Thanks for the info, guys! I'm not really bothered about the U-Bar though. Just want a standard whammy bar for stretching strings, and for the occasional I Feel Hero Whack a Dive Bomb moment (which won't happen anytime in the near future)

D-Activator Bridge eh..hehe sounds interesting. Yeah Faizal told me about the Highs as well. It's there's one thing I can't stand is a neck pup with piercing highs, encourages even more sloppiness!

I think Pure Black. Zebra pups are kinda hard to find here in M'sia, I think probably coz due to lack of demand. Well most people probably like Zebra a lot (I, for one) but I guess the retailers are afraid they won't be able to move their stock if they sell Zebra pups.

Nah, haven't started looking for it yet. I'm not concerned about the U-Bar actually. I just want the normal whammy bar.

I have a friend wanting to know whether is it okay to start learning guitar on a 7-string guitar because he is a Dream Theater/John Petrucci Freak.

Hi Petrotoxin! Has your friend ever played guitar before? Or is he gonna be playing guitar for the first time?

Normally I would say people wouldn't recommend starting on a 7 String but on the upper hand, he'd learn to get familiarized with the 7 String immediately, without having to adjust from normal 6 String playing.

I know this doesn't really answer your question, sorry bub!

u can get the Rg7321 for about 1.8k frm bentley, i've order one already that day for my cousin since he wanted a 7string will be arriving in june. i'll post my gig setup once i have the time aight.

Yeah, if the guy is willing to sell it. The guitar has been up for like dunno how many months... I asked him in March and he said it's not available. Think he was reserving it for a friend or something (who obviously FFK him since he's posted it up again!).

The 7321 is definitely a better bet if you don't require a floating bridge. Even if you do want a 7 with a floating bridge, try aiming for a 2nd hand 7620 or save up for the 1527... The LowTRS7 is supposed to be a POS compared to the LoPro Edge7 (RG7620) and the EdgePro7 (RG1527)...

Yeah, but seriously RM1.6k for a 7420 is a bit steep... and it's a 2000 model IIRC, so it's about 7 years old already.

RM1.8k for a 7321 from Bents really sounds like a better deal. And if the guy is an "aspiring" guitarist, better for him not to go through the hassle of changing strings on a floating bridge (7 strings to fine-tune can be a major pain!)...

Oh, and about the whammy-bar from Bents... I called them up on Sunday and they said, nope, they don't sell the whammy-bar or U-bar separately... lolz... guy probably didn't even know what I was talking about and took the safe route: "No, we don't sell that."
