2k is a nice budget, you can actually buy you a branded bike which is actually useful and up to date.
I am not a brand guy, will let brand people talk you into which brand. At this budget, you can have decent 10speed free hub wheels. Double chainring is up to how weak your legs are, strong legs only ride single chainring. Ultra strong legs ride single speed. Hollowtech crankset. Buy as expensive ad you can afford but cheapest hollowtech is as good as top range square tapered. Set aside RM200~300 to try cassette and chainring of various teeth. This is the only real tuning process you need and only you can do and decide. Don't buy mechanical disc brakes... Either hydraulic disc brakes or other rim braked. We must some how has to move away from tour de France specifications for recreational folding bike.
Get real, trailing RB is not everyone can do on a 20" or smaller without a motor. Who wanna join me on 40km/h average speed ride? I ride a 18kg Dahon Boardwalk (single speed chromoly frame) with nuvinci strepless internal geared hub, 32 DTswiss #13 spokes single cross on SunRingle Envy 406 rims, scwalbe big apple 2" tires. Only 250w geared font hub motor. 48v 10Ah pack. With full span mud guard. I am only 110kg now, almost obese.old and frail. |

QUOTE(Spectreoutreach @ Jun 5 2019, 11:44 AM) very hard to find foldable bike that can support heavier people . i almost want to buy mounted bike with fat tires or buy those bike with electric motor . It comes with Rm2000 + Actually, the frame hinge isn't the limitation for heavy people like us. The folding head tube is the weak link. The other weak link in all types of bikes is the wheel spoke, those 32 spoke is the bare minimum but new bike sellers never fail to supply with 28 and less spokes. I have to resort to BMX wheel rims to have a safe ride. Oh ya, I don't feel safe and comfortable with anything less than 1-3/8" tire… it's just me~ 2000+? Nah… for my Boardwalk, I stop keeping receipt after 4k. I now started building my own battery packs. This post has been edited by KenC: Jun 5 2019, 02:54 PM |
