Well, it depends on when you subscribe, if you subscribe early of the year, you might as well try to accept this.

But if you just subscribe like last month then I don't think you can accept this if out of sudden the exact same package cheaper by 30 bucks each month and indirectly lesser GST also!
*
Their marketing strategy is not right. Create new product loh - Unifi Super-lite 5Mbps at RM99 (doubled to 10 Mbps 24 months later) to kill Streamyx 0.5-4Mbps (RM88-120). You will see a lot of existing Unifi Lite users willing to downgrade and no complaint!

Someone doesn’t get enough to mentioned that tm want to kill streamyx in 2020, double the speed, price reduction yada yada here. I’m really sickened by that statement. In fact, most of malaysians will still stuck with streamyx for much more longer than expected. 2020? Hahahahahha too early la bro. Even my expected 2019 SUBB also now where to be seen.
*
Sorry bro if I upset you. TM should launch alternative platforms (eg "Fixed Wireless" in Australia) to support you all. By 2020, LTE / LTE A+ networks will be more mature and more economical so Streamyx 1 Mbps will become a junk if it is still at RM110.

It's OK , you need to understand the GPON fundamental first.

Normally smallest OLT Rack

1 OLT Rack = can support 32 FDC

1 FDC = 8 FDP

1 FDP = 8 DP

1 FDC =  8 * 8 = 64 DP

32 FDC = 64* 32 = 2048 DP or subscribers.

Split ratio to downstream

2= 1.2Gbps
4= 600Mbps
8=300 Mbps
16 = 150 Mbps
32 = 75 Mbps
64 = 37Mbps
*
Haha but our friends here want cheap cheap price regardless of technology. TM should have invested in VDSL, EPON to meet demands. GPON's initial cost is too high.

TnC wrote can cancel, but still need pay RM129.
he claimed RM129 is packages price, RM99 and RM30 is just separate bills...

(if you go HyppTV website, that everywhere plan A only RM5, but charges us RM30 indeed)
*
Please check carefully before you give comments, otherwise you are misleading others.
- HyppTV everywhere RM5 is for those VIP users who already got their HyppTV STB.
- VIP5 was sold at RM149, never RM179.

Why you signed up for RM129(+GST) x 24 months. If you are not happy, then you have rights to cancel it anytime you want. If you feel cheated, complain to MCMC or appoint a lawyer to sue TM, instead of spreading hatred in social media.

FYI, lite is without STB but still charges same like others

check my previous posts, and I will for sure once that RM99 resume...
I have my own consumer rights, and I know what to do... (I'm out of this topics)
*
Ya I expect RM99 to be launched but with conditions at the beginning (at selected areas first then nationwide). But cheaper packages will be launched again and again a few months later. There is a reason.
Once capital investments (HSBB2/SUBB) for TM in Financial Year 2016-2018 (major) is successfully implemented, we should enjoy cheaper tariff by 2019. I believe you will get something cheaper than you are expecting now, or you are free to choose ISP after TM and Celcom restructure.

is unfair bundle policy .
bcos some location is rm88 for streamyx, some sabah sarawak , some rural area got rebate, some student got 4mbps etc ,
why different area , negeri , bornea different policy ?
*
IMO if you are OKU, students or from low-income group, you shall always receive discount.
Don't forget the Internet subscription is now a tax relief item, and with some other incentives, even we are paying RM136.75 to TM but we will take back some savings due to tax factor, rebates, incentives, which OKU, students and low-income people will not enjoy.

should give ALL incentive / rebate WITHOUT different policy and MORE to OKU, students or from low-income group.
*
But in real world, you cannot have everyone getting same income and same income tax rate, credit card reward/rebate programs, not everyone willing to go for auto-debit etc.

LOL, I wished for that too (asked since many years ago)

But the FACTS is my hometown is 450km away from KL, just a SMALL and RURAL fishing villages with 20k populations ONLY (ok, you can claim it as town too)
So beside UNIFI is the ONLY fiber that I've fighted back, mostly here ONLY can using Streamyx 4mbps (heard lacking ports)

While 3G and 4G, still acceptable in first 1-2 years before OVERSOLD and OVERCROWDED
(kept jumping between 2G/3G and hardly see 4G, got also 1 bar ONLY) Telco towers is just 1km away.

I did complained twice and got improved for another 2 months, kept disconnected later...

Can you offers me BETTER Apple and Oranges for choosing? Even my opposite Thailand fiber 30Mbps only 300Bahts... (if i can import Super Long-Range Wifi technology)
*
Our new YBs (after PRU14) should learn from other developed nations, eg UK, Australia.
Let TM expand the Unifi service in HSBB2/SUBB areas first (coverage is the most basic factor) especially in 2017-18 (HSBB2/SUBB project).
From the statistics, Unifi users shall exceed Streamyx users in 2017-18, so Unifi cost will become cheaper.
Once coverage job is completed (hopefully 2018-19), then open up for competition. TM spilt into NBN (infra) (or merged with Celcom's edotco) and ISP and we are free to choose ISPs, but not NBN (but the line rental is regulated by the Government).

The REASONS we fed up is BECAUSE why TM only offers to NEW SUBSCRIBERS only, that's NOT FAIR treats!!
We're NOT ASKED for claim back previous PAID MONTHLY FEES, but BE FAIR to existing clients too!!

(If they TM can't, then DON'T TIE us contract with 24-months. 6-months still reasonable)
*
Haha TM should learn from SingTel (different pricing for different tenure).
eg RM129 x 12months, RM99 x 24 months or RM89 X 36 months. Let users choose.

I'm GOT no problems with these...
but charges RM30 for stupid apps while also charges the SAME to Advance and PRO with STB is NOT FAIR, right?

Just now went my auntie house installed that stupid APP in appstore (and CANNOT using, LOL)
wanna charges us RM30 but still.... and KEPT showing TM logo and ads!!! (we've PAID for these JUNKS ads, seriously?)
*
TM made a mistake to itemize V, I, P! But this structure may be due to tax reason as Internet is now tax-relief from this year.
In the past VIP5 (Voice+Internet+HyppTV) RM149 single price [free upgrade to 10Mbps]
Unifi Lite 10Mbps: Internet RM99 + HyppTV RM30 + Voice RM20.

If they didn't make this "mistake", if they are selling Unifi Lite (including free calls) at RM149 flat rate, a lot of Streamyx 2/4/8 Mbps users would still migrate to Unifi Lite RM149 this year!

So the answer is 144 FDP at maximum configuration.This 144 FDP can provide 1,152 unifi subscribers.

*
1 "subscriber" = 1 BTU?
And 1 BTU can have 2 internet lines, 2 telephone numbers?

Most keep old land line because over the years (decades) given number out to so many people that we need to keep the line just for maintaining the number so that we can be contacted.

Lfmao, everythings called Unifi.... (it's all different technologies with differences package prices.)
later Webe going rebranding to Unifi also...

Then when we call 100 or walk-in TMpoint for inquiries or complaints, kept tell the staffs UNIFI.... in the end, staffs get confused and we also confused too....
(maybe their systems still not integrated yet, busy keep looking for either streamyx, unifi or webe... and maybe celcom soon)

bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif hahaha, just saying...
*
TM can spin off Unifi as a separate entity as ISP (Unifi Berhad) in the future (reverse TMNet Sdn Bhd merged into Telekom)
Webe is now called Unifi since 16/9/17. All becomes Unifi because of Fixed-Mobile convergence.

After upgrade, your package is Unifi Lite? ie your billing is RM99+RM30+RM20 (for STD20).
If yes then you can unsubscribe STD20.

Already proposed in Budget 2017 - Phase 1 @ 2017 and Phase 2 @ within 2 years from Phase 1 (after PRU14 / Budget 2019).
No need to repeat in Budget 2018.
Should appear again in BN Manifesto for PRU14 then voters will feel-good.
P/S BN Manifesto for PRU13: Price down 20% for broadband.
