Want to get RM30 after deduct commission with Uber... Without Surge or Boost... You need to drive 40km like that.

Assuming you take highway and can complete the trip in 40 minutes...

40km*0.7 = RM28
40 minutes*0.3 = RM12

RM12+RM28+RM0.95 = RM40.95

Minus 25% = RM30.71

Per km you only get 77 sen.


The only way to reduce costs and increase earnings per km, is to filter pings until you get pick up distances that are very close to you. Like less than 2km.

And pray you don't get long distance trips without Surge or Boost.

I fucking hate it when I get a 30km trip that will take like 38 minutes to complete. Because of that, I don't get any "40 minutes plus" warning.

I also aim for minimum RM1/km. But it's really hard to achieve if I only go out to drive for a few hours and not an entire day.

Because one of the biggest dead weights is the drive back home and the starting drive to whatever port I think I will have luck at.

I'm still not sure about the value of Ace.

I guess we can view it as a 1.3x Boost Incentive.

But the problem is... Is a 1.3x Boost worth it for short trips?

If you kena a bloody RM3 job, you net earnings will only be RM2.25. Which cannot cover your pick up distance and drop off at all. Cannot get RM1/km. With Ace top up 30%, you get RM2.925.

Is it worth it to do these short trips just to barely get RM1/km? Assuming you filter all your trips until the pick up distance is less than 2km la...


And the other problem with Ace is, if you chase Boost and Surge, probably by the time you hit the trip tiers, your earnings are already more than the guaranteed amount....

Which leads back to my previous question, is it worth it to do short trips without Surge or Boost just to get a 30% top up?


Another problem I'm facing is, my favorite short trip port is closed. Until bloody February when Ace's 2nd trial period will be over. Ya, you guys can probably guess where that is now.


Over on Grab's side pulak... Today Uber quite boring starting from my home. No pings. No Boost, no Surge. So I installed back Grab and... kena a bunch of smelly riders. It's been a very long time since I last picked up maprens. Don't miss them at all.

Couldn't tahan, install back Uber hoping to catch the 7pm 1.4x Boost in PJ... And today was a really bad day with Uber for me...

I camp in 1.4x area, but kena ping from 1.2x area. I thought what the heck, still early in the hour, maybe by the time I complete this trip, I can catch another 1.4x trip.

But the bloody rider put pick up location as KL Gateway Mall, but she was waiting at the bus stop on the other side of the road... I don't know why I didn't just cancel and take the cancellation fee... I was hoping it would be a medium distance trip so it'd still be worth it to u-turn and go and pick her up.

But nope! Her destination was only 1km away. In the end I get RM3.74 when I could have cancelled and gotten RM3.75...

Then as I drove back to the 1.4x area, Digi decided to buat hal and lose connection, so I had to restart my phone. Time wasted again...

After restarting my phone, kena an idiot rider no show... As usual, the guard halau me... So I cancel. After I cancel only this bugger want to call me. Then his friend pulak make the same booking. Same pick up location. I suspect it's his friend la, because both also Indian names...

In the end, the only 1.4x trip I got was some stupid short trip from UM student... Sigh......



Really regret not hitting my target during the 1st Ace trial...

About RM6 net. So ngam ngam hou RM1/km.

15 minutes*.3 = RM4.50
4km*.7 = RM2.80

4.5+2.8+0.95 = RM8.25

Minus 25% = RM6.19

You have a very good point about the upfront fare not fucking up.



But sometimes it works to our advantage when Waze recommends a shorter and faster route than the one calculated by Uber.

10 minutes from pick up to drop off, then will be about RM5 net. So about 83 sen per km. Higher than long distance trip.

But you are right, waste of time.

And you are also right, hope the upfront fare doesn't fuck up.

So conclusion is, no Boost no Surge, really charity drive.

Yes I kena before also. Even though the fare that I calculated was 25% different from their upfront fare, they didn't want to change it.

But then I noticed that sometimes Upfront fare works to our advantage if Waze suggests a shorter route. So I let go the matter.

Wow wtf... This one definitely needs to be adjusted..

I don't feel it's worth it. No Boost no Surge, and will get pings go to places very far from my home.

Sometimes get European CS, sometimes get Pinoy. European CS more professional.

Just try and report. If they give standard reply, post it to their Facebook or something. Buat kecoh or something.

Upfront pricing is the dumbest?

Grab's fixed price is dumber.

That day got one passenger tell me to take the wrong way then it was a huge round to get back to his destination. Total distance become double.

Luckily it was Uber, not Grab. Then he report me for Navigation. Wadefak? I change his rating to 2 stars.

If rider suggest stupid route, of course rider's fault.

But fixed fare.

So go beat up rider to lepas geram.

No motivation to go do.

Mathematically impossible to get the Guaranteed amount.

If you do all short trips, top up maximum 30%, you won't get the full guaranteed amount. Unless you also get a lot of Surge, Boost, and Quest incentives. But if Surge, sure jam like shit. If Boost, all drivers camping there so you wait until die for pings. So how are you going hit your trips target?

If you don't aim for the highest 170 trips tier, then it's easy to get the lower tier guaranteed amount by just targeting Surge and Boost and Quest. So you don't get any top up.

170 trips per week. Madness.

So really useless Ace V2.

Just hit the Quest target then go back to Grab la. What will you lose? Nobody force you accept those 9-10km pick up jobs.
