http://www.automachi.com/2017/11/geely-new-1-4-turbo-engine/

Aluminium block, timing chain and Euro 6 compliant. If this engine is modular then can remove the turbo and it'll be a suitable engine for the Persona. But dunno if it's oredi tested yet on the road, hopefully can be finished before or around Persona's 2nd year on the road.

Can beat Maivee in terms of FC or not?
*
Time will tell. Maybe Proton might introduce this engine in Persona & Iriz facelift in 2019

Hi everyone.

Anyone fit tyre with the following spec 195/55/R15 into Persona? Any problem? Pros and cons? Pls advise. Thanks.
*
I did.

Pros:
- looks nicer as the tyre side wall looks flush with the car's side profile
- slightly improvement in handling due to wider profile tyre.
- easier to find size for premium performance tyres

Cons:
- slightly increase of FC due to increased grip

Sad, since I got my persona, I can't even find a carpet for it. Most of car accessories should out of black colour, any other recommendations or what kind of carpet u all use? I don't want those which stick on original carpet 1...
*
I bought custom made floor mats that are placed on the original carpet.

It is grey in colour to match the silver exterior. Cost me about RM150 from 3M autofilm shah alam.

Your placed mean stick on original carpet? That 1 hard to cabut ooo, some more when u wash, need wash both together...

Rm150 is cheap if u get from 3M Autofilm shop, my side 3M Autofilm only selling Trapo which my colleagues say not recommended due to the stick pad easily drop off and cutting same as original carpet, too small...
*
It does not stick per se, however it sure does not slip easily. The guys at 3M were kind enough to cut them slightly larger than the floor mat size

The floor mats is of coil mat type. Quite thick. So far, I'm quite satisfied with it

I feel the Silverstone can't last 3 years... wear out pretty quickly... and heard this tire easily have cracklines after 2 years usage... better pay attention to it
*
Add bulging sidewall as a common problem, too

Ok thanks for info. Do you know if there's any difference in terms of performance after the first service?
*
I opted for fully synthetic EO.
I've complained that the brakes & accelerator were not very responsive.

SC reset/recalibrated the pedal & throttle response.

There was an air pocket inside the brake system, so they've bled the air out.

After that, the drive was very responsive & engaging. I'm a happy man. I'm sure my wife will be happy too.

I also need to ask SC to do that cz my car is less reponsive and sometimes feel underpowered. Fully synth must pay right not free?
*
Yes. I had to top up about RM81+ (inclusive GST). Initially the SC was offering the semi-synthetic EO FOC as part of the free service package.

The Semi-synthetic oil still rm 100 ? My SC quote me 118 for this, Additonal rm 18 not inclusive gst because they say petrol increase.
without add anything extra , i still need to pay 19.10 for the semi oil after voucher discount
While Fully-synthetic oil  at 248.
You topup 81 means your oil price below 180 . How come your SC charge you so cheap ..

However later only i realised they gave me Petronas 800 10w/40 instead of Petronas 800se 10w/30 as in proton recommend service and also as they claimed.
I believe this oil is old product. Any one familiar about this ?
*
You are right. The EO with SE naming is the new one, which is cheaper than the old EO

SE means "Serviced at Edar".

FYI, I serviced my car at Intan matang proservis, section 25 shah alam

Bro, very confuse le. So for the free service, which type of engine oil they use? For manual and auto both using same oil or?
*
Free service, you should get the semi-synthetic EO, Petronas Syntium 800 SE (10W-30). Should be same EO for both variants.

If you want fully synthetic EO, you have to top up to get petronas syntium 3000 se (5w30)

Which SC did you go?
Is Intan Matang a good SC? I still donno which SC to go since im staying in SA.

Btw guys, is there any strong reason why you guys chose fully synthetic oil? Performance increase? Sorry kinda noob about cars
*
In my opinion, they're the best in SA. Very professional. I only go to COSE for recalls.

If you are a heavy footer, better opt for fully synthetic EO.

My wife is a really aggressive driver, so need to prep the car to suit her driving style

Hey guys, I want to know what is the usual loan % range for Persona/Proton? Planning on a 10k DP for a Premium@7yrs.
*
With maybank, you might get around 3.2% interest rate.

However, I believe if you try other banks, you might get a lower rate

Actually which 1 better? From my previous Gen 2, i use 10w40, and also cheaper than 10w30. But 1st time i heard 10w30 cheaper than 10w40, different technology?

For Gen 2, i know if i use 10w30, the engine sound very rough compare with 10w40, but for new car, i think 10w30 should be ok right?
*
If I'm not mistaken, 10w30 is thinner than 10w40. 10w40 should perform better at high temperatures. However the 10w30 EO used is a new developed oil that has cooltech technology in the mix. It should be alright to use the new EO.

After all, it is recommended by the car manufacturer.

hi bro

if choosing between iriz or persona, minus small boot for iriz, what will you choose?😂😂
*
Iriz for me, heheh 😎

A 3 door Iriz with MT or CVT with paddle shifters would be super.

No need for Suprima S. That model needs to be decommissioned.

Yes, 10w30 is thinner than 10w40 and have better FC also. Just confuse some owner here top up from 30 to 40, make me don't know which to use...

I check online, Petronas 10w40 also come with cooltech technology right?
*
You are right. Just realised that too. 😌

I haven't tried anything, yet. I seldom wash my cars. I only send them for full fledged cleaning about twice a year 😂

For those who upgrade your EO to syn3000 7000.. always remember to ask for the bottle to bring home...

I suspect after paid extra they still use 800se. My sc here are quite big, we're not allowed to go into svc area.

For a far I saw they still use grey bottle for me, even Im paying for 3000. If any proton svc ppl lurk here.. hope they see this.

Edit : that was for first service, but second service so far ok.
*
I usually inspect the bottle first before letting them open & pour it in.
