Because the OS has become so complex that it's not viable to test every single thing until 100% ok then release as new iOS version every 3 years.

That's why they have the developer beta and public beta programs.. Not perfect but better than nothing.

Fair enough. But it doesn’t seem like everyone is facing battery life issues. Hard to pin down the cause(s) unless we can capture a system snapshot and submit it with a problem ticket to Apple for investigation. Is there such a feature in iOS?

I know there’s a feedback app in iOS beta but I’ve not faced a major issue to report so far.

No harm to try. As for my ipx I didn’t reduce motion or disable transparency. all apps (except web browsers) can use location ‘while in use’.

Only messaging, email, podcast and spotify have background refresh enabled. I don’t allow this for navigation apps because of privacy concerns.

Battery life is good on my ipx. Significantly better than my previous android phones and my work ip6.

To be frank, I’m more of a user and not a tweaker. I charge my phones overnight and as long as I can reach home without the phone dying I am not concerned about battery drain. Life’s too short to handicap my phone or over-worry about every little percent of battery juice ha ha.

On point 😂 what's the point of having super expensive phone yet have to worry too much or tweak too much in order to use it. Perhaps those who live by the phone might feel the pinch.

Thanks for the detail you shared above. It's useful. Might disallow background refresh for my navigation apps for privacy purposes too. I am using 8+, yes, battery is good too. But the only different is, I don't overcharge my phone I don't know if it hurts the battery to overcharge.

I've always charged my phones overnight, I like that feeling of a full battery when I leave home in the morning.

I can always have the battery replaced after 1-2 years if needed. I'm the master of the phone and not its slave lol..
