i agree, these tyres arent great... i have wheel spin from stop to go during wet, it was a gentle acceleration. they are noisy too dry.gif . i have heard others that changed their tyre their cars becomes quieter.
*
Somewhat true. However in my experience of using Michelin PS3; As the threads wear out, the tyre noise will increase.

Nway, I've changed the tyres on the first day I got the car. Safety first, as my wife will be driving it daily.

Hi Ladies & Gents, has anybody bought a cover for the premium variant key fob?

Can you share where did you purchased it from?

I just noticed the key fob is not very durable. Can easily fall into pieces when dropped.

Anyone trade in the stock Silverstone or Goodyear tyres right after collecting the car? I am planning to change to Bridgestone RE003 or Michelin PS3.. any good shop with good trade in price can recommend? Hehe..

Also anyone added good looking aftermarket armrest? Pls share share hehe
*
Couldn't find a shop nearby my house that would accept the shitty silverstone tyres for trade in. However, got rm600 for trading the stock rims.

Aiyo.. then sayang wo just buy new n throw the shitty stock tyres away..
What to do. Really had a near miss accident using those silverstone tyres. Won't take any chances there. Changed the tyres on the first day I got the car. Since my initial budget was for a Subaru Forester for the wife (wife decided on the Persona on the night before purchase, so I got some funds to splurge a bit on the car (changed rims & tyres, installed window tint, custom floor mats, door visors, boot tray on the first day).

Nway, I've changed my tyres to Michelin PS3 for rm220 per piece (195/55R15) inclusive alignment & balancing (exclusive GST).

that's quite pricey. Bought CC6 (195/55/R15) from Tyre Expert in Lazada for only RM145 per piece.
*
Well, CC6 is not a UHP tyre. The price I've got for the PS3 was already a bargain

Boss,

Care to give some review on both your new tyres after usage? interested to know which tyres to change.

tqvm
*
Michelin Pilot Sport 3 is a UHP tyre, considered top of the line performance tyre for this size.

Superb dry & wet grip; & handling. Downside, increased FC, tyre noise tend to increase as threads wear out. This tyre wear out quite fast, if you are using the car daily, expect to change the tyres every 2 years (this is my experience with this tyre fitted on my other car of similar tyre size 195/50R15).

A more cost effective option would be Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 which you can get at roughly rm180 per piece.

Continental CC6 is a super comfort & quite tyre. However, with average dry & wet handling performance (at least better than the silverstone kruizers).

People keep saying persona cabin is quiet but i feel the opposite. I can hear the engine revving even on low speed. Is it only me or got other who experienced the same?
*
It depends on what car you're comparing it to.

It is definitely much quieter than my saga FLX.

But not as quiet as my Cerato, 508 SW or 523i (for obvious reasons).

Nway, engine revving at low speed is not normal unless you hard press the pedal from stop go.

Yes. Same here. Can hear quite obvious when motorcycle passing through.
Also fuel consumption quite high.
*
I agree on the high FC.

Manual calculation:
12 km/l for highway drive

9~10 km/l for city drive.

I'm not sure whether it was due to slightly wider tyres 195/55R15, even my Saga FLX 1.6 SE has better FC.

Engine sound from low Rev in persona is more apparent compare to similar Car range like bezza and myvi. It also happens to new saga. persona does have better sound insulation but not the noise from engine.
*
Why I haven't noticed this? Maybe it happens to certain batches, not all?

yea i guess so too.. mostly contributed by the cvt itself.. but also a lot better than my saga flx
*
Yeah. The CVT noise in the new persona is more of subtle whine compared to the roaring sound in the saga flx.

Correction. Drove wife's car last evening to double confirm.

The CVT whine is not a subtle whine. It is more like growling noise compared to the roaring noise in the CVT in saga flx 😂

anybody had modified the accelerator pedal to give it a more responsive feeling?

I still find it unacceptable, that you still get a 1~2 second delay for the car to move after pressing the pedal from stop or idle position.

there is too much travel for the accelerator pedal when pressing the pedal before the car will move.

That's not throttle delay but rather the clutch is engaging like your are driving a manual car
*
I've read about modding the throttle response for CVT transmission cars. I wonder if Zordaq can do this mod.

I've read in some old forums of doing this mod before. Will ask them if this is possible & feasible to do.

Maybe will try on my saga first, then the persona.

Does anyone feel the the persona default rim looks very hideous...? it does make the car has big body and small wheel. My tire is going to wear out in about 10k KM, im planning to change to maybe 16in rim with CC6 tire, any good shop recommendation around selangor, subang, puchong or usj area?
i have no idea on how to purchase a rim, i know look at the rim size and the looks, anything i should look out for ?
Recommend me some some subtle looking rim that is not "in your face". smile.gif
*
205/45R16 should be okay. But CC6 is not available with that size.

The delay is a fact that this persona had. Base on my 20 years driving experience. Even my wira paddle  response very good. I know the difference between drive by cable and wire. But, the delay should not happen .
*
Agreed. In fact, my saga flx does not have this noticeable delay as much as this persona. If I'm not mistaken, the tranny should be similar albeit the different tweaks.

This delay could spell disaster during split second movements especially from idle or stop go traffic.

Even the brake pedal travels a lot before it bites (eventhough previously air was bled out during service to reduce the amount of travel).

My friend who did the mechanical mod for the throttle response in his Suprima S recommended me to search for a guy named Azam Akmal in the Campro Group.

He's the expert in this.

My only concern if this will affect the warranty, to what extent?

Seriously??? My flx delays so much and jerks like crazy! Lol.. Feels like riding horse sometimes during Low speed
*
Mine was like that too, but after complained at proton SC before (it got worst after battery kong incident, changed to new battery), they reset the ECU & TCU for me. Then everything went A-ok after that 🤗😁

With this persona, I can really feel the difference. However, at least the NVH & driving dynamics is much better, even in stock form (I had autofoamed my saga flx).

Changing the car battery while engine staeted. To avoid the any reset on electronic stuff

Yeah. It happened when I was overseas. My wife did not know much about cars. She tried to change it herself.

Appreciated her effort, though 😂
