QUOTE(Aria72 @ Aug 25 2017, 12:15 PM) I just received my final streamyx bill and the amont is RM-138.20 Not really. TM refund you the deposit RM75 that you paid long long time ago and pro-rated advance charge of your streamyx service that you already paid recently.i thought i have to pay tm one last time for using streamyx but instead they are paying me for cancelling the service. it's like they are giving me 1 month free unifi service for cancelling streamyx. |

QUOTE(twL @ Aug 28 2017, 02:30 PM) Is it need to do any register like previously to entitle for the free upgrade? Hopefully I will entitle for this free upgrade when Unifi at my address! If in this case, for those in 30M plan that not entitle for free upgrade will be very unfair for them? Some Unifi Lite users @ Kuching already receive free upgrade SMS today. My bro got his Unifi Lite last week and Installer told him he will get upgrade to 30 soon. Or it could be due to the funding (part of RM1b) from state government to TM / Federal Govt. But by 2019, as per Budget 2017, the speed will be doubled, so 30 will go to 50(/100?) etc. Fair to high-end users. TM's strategy is now encouraging Streamyx 4/8 to migrate to Unifi Lite (10/30). Sooner or later TM will provide cheaper Unifi service (relaunch unifi lite 5/10, maybe) to kill Streamyx 1/2. This post has been edited by ClarenceT: Aug 28 2017, 02:53 PM |

QUOTE(twL @ Aug 28 2017, 02:53 PM) So at the moment Kuching users got this msg? I tot the free double speed upgrade only valid for this year… You misunderstood. There are 2 rounds.First round in 2016-17, VIP5 to Unifi Lite 10 (RM149), VIP10 to Unifi Adv30 (RM199), VIP20 to Unif Adv50 (RM249). Second round - within 2 years from 1st round (maybe Unifi Lite 10 -> Unifi xx 30). [+ the tariff will be cut by half, which most of you don't believe] This post has been edited by ClarenceT: Aug 28 2017, 02:59 PM |

QUOTE(soonwai @ Aug 28 2017, 11:54 PM) About 3 weeks ago, TM came to change my neighbour's Streamyx to fibre. I think she was on 1 or 2mbps. So now she's running on fibre with a new BTU, DIR-850L router and HyppTV STB(!). Use TM's "Wifi Optimiser Tool" app, you will see it after scanning. When I do a speedtest, I'm getting 5/5mbps. What plan is she on? It could be something cheaper than Unifi Lite RM129. |

QUOTE(XXX---XXX @ Aug 28 2017, 05:51 PM) I heard that vdsl only for unifi lite. Let said if my area later got vdsl cabinet rather than FTTH, is it means I will unable to subscribe unifi 30mbps? SUBB project design spec is 20Mbps. It is VDSL2, better than VDSL.Dont think TM later will laid fibre cable again. So the cabinet (FTTC) shall be within 1km from customer's premises. Technically you may get higher speed (>50Mbps, max ~300Mbps) if your premise is just less than 500m away. So in the future, they can just build more cabinets nearer to the customer premises to improve the speed. Another DSL is currently being developed and tested, the G.Fast technology will deliver up to 1Gbps (a few years from now). so ADSL -> VDSL -> G.Fast This post has been edited by ClarenceT: Aug 29 2017, 07:09 AM |

QUOTE(MGM @ Aug 29 2017, 12:53 PM) Looks like the offer of free upgrade from Unifi lite 10mbps to 30 is for East Malaysia only,l. Good for u guys for once but hope we will get it too. Up to this moment, I haven't seen any Sabah users getting free upgrade sms. So I assume the priority is given to Sarawak users first as the pilot project for 2nd round of free upgrade nationwide. Otherwise it could be due to the voluntary funding (part of RM1b) from Abang Jo's Govt to TM / Najib's Govt. |

QUOTE(bfs621 @ Aug 29 2017, 03:03 PM) Why potong? I believe he will get a free upgrade as well. If still under contract, termination penalty is RM500.Also, I don't think TM will give HyppTV Box for free upgrade from 10 to 30. |

QUOTE(sharpshooter85 @ Aug 29 2017, 11:46 PM) Budget 2017. To recap, the authority has proposed; (i) fixed line broadband service providers to offer services at a higher speed for the same price, effective January 2017, (ii) the said package’s speed will be doubled with the reduction in prices by 50% within the next two years, (iii) MCMC to provide RM1b to ensure the coverage and quality of broadband nationwide reaches up to 20 Mbps. |

QUOTE(nders @ Aug 30 2017, 09:48 AM) Anyone have any confirmed news from TM if we subscribe lite now in Sarawak we get the free upgrade? Live chat still as useless ever say cannot confirm... Is there an urgency for a confirmation? It is not happening now but by October or delay to year-end or next year.Just wait and see lah, take it easy, treat it a bonus (as Govt's commitment is by 2019). We are just the white rats (for TM to start implementing another upgrade nationwide) and just hope the free upgrade will be successful and not troublesome. Then we share our experience here. |

QUOTE(nders @ Aug 30 2017, 10:25 AM) Well... I'm just afraid it will be like the Thank you surprise which I regret a lot that I missed. After certain period they no longer give free upgrade. I don't feel like missing this again if it is still eligible. If you are paying >RM110(+GST) for streamyx, no brainer, migrate to Unifi Lite now (free upgrade is not really the main factor). You enjoy better service immediately after migration and still paying more or less the same. Only those paying RM68-RM88(+GST) may hesitate! This post has been edited by ClarenceT: Aug 30 2017, 10:39 AM |

QUOTE(nders @ Aug 30 2017, 10:55 AM) Sigh. That's the problem. I'm all in for unifi. But my sister (who share the internet with me and have control of the account) are very concerned with little money like what installation fee.. So need slightly more bargaining chip here to convince. If same price and same speed (for me it's 149 8mbit bb with free calls now. Unifi lite is exactly the same) she will ajiazo. Look into the following factors:-Anyway I'll go TM point later to ask for more info. But experience tell me I'll be greeted with face of ignorance lol [1] Installation (FTTH): Around RM200 more or less for landed (standard size terrace/SemiD), one-time investment only, if FTTH, you can easily upgrade to 1Gbps in the future! You can opt for free installation but I don't encourage. [2] If you don't really use voice calls, go for RM129+GST (RM136.75) and voice call will be charged at 10 sen per 30 seconds. Your Streamyx (RM149 inclusive of GST?): Free calls to TM Fixed line numbers only, call to mobile or other fixed line numbers are not free! If you add on Unifi STD20 RM20 (So Total RM149+GST): Free 600 minutes calls to all networks including Maxis, Celcom, Digi, Time, then Calls to TM numbers are always free. [3] No HyppTV box for Unifi Lite! [4] Sooner or later TM will terminate Streamyx and remove copper network, you still have to migrate to FTTH. It is just a matter of time. [5] Free speed upgrade and Price cut will happen for FTTH, as the implementation and maintenance cost is cheaper. Streamyx/ADSL has reached its limitations. [6] Unifi Lite FTTH: Itemised billing and Caller Line Identification Presentation are free (a few RM for Streamyx). [7] TM will give you 3700 rewards points, you can convert it to a rebate (worth RM37). This post has been edited by ClarenceT: Aug 30 2017, 11:21 AM |

QUOTE(Keatsan @ Aug 30 2017, 03:57 PM) I was paying 149 for VIP 5. Went to downgrade my pricing to 129 for VIP 10 last week Friday. Only Kuching and Miri users reported receiving the free upgrade sms till now. I believe TM will upgrade other customers in phases.I'm not sure if I'll be getting the free upgrade to 30mpbs? |
