A few of them here managed to get 875 for less than RM3.5K. maxovista, aiman04 and ALPS2008 are few of them.

QUOTE(saintos @ Apr 15 2009, 12:13 AM) hello sifu's..can anyone please teach me how to post pics please.detailed explanaition,...have been trying a while but not successfull.. Probably the fastest way is to attach the pics to your post. 1. When you are composing your post there is a section at the bottom called "File Attachments". 2. Click on the "Browse" button and go to the file you wish to attach then click "Open". 3. Then click "Add this Attachment" button - your file will be uploaded to LYN 4. Once uploaded u will then see your file name at the bottom of page then you click "Add into Post" 5. Then in your message you will see a code saying "[attachmentid=XXX]" The XXX is a random number assigned by LYN. Your pic is now attached to your post and you're done. |

saintos,
Congrats on posting the pictures! Very nice HT room you have. Wanna ask about the Auralex room treatment that you have. Was the type and position suggested by the dealer? What differences have you noticed after putting them in? Oh, one last thing - how big is your room? And how far are you sitting away from the screen? |

Thanks for the detailed reply.
Does Nelson need to come visit your room in order to advise what room treatment to get and where to place it? That Mini Fuser is interesting if it can make the room sound big. It's a good feeling to fulfill your dream of a HT right? I plan to join the club soon... |

QUOTE(htkaki @ Apr 16 2009, 10:54 PM) My friend who is using auralex told me that he just bought one for his B&W center speaker. He said the vocal sounds a lot better now. Gonna check it out. I'm curious how he installed the Mini Fusor on his center speaker to improve the sound. I thought it goes on the wall or ceiling. |

QUOTE(fourzee @ Apr 17 2009, 03:38 PM) Ideal size? As big as you can make it! Seriously though, it's more about the proportion between the width, height and depth. As saintos mentioned, a square room isn't ideal. Some suggested proportions from another website: 1 : 1.14 : 1.39 1 : 1.28 : 1.54 1 : 1.6 : 2.33 H : W : D I don't think you have to follow that exactly though. Another factor is how big a screen do you want? Remember that one of the recommendations is to sit 1.5x - 2x the width of the screen. So if you have a 92" diagonal screen (which is 80" wide) then you need to sit between 120" - 160" away from it and this will determine how long a room you need. |

QUOTE(lousycar @ May 12 2009, 01:15 PM) I am with you on this s6xs9x. Agree with the proposal too.I think it will be good if this thread is kept for just Picture gallery only. This thread is sometimes flooded with non-related talk. This thread has too many posts to clean up. Maybe combine with the thread just listing the HT specs - so in one thread only the pics and the specs. |

QUOTE(s6xs9x @ May 13 2009, 11:23 AM) Ok, this weekend I'll snap a few. You're using foam pads right? Is it those that look like egg crates?I followed you bro's recommendation for the fixtures, since my sitting position is smack wall to wall. "sofa at one wall and screen on the other" I placed 4 sheets behind my front speakers and 2 pcs behind my sofa. I'm able to push back my front speaker nearer to the wall and clear the walk way. Bass if much fuller and tight. no more loose and messy. Clarity from the horns are so clear and soothing, unlike before where it tends to irritate. Yep, you're correct about the echo problems .. reflections of sound create a delay and turns out compressed. Layering is ok ok .. maybe i need a better player and source. |

QUOTE(scotty @ May 14 2009, 07:15 PM) there's a thread pinned up about your ht setup. dear forumers, you may start posting your hi-end audio stuff there. will close this thread soon, if there is no objection I think the other thread purely for specs and pictures right? But no general discussion or talk about HT. So maybe we can keep this thread for general HT talk? |

I came across a shop in Ipoh today selling the egg crate type of foam. It comes as a large piece about 3.5' x 6'. Price was RM43.
Being one piece, means you have to cut it yourself if you want smaller sizes. One thing I noticed is also the ends (presumably where they cut one piece from another) are very ragged. So again have to DIY to trim it. Anyone got any ideas for best way to trim foam neatly? This post has been edited by jchong: May 15 2009, 04:38 PM |

Yeah, the finishing on the edge is a concern. But if can DIY cut neatly then save a lot.

QUOTE(htkaki @ May 19 2009, 09:23 PM) Bro, so there would be 2nd batch of the acoustic foams? Great. A pair is not enough for my room as the 2 pairs were meant for my bro. Do let us know if you can find similar to Auralex foam, which is higher density type. The one I found is just the normal type.I have to fine tune my room. Btw, I am in the midst of sourcing those similar foams that Auralex use. Just chat with the boss about it. I will take my Subdude to show him. How do you fine tune room acoustics? Do you move the panels around and test? This acoustics thing seems like very much trial and error. |
