I can, no commission needed.
but take note that only aluminium models are available in sg.
they have kept all the SS models for cellular options only and those are not available in sg.

Yup crazy, not only similar to our MBP, A11 also as fast as MBP processor, I read somewhere yesterday..
*
Ya, they mentioned it's as fast as an i7. That is definitely faster than my MBA, ha ha...

In fact, most flagship smartphones these days have more RAM than my MBA as well.

Highly unlikely. Even Apple just add $50 extra on their iphones, it won't go beyond 3.6K.
They always follow the price with previous iphone. So my assumption is around RM3499 or below.

PSA from me: The only way to get unlocked iPhones is to pay full retail price only at official Apple Online/Retail Store. All unlocked iPhones can be used anywhere in the world, regardless of number of supported bands.

Also, to people who are buying from Australia, China, or Hong Kong: Be warned that the model number for sale in Malaysia (A1897/A1905) is different from the iPhones sold there. Same goes for Japan or US iPhones too (unless you go with the AT&T or T-Mobile version).

However, be advised that Malaysian AASPs may not accept warranty claims for models sold overseas. Only iPhones with model numbers sold domestically are guaranteed support by local AASPs.

For more info, checkout this spreadsheet.

^ A1864/A1863 (CDMA) [Sold in AU/US]: May not be warranted locally. Qualcomm modem, can be used on CDMA carriers in US like Verizon or Sprint. Can support FeliCa so you can use Japanese e-money cards like Suica with Apple Pay.

` A1864/A1863 (GSM) [Sold in HK/ZH]: May not be warranted locally. Intel modem, can't be used on CDMA carriers at all. Can support FeliCa so you can use Japanese e-money cards like Suica with Apple Pay.

* A1897/A1905 [Sold in MY/SG/WW]: Fully warranted by local AASPs. Intel modem, can't be used on CDMA carriers at all. Can support FeliCa so you can use Japanese e-money cards like Suica with Apple Pay. iPhones sold in some Middle Eastern countries do not support FaceTime Audio & Video.

º A1898/A1906 [Sold only in JP]: May not be warranted locally. Qualcomm modem, can be used with CDMA carriers in Japan like Softbank or au. Can support FeliCa so you can use Japanese e-money cards like Suica with Apple Pay. iPhones sold in Japan cannot have the camera shutter sound disabled, even in silent mode.

[[Updated for new info: all new iPhones globally support FeliCa]]

unfortunately true, but a bit irrelevant since Malaysia don't even have tri-band CA yet. Our LTE speeds max out well below 500 Mbps.

Yeah, we pay premium & expect something but;

"Maybe more important for consumers today is that even if the network in your area hasn’t upgraded the infrastructure to support Gigabit LTE speeds, the integration of the technology on your phone gives it significant advantages on those older networks. That includes better signal reliability when you are further from a cell tower or inside a building and a better likelihood of maximizing the bandwidth of that network."

if I'm not mistaken, this part doesn't rely fully on Gigabit LTE. it relies on whether the carrier has implemented LTE at sub-1GHz spectrum or not; For Malaysia, that means Webe (750 MHz) and DiGi (900 MHz) notworthy.gif

hopefully, Malaysian telcos will request the models with Qualcomm modems... (not holding my breath though)

Apple's marketing strategy works, no more mid-tier storage option, all go for highest model 256gb.

I’ve updated my post above slightly to reflect how and where iPhone models are sold.
