Ping was vary. Yup, it became slow after completed the quest. all distance were above 5km,  in order to
get to the rider 😌 Bad day for me, I guess. Oh BTW, my playground: klang, bukit tinggi & setia alam.
*
setia alam got trip mer? tat day got one from setia alam send me to puncak alam near kuala selangor, wtf
then no way can come back anymore and no ping already

Setia alam got many shopping places(giant, tesco, setia city mall) and Klang Sentral bus express, but still less ping. Lepak seksyen 7 after this to complete rm40 for 12 trips 😂

You are driving at night, of course less ping when compared to day time. Unless it's a Friday or Saturday night.

Setia Alam / Klang Sentral is one of the few places with good pings in Klang. Quite a number of long trips from that area. And the short trips there aren't very short due to it being a big housing area.

It's like games. When quest is completed, they make it harder to achieve. Last night I went for 3 hours drive, only 3 pings. Feeling tired, went back and lepak kedai,  minum2. lagi syok. 😅

Hope this post will be useful for those new to UG.

having completed >10k UberX trips, 0.2mil km and having kept data since day 1, the daily goal is to achieve rm1(nett of commission) for every km driven. Reset your trip meter every time you start your day so that this can be tracked throughout the day. Will call it a day should this target drift near 0.50/km.

This 1/km is impossible to achieve without the incentives which is
1. Boost (1.1-2.1x)
2. Quest/flash quest (1.30-9.70/trip) btw FQ is extinct now
3. Ace (useless if you make use of 1&2)

1 &2 is announced every Thursday/Sunday evening, so that's the time to work out your schedule for the next few days.

Average speed 21kph. Goes up if more airport trips.

Average cost: fuel 0.16 +50% scheduled maintenance (engine/gear box oil & tyres are the top 2) +25% accelerated depreciation & accident risks. Total 0.28/km

Average dead miles:35% of daily km driven

Barest minimum cost should be 0.50/km and consistent nett earning 10-35/hr..

That's the reason why I go offline when earning drift towards 0.50/km and also when I achieve the daily quest quota.

Btw driver destination which was useful in getting long trips with high boost/surge is useless since the start of the new year.

Would definitely like to hear from those who can consistently achieve >1/km.

Very nice calculation, quite accurate IMO. I don't recall seeing anyone posting these calculations in the forum.
This will show all the newbie drivers that "the more you drive, the more you earn" is total bullshit by Uber.
The more you drive, the more Uber makes from commission - this should be the truth.
Sadly, many drivers are still driving blindly without calculating.

Klang Town, Bukit Tinggi Klang.
UiTM, Seksyen 7 Shah Alam.
Sunway area, SS15 Subang.
UM area.

These are the areas that I will usually avoid, unless I almost reach the trip target.

At least 90% short trips, I hate it.
It's a waste of time, total charity work.
You can drive non-stop for hours doing these short trips and make only rm50.

I also kena before, 4 hours driving non-stop around Sunway - gross ~rm40.
And I haven't calc my fuel some more.
Terus offline, and went to play Dota 2 at SS15 laugh.gif

rm20... @@
Get 1 mid distance trip is already more than that amount.
Really pathetic quest.

I totally disagree (see my earlier post on how you can earn or lose money).

Since the incentives are based on number of trips (regardless of distance), the shorter the trip, the lower your costs so effectively you earn more.

What's the point of doing an airport trip that earns you additional rm3 incentive when you can earn the same by doing a short 0.5km trip?

Many drivers are making the mistake of equating total fares with higher earnings when they don't take into account their costs. In reality the more you drive without incentives, even if your total fares are sky high, you may end up doing charity work

Long trips are only worth doing when the boost/surge is very high else you can never get anything close to rm1/km. Unlike before, without the SD feature, getting a long trip with surge/boost above 2x is like striking 4d

haha well said

I always hantam short trip on super peak period and ignore long trip

really feels great clocking 20 short trips per day than 10 long trips per day laugh.gif rclxms.gif

highest ignored ever is RM60 - RM120 range laugh.gif rclxms.gif

I don't agree with you either.
There was a time when there is no PHG and no quest bonus.
Even now with the quest bonus, it's super low if you are driving actively every week.

Airport trip is not worth it because you will be returning home empty.
And FYI, different cars have different fuel consumption.
For my car, the longer the distance the more efficient.
Short distance trips might consume up to 2x more petrol per km.

And what do you do when you have already reached your Uber quest target ?
Turn on Grab and continue driving ?

Ya rite Super Peak - but this is not Grab we are talking about.
20x rm3-4 trips.
Or 2x rm30 trips.

I'd choose the latter.
Definitely faster to complete and lesser pickup distance (dead weight).
And also lesser ppl stepping into my car.
