Got 3 major types:
1) Gas
2) Ceramic/Hot Plate
3) Induction

The most efficient use of energy > Induction
The cheapest to operate > Gas
* Valid for Malaysia and surrounding laugh.gif

GAS
Pro
Cheap
Can use any cooking utensil

Con
Gas leak/Explosion
Need to keep extra tong or wait for new tong to arrive if out of gas
Lot of power (heat) wasted
Hard to clean

CERAMIC
Pro
Can use any cooking utensil
Easy to Clean (Flat surface)

Con
Electric more expensive
May require separate wiring for high amp need

INDUCTION
Pro
Easy to Clean (Flat surface)
Most efficient of energy transfer

Con
Need to use cooking utensil only meant for induction hob
Need to use flat bottom wok (curve induction hob available but rare and limited of use.

Me and my wife in the house aircond (inverter) switched on min 8 hrs a day. Electricity bill RM50 to RM 60 monthly. Weekends we are normally chilling at home as well.
Not sure is the led lighting and newer energy saving electricals(3 years old tech fridge, washing machine, dryer, microwave, ) the contributor to low electricity consumption.

Uncle, ask you if I have a bunch of t5s and t8s with normal tube bulbs...wanna convert to led can ah ? need change what?

You can buy cheap direct replacement at DIY. It shows how to do minor wiring change when removing ballast
