If you haven't driven taxi before, do you feel you have the energy and stamina to drive 10 hours per day, just to ensure you can pay the rental + 25% commission + petrol, then only get a profit?

If we don't talk about the sifus, normal drivers with not much experience earn average RM20 gross per hour. If you gross RM200 per day, RM50 go to commission, RM55 go to rental, RM45 go to petrol, very little profit left.  RM50 for 10 hours work, might as well work at McD for RM5.50 per hour.

is it legal for a driver to negotiate a higher fare as stated in app?

yesterday @ 2am i try to book grab and this one driver ask for rm20 instead of rm11 for 5.5km. the reason is jalan jauh and balik kosong.

too bad i did not screenshot the conversation. and i immediately cancel the booking.
