I have the same problem in R6V. Played halfway says cannot read the disc. Next time is ok. Disc is clean, perhaps too hot?

Mine is Gears of War ( Asian ),

But when i try to load the games and then this msg appeared =>

"to play this disc put it in an xbox 360 console''

Only Gears of War, Others just work fine....i think Gears of War Disc gotta glitch and some 360`s wont load it....

which also happen on the dead or alive etreme 2...

the disc doens't like asia machine.. they boot in jap console.. but asia is like 50/50

dang..didnt know its like that. i'm still new in this 360 business. this kind of thing is handy to know. if ever get prob like this can exchange with u djinn?

yeah of course. does who can't boot thier dear or alive extreme 2 can exchange to either a new one to try again ( or change to other games)

and of course I Can send back to supplier. but er.. scratches disc cannot send back

I'm disappointed in MS as I have face this problem with my 2 games, Gow and Lost Planet. It pop up a message in the middle of the game and said disc cant be read. My GoW disc have minor circular scratches in the middle of the disc while Lost Planet disc is perfectly clean.

I don't understand why this machine is so fragile... disc scratches, 3RoD, disc read error, etc etc... my PS2 last me five years and still running strong now eventhough it has NEVER play original games on it. My Xbox 360 games are all original.

hm.. 3 problems at the same console ? have you settle the 3rods already?

3Rod... never appear anymore *touch wood*... I believe the 3Rod is caused by the power supply as I shared it with my monitor and PC speakers. I switch it to use individual socket already... *sigh...* don't know what to do with this box...

just use your xbox 360 as normal lo~. currently happens for Gears and Lost Planet?

It is not often lah... oblivion so far has never experience this but the machine fails to read the title screen data so the title screen is always corrupted... don't know what happen... but inside the game everything is okay.

disc error msges occurs once in a blue moon on my console.. the only thing i can think of is.. dust.. cos its been 8 months in my room..so i guess the dust accumulates in the machine.. prolly a dvd cleaner would help... the one with the brush underneath.. i'll prolly get one later & see how it goes..

my 360 died on me yesterday after only 3 months of occasional playtime. i cant load any games. it keeps on asking insert disk.. insert disk.. insert disk..
this console sucks BIG TIME!!

umodded. I 've got unable to read disk when i play GOW. And a few days after that I got 'insert disk...' problem on GOW and yesterday, none of my games are playable...
i know i have warranty but thinking abt buying a > RM1K product with 3 months lifespan is simply sucks...

4 months old and still standing. the only thing is , PS3 title sucks pulak!

If your XBOX 360 console comes with a Samsung drive, the chances of having disc read error is high, including games like NFS Carbon, GOW, COD3, Burnout Revenge, etc. However, if you own a Hitachi-LG drive, it's a lot better, less problems, only ocassional pauses with some dual layered dvd movies. That's what I found out, my first XBOX 360 console came with a Samsung drive and after the 3ROD thingy, they changed another one with Hitachi-LG and I'm happy using it till now.
