Nope. Its all about value for money. Its the cheapest for SSD with DRAM cache.
*

DRAM SSD champion still 250GB Seagate.

480GB got new champion already Kingston UV500 at RM260+

I owned both, no such issue as shuttering.

Talking about former. MX500 was the cheapest for 500GB.

Yes, UV500 also got DRAM.

I must update forumer, price dropping very fast these days.

Always buy the cheapest good ones. rclxm9.gif

Pretty soon 1TB can hit RM300 range. brows.gif

which brand n model for best value for money?
*

did u read my post a few pages b4?

For SATA 6 port here is a few:
120GB = Kingston UV500
250GB = Seagate SSD
480-500GB = Kingston UV500, top up about RM60-70 for Crucial 500GB MX500 if you want

SSD 860 EVO 500GB vs Crucial MX500 500GB which one is less rma for sata 3 ?
btw
How do we know m.2 nvme are fully on the pcie bus  ?

as for NVMe , having 2 pcie x16 slot on motherboard but one already use up for Graphic card.
does x2 x4 x16 mode on pcie or 3.0 2.0 have any effect on speed ?

You will RMA your motherboard, graphic card & other parts in your PC long before you RMA a SSD.

for the connection interface, check motherboard manual.

Was browsing Lazada and was tempted by the Kingston/Adata SSDs 240GB only cost about RM100+. Then saw the 480GB SSDs going for around RM250. Damn cheap. But after reading this thread, decided to go with either Crucial MX500 OR Samsung 860 Evo.

In the end bought 250GB Samsung 860 Evo. Nice upgrade over my old Intel 160GB I bought back in 2011(Cost a fortune too, but hands down best piece of hardware I ever bought back then) Prolong my E8400 until last year.

Now wait a bit more buy 1TB cheap SSDs to store stuff and retire my Harddisks.
*

wasted money, pay extra for same speed lol.

THat Samsung 860evo wont be any faster than Seagate/Kingston SSD due to Sata 2 limit on your E8400 PC.

that used to be the case but now nvme ssd prices are so close to ssds... and its cheaper pergb cost at the moment at 1tb.
*

a lot people still dont have nvme compatitble PC lah.

I think best bang of buck per GB atm is still 480gb-512GB class.

SSD and Ram might raise price again in next few months.
Since the sales and production is increasing in last few weeks.
And also ryzen 3gen is coming.
It would be better to get your SSD and Ram within next month.

not really they are transitioning to 96 layer nand stacks. Means higher capacities. I still see Nand continue to drop for entire 2019.

Those nand makers cannot slow down & monopoly anymore. There chinese Nand maker is catching up in technology.

just bought Patriot burst 240gb for RM125 with shopee 18% coin cashback. (About ~RM22.)

So the 240GB SSD is about RM103. It is to be use on a Sata 2computer with H61 motherboard. hopefully I wont regret this haha.
