QUOTE(Utopia Angel @ Jan 20 2018, 12:18 AM) Ya rite Super Peak - but this is not Grab we are talking about. Want to get RM30 after deduct commission with Uber... Without Surge or Boost... You need to drive 40km like that. 20x rm3-4 trips. Or 2x rm30 trips. I'd choose the latter. Definitely faster to complete and lesser pickup distance (dead weight). And also lesser ppl stepping into my car. Assuming you take highway and can complete the trip in 40 minutes... 40km*0.7 = RM28 40 minutes*0.3 = RM12 RM12+RM28+RM0.95 = RM40.95 Minus 25% = RM30.71 Per km you only get 77 sen. The only way to reduce costs and increase earnings per km, is to filter pings until you get pick up distances that are very close to you. Like less than 2km. And pray you don't get long distance trips without Surge or Boost. I fucking hate it when I get a 30km trip that will take like 38 minutes to complete. Because of that, I don't get any "40 minutes plus" warning. This post has been edited by JohnL77: Jan 21 2018, 05:17 AM |

QUOTE(ys2233 @ Jan 17 2018, 07:41 PM) Hope this post will be useful for those new to UG. Good post. having completed >10k UberX trips, 0.2mil km and having kept data since day 1, the daily goal is to achieve rm1(nett of commission) for every km driven. Reset your trip meter every time you start your day so that this can be tracked throughout the day. Will call it a day should this target drift near 0.50/km. This 1/km is impossible to achieve without the incentives which is 1. Boost (1.1-2.1x) 2. Quest/flash quest (1.30-9.70/trip) btw FQ is extinct now 3. Ace (useless if you make use of 1&2) 1 &2 is announced every Thursday/Sunday evening, so that's the time to work out your schedule for the next few days. Average speed 21kph. Goes up if more airport trips. Average cost: fuel 0.16 +50% scheduled maintenance (engine/gear box oil & tyres are the top 2) +25% accelerated depreciation & accident risks. Total 0.28/km Average dead miles:35% of daily km driven Barest minimum cost should be 0.50/km and consistent nett earning 10-35/hr.. That's the reason why I go offline when earning drift towards 0.50/km and also when I achieve the daily quest quota. Btw driver destination which was useful in getting long trips with high boost/surge is useless since the start of the new year. Would definitely like to hear from those who can consistently achieve >1/km. I also aim for minimum RM1/km. But it's really hard to achieve if I only go out to drive for a few hours and not an entire day. Because one of the biggest dead weights is the drive back home and the starting drive to whatever port I think I will have luck at. I'm still not sure about the value of Ace. I guess we can view it as a 1.3x Boost Incentive. But the problem is... Is a 1.3x Boost worth it for short trips? If you kena a bloody RM3 job, you net earnings will only be RM2.25. Which cannot cover your pick up distance and drop off at all. Cannot get RM1/km. With Ace top up 30%, you get RM2.925. Is it worth it to do these short trips just to barely get RM1/km? Assuming you filter all your trips until the pick up distance is less than 2km la... And the other problem with Ace is, if you chase Boost and Surge, probably by the time you hit the trip tiers, your earnings are already more than the guaranteed amount.... Which leads back to my previous question, is it worth it to do short trips without Surge or Boost just to get a 30% top up? Another problem I'm facing is, my favorite short trip port is closed. Until bloody February when Ace's 2nd trial period will be over. Ya, you guys can probably guess where that is now. Over on Grab's side pulak... Today Uber quite boring starting from my home. No pings. No Boost, no Surge. So I installed back Grab and... kena a bunch of smelly riders. It's been a very long time since I last picked up maprens. Don't miss them at all. Couldn't tahan, install back Uber hoping to catch the 7pm 1.4x Boost in PJ... And today was a really bad day with Uber for me... I camp in 1.4x area, but kena ping from 1.2x area. I thought what the heck, still early in the hour, maybe by the time I complete this trip, I can catch another 1.4x trip. But the bloody rider put pick up location as KL Gateway Mall, but she was waiting at the bus stop on the other side of the road... I don't know why I didn't just cancel and take the cancellation fee... I was hoping it would be a medium distance trip so it'd still be worth it to u-turn and go and pick her up. But nope! Her destination was only 1km away. In the end I get RM3.74 when I could have cancelled and gotten RM3.75... Then as I drove back to the 1.4x area, Digi decided to buat hal and lose connection, so I had to restart my phone. Time wasted again... After restarting my phone, kena an idiot rider no show... As usual, the guard halau me... So I cancel. After I cancel only this bugger want to call me. Then his friend pulak make the same booking. Same pick up location. I suspect it's his friend la, because both also Indian names... In the end, the only 1.4x trip I got was some stupid short trip from UM student... Sigh...... Really regret not hitting my target during the 1st Ace trial... This post has been edited by JohnL77: Jan 21 2018, 05:16 AM |

QUOTE(Utopia Angel @ Jan 21 2018, 11:59 AM) rm0.77/km or whatever. About RM6 net. So ngam ngam hou RM1/km.Have you tried calculating short trips ? Parameter : 2 km pickup, 4 km distance, total time 15 mins. I don't think rm1/km is possible with Uber nowadays. I am bloody sure it's going to be way lower LOL... 15 minutes*.3 = RM4.50 4km*.7 = RM2.80 4.5+2.8+0.95 = RM8.25 Minus 25% = RM6.19 This post has been edited by JohnL77: Jan 21 2018, 12:16 PM |

QUOTE(Utopia Angel @ Jan 21 2018, 12:16 PM) Wah, 4 km trip is rm6-7 nowadays ? Ceh.. Why didn't say 15 minutes is total time to pick up and drop-off? What did I miss... ? Eh, the time is total time spent is including pickup and waiting 2-3 mins lar. Somemore pray that the upfront fare doesn't fcuk up. Then you tell la how long to pick up, how long to drop off? QUOTE(Utopia Angel @ Jan 21 2018, 12:16 PM) Wah, 4 km trip is rm6-7 nowadays ? You have a very good point about the upfront fare not fucking up.What did I miss... ? Eh, the time is total time spent is including pickup and waiting 2-3 mins lar. Somemore pray that the upfront fare doesn't fcuk up. But sometimes it works to our advantage when Waze recommends a shorter and faster route than the one calculated by Uber. This post has been edited by JohnL77: Jan 21 2018, 12:31 PM |

QUOTE(Utopia Angel @ Jan 21 2018, 12:31 PM) 5 mins total pickup + waiting. 10 minutes from pick up to drop off, then will be about RM5 net. So about 83 sen per km. Higher than long distance trip.10 mins from pickup to drop-off. Average numbers lar... Like dis can ar ? But you are right, waste of time. And you are also right, hope the upfront fare doesn't fuck up. So conclusion is, no Boost no Surge, really charity drive. |

QUOTE(Utopia Angel @ Jan 21 2018, 12:34 PM) Cos I kena many times in PJ during peak hours. Yes I kena before also. Even though the fare that I calculated was 25% different from their upfront fare, they didn't want to change it.Time calculation is totally off, 30 mins trip due to jam calc as 10-15 mins only. Sent in report to CS to dispute also no use nowadays. But then I noticed that sometimes Upfront fare works to our advantage if Waze suggests a shorter route. So I let go the matter. |

QUOTE(wa1k3r @ Jan 23 2018, 03:51 PM) No need report, i can already tell u what they gonna say. This is upfront pricing, we have to honor it, rider love upfront pricing with no suprise and bcos of that increase in demand bla bla bla..basically tell u fuck off, u collect & earn whatever the fuck we give u Just try and report. If they give standard reply, post it to their Facebook or something. Buat kecoh or something. It was super jam. Suppose take only <4mins.. Ya, the private school go off at 3pm i think..like i said, just avoid and dont be tempted to drive in that area during that hour. This upfront pricing thingy is really the dumbest policy on earth. Traffic jam can occur anytime of the day due to the smallest issue like accident etc..uber's map service does not monitor real time traffic.. But anyways la..take this as lesson learnt the hard way.. Upfront pricing is the dumbest? Grab's fixed price is dumber. That day got one passenger tell me to take the wrong way then it was a huge round to get back to his destination. Total distance become double. Luckily it was Uber, not Grab. Then he report me for Navigation. Wadefak? I change his rating to 2 stars. |

QUOTE(Utopia Angel @ Jan 23 2018, 06:22 PM) Upfront fare is actually the brightest idea by their execs. If rider suggest stupid route, of course rider's fault. This way, fare remains low and riders are happy to continue using Uber - and the loss is transferred to the drivers. And Uber keeps leeching on the commission, 2x win situation for them. Well, Grab has it's weaknesses as well. But then, you can see the fare before accepting a trip - so you can blame no one if it sux. And also if you're trapped in an unexpected traffic, you have HG to fall back to. Income-wise, Grab beats Uber by a mile. Drive for fun, maybe Uber. But fixed fare. So go beat up rider to lepas geram. |

QUOTE(bafukie @ Jan 26 2018, 10:19 PM) No motivation to go do.Mathematically impossible to get the Guaranteed amount. If you do all short trips, top up maximum 30%, you won't get the full guaranteed amount. Unless you also get a lot of Surge, Boost, and Quest incentives. But if Surge, sure jam like shit. If Boost, all drivers camping there so you wait until die for pings. So how are you going hit your trips target? If you don't aim for the highest 170 trips tier, then it's easy to get the lower tier guaranteed amount by just targeting Surge and Boost and Quest. So you don't get any top up. 170 trips per week. Madness. So really useless Ace V2. This post has been edited by JohnL77: Jan 30 2018, 05:21 PM |

QUOTE(bcombat @ Feb 6 2018, 12:22 PM) u can try to on the new ublur app trip preferences feature which auto accept all trips with rider rating 4.7 and pick up time less than 6 minutes. Really got people go and do Ace 2nd trial? I didn't see anybody post their results on Fesbuk. but then again the system will auto accept the long trips > 40 mins w/o we knowing it, which means we needs more time finishing the quest or ace program. if outstation trips lagi jialak. Really miss Ace 1st trial... |
