Is TM coming for installation at your house?
Yeah. Although both of my router and BTU does have Gigabit ethernet ports, but they still insist on sending someone over
Not sure why
Already told them that, but they still insist on coming

I'm on FTTH, not VDSL

What's wrong with renewing contract if you're planning to use the next 2 years (e.g. own house, job stable di)?
Renew contract or not, I'd still won't use anything from TM
It's all junk anyway

I would rather pay RM600 ~ RM1000 for a good router rather than having to bang my head on the wall again and again because of intermittent wireless signal & crappy coverage

Stupid TM
They send their contractor over, but they did not finish my order to upgrade from 50Mb/s to 100Mb/s

I understand it's not the contractor's fault because they are 3rd party company, so I'm not going to blame them
The technician that came today is a very nice guy by offering that he will be able to come back later today if the order is finished by today

I'm so pissed off with TM's provisioning department, had to call them twice and by the 2nd time I told them I'm not gonna be the middle man anymore, I'm the customer, not a message carrier, I advise TM's provisioning department to call the contractor and explain on the issue directly

So I pressured TM's provisioning department that I will call the contractor within 1 hour to make sure that they call
I also advised the provisioning department that I've recorded the call & I will file a report to both MCMC & KPDNKK for their messy conduct of my upgrade if the provisioning department did not call the contractor within the hour

Guys, a special reminder, if you're using Android phones, please use the call recorder function whenever you talk with TM's helpline
This way when you file a report to SKMM/MCMC/KPDNKK, you have valid proof of all the stuff TM promised you over the phone

My case is very f**ked up

Contractor explanation:
Your order from 50 to 100Mb/s is not completed - Plain and simple, it's TM's fault

TM Provisioning Department explanation:
Her - Hello sir, my name is Hana, regarding your case, this has nothing do with the order at all, the order is completed
Me - Then what's the cause of this?
Her - The router does not support 100Mb/s. The port also does not support 100Mb/s
Me - I already explained earlier that the contractor brought a TP-Link AC1200 with him to test and he also tested my own ASUS RT-AC88U which both of them has no problem in supporting 100Mb/s
Me - And what port are you talking about? TM said it's the port on the router
Me - Are you talking about the port in my area does not support 100Mb/s?
Her - No sir, it's the port on the router
Me - Are you talking about the BTU? Because the BTU definitely supports 100Mb/s because it's using Gigabit ethernet port and it's on full FTTH
Her - No sir, as mentioned earlier, it's the port on the router
Me - Are you talking about the router in the hub outside of the house?
Her - No sir, it's the router in your home
Me - What router? I've already mentioned earlier several times that this has nothing do with the home router at all, both of them is capable of supporting 100Mb/s. How many times do you want me to repeat this?

Really ar..saw bad comment is more than good comment at lowyat forum.
Remember this. As bad as TM goes, they are still the best ISP in Malaysia
TIME Fibre is out of equation because of their limited coverage

And most people who has issue with UniFi is because of intermittent wireless dropout, weak wireless coverage and so forth, where the issue is not with UniFi itself
Hence the reason why I always advised people to get a better wireless router instead of relying on the stock router that TM provides

Some people thinks of spending RM1K for a wireless router as "too much"
But to me, it's about having something stable and reliable for the long run and having great after sales support by the manufacturer of the router itself, unlike TP-Link, D-Link or whatever brands out there where they have non-existent after sales support

So which model are you using now? Does it cost around RM1K?
Previously using RT-AC68U running stable for 4 years, now RT-AC88U
You can google their prices in lelong/lazada

Thanks for the tips. I will do the same too on tomorrow's morning. Please don't send installer to change equipment if it's not done backend.
Just a recap, which I forgot to mention in the past few days
After the technican came on Tuesday 28 November 10.30AM, my speed was still stuck at 50Mb/s
But after complaining to the tech support, my speed was finally upgraded at 11PM on Wednesday 29 November

Technician came again today to test my upgraded speed + signing a form

Nothing but a frustrating experience with this upgrade. My package in UniFi portal is still showing 50Mbps package.
Try to go back to a few previous posts of mine
It's not the technician's fault because they are not directly under TM, but a 3rd party contractor

The fault lies within TM provisioning department itself, that's why I wasn't angry with the technician, I even told the technician "Nevermind, it's not your fault, I know this is TM's provisioning department fault"
And when I spoke to TM's helpline, I told them, "No, no, no, do not put this blame on the technician, if your provisioning department were doing a proper job, my speed should've been upgraded by now, so I repeat "DO NOT" put this blame on the technician, he has done a fantastic job. Just go into your system and upgrade my line"
QUOTE(choonsern @ Dec 2 2017, 10:09 PM)
macam no point je dump rm10 every month for the so called crap upgrade
It's not crap
If you're a huge downloader & gamer like me, it makes a huge differences with a very small amount of increment

Yes the loading time has no differences whatsoever, but the downloading speed differs a lot, that's what matters to me
Downloading a 50GB game from Steam has been cut down by half the speed I'm getting when I was still on the 50Mb/s package
QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 2 2017, 11:29 PM)
How did you know if your speed is already upgraded? Any SMS or you kept testing speedtest? Or your UniFi account is already updated? unsure.gif
I was on the bed, getting ready to sleep when I did a final speedtest before I connect the lightning cable to my iPad to charge it, suddenly saw the speed has been increased to 100Mb/s
No SMS/email notification whatsoever

Your speed will be upgraded, just like me, had to wait without any sort of notifications whatsoever and suddenly poof! 100Mb/s thumbsup.gif
QUOTE(choonsern @ Dec 3 2017, 01:27 PM)
wanna ask what are the freebies/upgrade i will get from TM if my current RM179 of 50mbps is upgraded to RM189 of 100mbps?
LOL. You're getting double the speed, 600 minutes free calls & HyppTV Jumbo Pack for only RM10 increment
What else do you want? For them to fondle your balls? laugh.gif

Are there any downside to the modem router if change the port reserve for IPTV to be web enabled? Meaning for internet.
Just buy a gigabit switch. New unit is less than RM50 in Lazada

There are only 3 of us at home and we are not very heavy users. Reading through this thread I see a lot of people going for upgrading.

You thoughts?  biggrin.gif
I'm the only one in my house & I still need the 100Mb/s
It depends on your usage, like most of us in here, we dislike having to wait a long time to download a huge file/game/movie
New games nowadays requires up to 60GB of installation file to download

Downloading 60GB at 10Mb/s = 14 Hours±
Downloading 60GB at 100Mb/s = 1 Hour 30 Minutes±

14 Hours± = You'd have to wait that long before you can play the game & within that time frame, everyone will suffer half a day of low speed while accesing facebook, youtube and whatnot
1 Hour 30 Minutes± = Less than 2 hours you can play the game already and no one has to suffer a very long time to access facebook, youtube and whatnot
