Hong Kong is the first to receive i8 around 20th November cos Dahon Factory in Shenzhen is just a stone throw away. By 3rd week of December, Thailand Japan had received 40 units each.

Thailand increased 2,000 baht each for 4 remaining un-prebook bikes. They were snapped up within 2 days upon arrival.
I think there are 2 unsold units in US. USD1,848 + USD250 shipping and another upgraded i11 in HK for RM8,100. This post has been edited by gataddhin: Jan 12 2018, 10:45 PM |

You can get a Dahon Curl i8 bike from Thailand for 37,900 Baht or RM4,600. You can still sell it at a good price in Singapore if you don't like it. I know it is priced at S$2,600 in Singapore.
All 20" bikes are above 160cm or 170cm precisely. |

All depend on types of your bicycle tours. From Dilgoh's posts, he wants a reasonable cheap and compact folding bike which does not exceed 158cm air baggage allowance.
I have joined more than 10 overseas rides with different bikes owners. Surlys, Dahons, Terns, Bike Friday, Hummer, Birdy and Bromptons. We alll checked in as sports equipments. I see the only bike can checked in as normal baggage is Brompton. Some took more time to set up the bikes but with practise, time will be shorter. I advised 1 Surly friend to change foldable pedals as he took more time to fix his normal pedals. Another Tern friend, no longer removes his bike fenders and rear rack. We were waiting for him to set up his fenders and rear rack upon arrival at airport. Now, most of my friends take less than 15 0r 20 minutes to set up a bike in airport, including folding up the bike cardboard box. Always practise at home. |

First time I packed this way. The bike was packed inside Tern Stow Bag with padded lining. I slotted bicycle box cardboard surrounding the bike. Bought RM5 large polypropylene bag from Mandalay wet market to give extra protection from scratches. Flew bike from Mandalay to KL via Bangkok.

Thanks for your suggestion with pvc pipes.
I think I did not cover the bottom properly. When the baggage handler dropped my bike package from the baggage trailer, it landed on the rear wheel and the chainring. It was my first time I released the tubes air fully. Thus no tube protection for the rear rim. Once I dropped my bike from KTM upper sleeping berth. The tires took the impact. No damage. |

QUOTE(H2D @ Jan 28 2018, 09:32 PM) did you label the baggage as bicycle? I drew a huge picture of bicycle and a side up arrow on both sides of my parcel and wrapped around with fragile tapes.if they know it is a bicycle, maybe will be more careful ..... Still damaged. I read somewhere that it is best to use a TV box with TV photo on sides of box to pack our bikes. Most likely they will handle with care. |

For more practical reason, hanging the leather bag on saddle is better.
If you ride solo and can carry your bike towards the back table of almost full house coffee shop for meal. Never leave your bike out of sight. |

Due to favourable exchange rate, I ordered some items from AliExpress. Anyone bought ultrasonic dog repeller? Which brand is reliable?
Generally I have no issues with dogs but with one repeller, it is better. |

Yes I totally agreed with you. As I said, I have no issues with dogs. Just that sometimes 1 or 2 dogs that came too near.
Last April, I cycled 800km thru mostly village roads in Thailand. Just imagine how many dogs that I had met, worst was cycling thru rubber plantations, their territories. |
