also not sure what router their giving either, but i already have an Asus AC68u, is that good enough for 100mbps?  hmm.gif  or is the unifi router going to be better? any thoughts.
The ASUS RT-AC68U is leaps and bounds better than the TP-Link Archer C1200

Now with 86U I scare 68U will be neglected.
ASUS is not TP-Link or D-Link
They don't neglect their old routers
Even the old RT-N16 that was launched in 2010 is still getting firmware update in this year unlike TP-Link / D-Link who abandon their old routers after 1 year of production

Are you able to achieved 100Mbps on ur Asus 68U? I mean all ur devices can get 100Mbps speed on 2.4ghz and 5ghz?
Getting 100Mb/s is not dependant on your router, but the device that you're using itself
Most devices limits 72Mb/s on 2.4GHz

Only very few devices can reach 100Mb/s on 2.4GHz

No. I didn't enable the smart connect

And for the love of god, stop asking about 100Mb/s on 2.4GHz

I'm really confused and mad now not able to get 100Mbps on my any devices... Should have stick with 0Mbps plan  mad.gif
Disable Smart Connect then follow my settings below for 5GHz
I can get 100Mb/s on all my devices as long as I connect them to 5GHz

not everybody can get 100mbps on 2.4ghz but it is still possible lo
It’s not about anybody, it’s the devices they use
And most 2.4GHz devices does not support 100Mb/s on 2.4GHz

It’s just some people are just too fixated on using 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz sweat.gif

sHawTY is it advisable to update ASUS router to latest firmware ? Just afraid after updating router will not be stable ...
It's always a good idead to update to the latest firmware
Firmware update fixes bugs, close security loophole, errors in the previous firmware & add new features

Well a lots of difference between 2ghz and 5ghz on 100Mbps.Hmmm confused.gif  :
As mentioned previously, there's nothing else you can do with the 2.4GHz
Even if you use the most expensive ASUS router which is the GT-AC5300, you still won't get 100Mb/s on 2.4GHz
100Mb/s can only be achieved with 5GHz

It's the limitation of 2.4GHz devices

How to know I'm using latest firmware for ASUS router ? Any way to check ?
Check at ASUS website then compare it to the version number on your router la

Anyone here can recommend me good 5Ghz WIFI USB adapter .Need to used it to fully utilized my 100Mbps speed...
WiFi adapter doesn't need to be ASUS, even TP-Link is fine
Are you going to use this on a laptop or desktop?

Both for desktop and laptop... Need to utilise fully 100Mbps..
For desktop, buy the card below instead of using USB WiFi adaptor
TP-Link Archer T6E PCI-Express WiFi Card

For laptop, state the make and model of your laptop
Perhaps we can just change the internal WiFi card in your laptop instead of using external USB
So please provide the full model number of your laptop

No, im not use the lan cable. but ihave test at many device include laptop.
Connect 1 laptop to the router using an ethernet cable & run speedtest again

If the laptop cannot reach 100Mb/s while the laptop is connected to the router using cable - It's TM's fault and you need to give them a call
If the laptop can reach 100Mb/s while the laptop is connected to the router using cable - It's your fault, and TM is not responsible for this

for 30mbps, spending rm2xxx on this will be difficult to justify.
How on earth do you get RM2K for RT-AC86U?

that's the price tag i thought i saw in one shop.

maybe i was mistaken, more like rm1.8k?
The highest price I ever saw for the RT-AC86U is RM1.5K
Whereas the lowest is RM1.3K (Original ASUS Malaysia unit)

For RM1.8K = 2K, I believe you're looking at RT-AC5300
