Reduce wet handling performance & comfort? Mind explain more about it?
*
When upsizing tyres to larger rims, usually the tyres available would have to be wider & the diameter of the sidewall has to be reduced/ shorter.

Wider tyre profiles does increase grip, thus increasing dry handling performance.

Shorter sidewall are usually harder, which result in reduced comfort.

I can't remember what was the explanation about the reduced performance in wet handling. There was a video available online about this.

Tyres fitted with larger rims are heavier, and larger diameter rims require more torque to rotate the wheels when the vehicle is moving; thus increasing FC.

just ordered premium 1.6l today and awaiting bank approval. Just wanna ask regarding the sport rim ? is it suppose to be about the same like Iriz where it is dual tone sport rim or just one tone ? anyone can clarify this memo ?
*
It is similar to iriz, except it is one tone (silver colour) instead of dual tone like iriz

Bought my persona on Nov 17 and the SA gave me the car with the old HU (supposed to have the new HU). Complained to SA and Proton iCustomer Care and they agreed to change my old HU to the latest one (ON button on the left instead of right). Went to Proton CoSe yesterday and BOOM new HU. hehe

Congrats 😁

comfort -> persona
FC -> bezza
technology -> bezza
pickup -> persona
car design -> persona
*
I don't consider bezza more technology advanced compared to the new persona.

The idle city stop & brake regeneration system in the bezza is just a half baked gimmick, that is why you don't see those systems in the new myvi (correct me if I'm wrong). It is more of a nuisance than a convenience.

The reverse camera on the bezza is mediocre compared to the one in proton cars. It is monochrome & uses a single colour reference line. The only advantages of bezza compared to the other 2 cars are its FC & the leather seats are much better than the one in Persona.

Getting the bezza means that you have to keep it till the car dies on you. You will have a difficult time to get rid of the car (to sell it) due to the hideous looks. Nobody will buy a second hand bezza due to the abundance of them on the road. This car will get old very fast as perodua will have more exciting cars in the future (myvi sedan or Perodua SUV). Bezza is just a stop gap model & will soon be forgotten.

I myself own a persona standard. I have to say you got my sold about how the technology in bezza is mediocre compared to the one in persona.

However, I think that people will still buy a second hand bezza as it is a 'perodua' car. Those who have gotten a persona are the ones who have to keep the car till the car dies as the resale value will not be great based on the resale value for previous proton models. Just my opinion.
*
You maybe right on the simpler variants of bezza. But, not for the advanced variant.

To me, you can always sell proton cars to used car dealers as long as you can accept the resale value. All proton owners knew this all along when they bought their cars.

11years myvi still have rm21k?  Sure or not? Why give such wrong information? Everyone can search online.
*
I agree on this. A 2006 1.3 Ezi myvi would not go higher than rm19k in 2017. Now come 2018, the value would drop to rm16k.

Most probably the owner sold it direct to buyer & the car has a very low mileage.

"The only thing persona wins over the Bezza is the 6 airbags on the top variant. Other than that the Bezza wins in all aspects"  sweat.gif

Had to disagree with u bro.

Reliability, branding, i read Bezza thread, they also faced certain problems with their cars.
i test drive both cars. my first impression.

Acceleration? 1.3 vs 1.6 engine.
Top speed. again 1.3 vs 1.6 engine
stability
comfort

to say Bezza wins in all aspect is just LMAO

Again, this is just my 2 cents.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
So did I, I went & test both cars on the same day.

What I can say, bezza is meant to be used as city car. Not to be driven interstate.

The way it sways when a passing vehicle overtakes from the side; was just horrifying. 😌

sifus, there is rebate worth rm6300 and 5 years warranty (no free service anymore) for 2017 stock. should i go for it?  unsure.gif
*
It depends. Do you need the car urgently?

If I'm not mistaken, the 5 year free service is worth about rm4k.

Is there any CNY promo on 2018 stocks?

Thanks for the feedback. I cannot stand any rattling sound from dashboard. Haha! My last proton car (SGTi) is totally free from that I really enjoy that car. Anyway, what should I lookout for (especially the interior of the car) if I decide to test drive a unit?
*
Same here. Bought the car in Nov 2017. Have not experienced any rattling noise so far.

Look out for interior fittings. Some panels can be slightly off or misplaced.

For me, it was the cover for the A pillar on the driver's side.

Cannot unseen what have been seen. Gets on my nerves everytime I look at that area. Will ask SC to rectify that during next service.

Why my Both front wheel like this? Anyone facing same problem?
*
Did you left the car for a few days? This is just metal oxide developing on the surface of the brake disc. It will go away during driving when you brake.

This is common & also happens in other cars.

I drive my Persona everyday ooo, at least 100km per day...

When your car sits in a wet environment, you're going to get surface rust on the braking surface of the rotors/brake disc. That's what this looks like and it's perfectly normal - brake rotors are made of iron, so they rust. The rust will be worn away by the brake pads as soon as you start driving.

In the picture it looked like it had rained (the tyres are wet).

Saw before this a talk about the Persona tint. But not sure what thread @ page.

anyone can confirm all the Persona variant is equipped with tint?

Got this reply from Proton FB. but they didnt mention all variant or premium only.

Visible light transmitted (VLT):
Front : 80%
Rear : 40%
Side 1 : 58%
Side 2 : 40%
*
If I'm not mistaken, the factory tint is a security tint. Not the solar tint.

Anyone regret to buy persona?
May be used vios or Almera is better?
*
Nope. Are you kidding? Almera is much worse.

I was contemplating between Subaru Forester or this car for my wife. At the end my wife chose this car due to practicality reasons.

*
No. I'm not working for proton. I have friends who owns almera & also read the Almera owners' forums.

4 years ago I was planning to buy an Almera, but bought a Kia Cerato instead due to obvious reasons.

Almera's QC is not very good. FC is not exactly frugal either. It is simply a very simple car with a higher than average pricetag.

As for Vios, no complains there. However, the info I've got from Vios owners, the FC is similar to my Saga FLX.

I never owned a Vios since there is no reason to

I found this table online for Persona. Can someone verify it whether this is genuine? If yes then this can help to allocate budget for service in the future.  :thumbsup:

Looks legit. Have to change timing belt every 80k km
