Actually this is nice, except that the screen is too high. For fixed panels (ie, CRT, plasma, LCD), the correct viewing angle from the centre of the screen to the eye should not exceed 15degrees. It is better if it is less than 10degrees from your eye level. It is more comfortable for the eyes to be as level or below eye level (same not more than 15degrees).

Very pleasing look. However, with such a dedicated room I wonder why the owner didn't go for big projector screen setup? hmm.gif

Also from a performance viewpoint, perhaps the room colours are too light.

He got some nice equipment there, but I think the furniture looks really bad. The whole thing just don't look that cool or smooth to the eye. I hope I don't offend him, but that is just my view. When I look at the picture, i see "patches" (rectangular blocks) all over. I personally prefer minimalist style.

Something like this...

I believe those patches are part of the acoustic treatment.

I too prefer a minimalist style, but unfortunately if you want proper acoustic treatment those absorbers/diffusers/traps will start to intrude into the minimalism. I guess we can ameliorate that by color matching, like in this picture you showed earlier (the acoustic panels are color blended with the room):

Yes, spot on. Acoustic treatment.

Not easy to have a proper acoustic treated room to look good (it's all abt $$$) and typical Malaysia houses are small.

The color matching (sort of beige color) on that photo looks good but I wouldn't want to hurt my neck watching the tv rclxub.gif . It sld have been fitted at abt the center speaker's height to get a proper 'eye-level'. The rack is too tall. Nevertheless, nice gears.
