Yah, I was surprised too, couldn't make head or tail of the bills. Yesterday received my 3rd bill after the RYE100 upgrade and finally it has stabilised to the expected RM189.

If someone want to have a go at explaining my bills. My installation date was Nov 27. Billing cycle is Nov 28.

28 Nov 2017: RM149 + 91.94 + 0.90 (phone call) - 60 (rebate cause they forgot the special 50)= RM181.84

28 Dec 2017: RM150.66

28 Jan 2018: RM189


So for the first 2 months after my upgrade I only paid a total RM332.5 instead of RM378.

The rye offer is rm189 monthly for 100mbps. That is with the discount of rm150 and rn50.
But i ve feeling that only the rm150 discount is perpetual and the rn50 is not.
I am anticipated that after 2 yrs contract the monthly will become rm239.

From a consumer standpoint, that would be the easiest and best. Unfortunately from a business standpoint, that is moot. It's like the Streamyx to Unifi era and even till today, still have people paying wayyy to much for 1Mbps or even less speeds. Why? cuz no choice and while some may be aware and pisssed enough to renegotiate their prices, many more just blur only. Take current 100Mbps fiasco. At most, 500 - 1000 subscribers saw this forums and or similar and made some noise to get their pricing or plans renegotiated. Probably there are tens of thousands more out there who either don't know they can get cheaper and faster and just keep paying, especially through auto-pay. After-all, since this whole thing started last year, almost every week...we have a few users who come in surprised that people are paying lower and getting faster speeds.

Last time in trying to get the streaming going I tried to use powerline plug, but found out that this solution do not work well with 3 phase power supply.

So I buy D-850 to replace the original supplied D-615, I found out that this router (D-850) covers the whole house sufficiently. Then when Unifi upgraded my connection recently to 100MBps they gave me TP-Link C1200 which gives better wi-fi coverage for the whole house.

For your information we have about 10 devices connected most of time, and uses streaming youtube, kodi, spotify etc. constantly. During family gathering the amount of devices may double that. (D850 no problem, however has yet to test with C1200 <- only start using this with new firmware,not usable before that)

do you experience low signal and speed problem ? so how do you solve your problem? would you mind sharing.

To be fair, they are now issuing better routers for Unifi subscribers, but not by much. What is your budget? Too many to recommend without knowing your budget. If you want reliable and bit more expensive, go for Asus. I personally would buy TP-Link myself but ignore buying the C1200 as there are many issues with that.

as said before, u could have when u went 50->100.
that's what i did, no extra charge.
now, if u wanna change, they may charge u 60-50=rm10 more.
jumbo has a lot more eng and sports channels.
but u will lose all the aneka, varnam, ruby ones from mega.
just to share with others...

i just got my second bill, all is correct.
we can now be all clear about how they bill... for those on +rm10->100mbps.

your case:
rm299 high speed internet +60 jumbo +30 ruby - 200 discount = 189... +gst.

my case:
rm299 high speed internet +60 jumbo -180 discount = 179... +gst

the final price is all determined by the DISCOUNT applied on the "high speed internet".
how they determine, amount... nobody seems to know for sure.

But then if 1st case users are allowed to cancel their Ruby pack after 1 year without penalty but retain d Jumbo pack becos of triple play, monthly fees will be reduced to rm159. 1 CS actually told me about this but yet to be proven workable, but I am keeping my Ruby so won't be able to try out.

I just called to check and was offered 209 for 100Mbps + Jumbo lite + Free Voice. Originally 219 but they said can offer 209. Currently paying 199 for 50 + Ruby + Voice. Call Center said if I go to TM point, terminate and reapply 50 Mbps + Jumbo lit @ 179 then can upgrade for 10 bucks to 100 Mbps = 189. all very confusing. still considering if 189 without calls or 209 with calls suits me better (rarely make 20 RM of calls actually...)

i think is hard for u to complain,they can claim RM149 is without Hypptv, and if u currently under RM189 for 100Mbps, u will notice your cost for INTERNET ONLY is RM99 after RM200 rebate.

2 weeks ago, saw an announcement at a condo for Unifi 100mbps (internet only) at Rm149. Looks like they are trying hard to compete with TIME
