Used gas stove previously when living with parents. Now new house using electric stove. Maggi mee and my boiled water come out all right. Steak also came out all right. All sorts of food ...curry, stew, bihun thng, porridge, fried rice, Scramble eggs also came out all right. Dunno issit my old gas stove is lacking on the features but for electric stove you can set timer on when it will stop the heat. You can put on heat mode to keep food hot. You can use the presets to boil water and leave it there, it will switch off when the water is done. Never go to calculate the running cost though. No electricty ....no need cook la. No need to remove parts to clean...it has a flat surface ...just use sponge and cloth to wipe off any food residue.

Me and my wife in the house aircond (inverter) switched on min 8 hrs a day. Electricity bill RM50 to RM 60 monthly. Weekends we are normally chilling at home as well.
Not sure is the led lighting and newer energy saving electricals(3 years old tech fridge, washing machine, dryer, microwave, ) the contributor to low electricity consumption.

Uncle, ask you if I have a bunch of t5s and t8s with normal tube bulbs...wanna convert to led can ah ? need change what?

can liao. go to hardware store, sometime tescogot aeonbig got, giant got, Phillips LED tube for old fluorescent casing. It comes with a special starter, the LED tube might be expensive that fluorescent one, but in the long run (and the light quality) also much2 better

agree on seronok memasak using gas stove. much2 more satisfaction. for convenient and ease of use, use electric stove.

induction is not cheap and that easy to use. halogen is much2 better

Which one more jimat?

any pro & cons?
*
Got 3 major types:
1) Gas
2) Ceramic/Hot Plate
3) Induction

The most efficient use of energy > Induction
The cheapest to operate > Gas
* Valid for Malaysia and surrounding laugh.gif

GAS
Pro
Cheap
Can use any cooking utensil

Con
Gas leak/Explosion
Need to keep extra tong or wait for new tong to arrive if out of gas
Lot of power (heat) wasted
Hard to clean

CERAMIC
Pro
Can use any cooking utensil
Easy to Clean (Flat surface)

Con
Electric more expensive
May require separate wiring for high amp need

INDUCTION
Pro
Easy to Clean (Flat surface)
Most efficient of energy transfer

Con
Need to use cooking utensil only meant for induction hob
Need to use flat bottom wok (curve induction hob available but rare and limited of use.

You can buy cheap direct replacement at DIY. It shows how to do minor wiring change when removing ballast
