 10.3.3 was very stable before 11 came about.

I had a 8 Plus but passed it to my wife already. Waiting for my X to be delivered.

I am afraid to tell about that. But please stay, as the latest iOS might be only work best for latest processor.
