how heavy your camera? i have no issue using this coil..quiet tahan..no problems at all..bought at scubatexpro MIDE last3 years ago.. nod.gif
*
tg tracker, planing change to tg5 or nikon keymission

saw lots on lazada for about rm35, while rainbow runner sell around 70+
i see pic is the same, quality not sure

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Apr 27 2018, 01:54 PM)
Generally it's quite tahan. Unless your camera super heavy even when it's in the water.

But I still paranoid cause I lost camera before (found it later on the surface though). So I tend to hold onto my camera or let the strap go around my fingers or wrist if I want to free up my hands.
*
dont think is super heavy when is in water.
u are lucky that still can get it back on the surface after lost in underwater?

QUOTE(XtraSpicy @ Apr 27 2018, 02:24 PM)
I also thinking about this question, last time I used to use gopro4, so no problem. Recently bought a Olympus TG5, currently without any dive light, but I feel unsafe clipping it like that..

When doing giant entry, I dont know how to secure the camera.. Maybe should change and use left hand holding regulator and mask, right hand holding camera?

hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
how much u get for tg5 with underwater casing? good deal?
actually if is jump in, one hand hold regulator and mask, one hand can hold camera
if backdrop, is abit hard, unless your left hand not going to hold the back of your head

TG5 is tiny and light. I'm sure no issues.

I know people with DSLR and 2 strobes also just clip it like that underwater. Some have another clip to secure it cause it's huge and will move around if not secured properly.

When entering water, get someone on the boat to pass it to you. I usually hug it towards my chest with one hand and other hand still secure mask and reg.
Ya, somehow very lucky. It was those old Canon housing that was colorful and hence easier to spot when on surface.

They come with hoses, but you can replace them with something else if you like.

I recommend DIN over yoke, it's more compact, reliable, and lighter.. But you need to ask the dive center ahead of time if they have compatible tanks.

Why do you want the hoses to be turnable? They're useful in some specific advanced setups but aren't an advantage for standard recreational setups. PS i don't think that reg can be turned.
*
thinking of change it to rollable hoses than original rubber hose

i thought most of the dive center gas tank is feature for the use of yoke?, so far only dive at malaysia island and i see those tank are for yoke only

with turnable, the octopus wont be pull so much by the hose when turn the head to the left or to the right cause u need to bite hard to prevent it being pull out from mouth
on previously dive there were few time using this turnable regulator, feel much more comfort when head turn to left or turn to right without the need to bite hard

Yea you can change the hoses to braided hose which are softer but requires replacement like every 2 months.
Most island uses Yoke tanks but have Din tanks that has a tank converter to Yoke. They just need to unscrew it.
I think I know what you mean. The turning of the 1st stage low pressure connectors. If you get the braided hose maybe you dont need it. I had both and currently using non turnable one. Not much difference but if you prefer turnable one why not.
*
yes i mean that, the turning on 1st stage rclxms.gif
wow, those softer hoses need to change for every 2month? no matter use or no use? does it expensive?
i mean this type of hose

if request for din tank, normally will it be any extra cost for that? confused.gif

Sorry. 2 years not months.
No extra cost but depends on availability. U need buy an adapter just in case. But best inform earlier so they can prepare beforehand.
*
i see, 2 years still ok...
your regulator is din or yoke? does the adapter need to be same brand as regulator for better fit or any brand will do
as im looking on scubapro regulator...but their adapter is much more expensive sweat.gif

Hmm it might be something else that was causing that pull. If you limit yourself to regulators with that feature, there's not many choices left. Apeks UST/DST, Scubapro Mk25, and clones of them.
*
not limit to that feature, just if it come with is better..
will the price at the mide will be discount lots than buy from shop?
any brand that i should avoid?
full set regulator with the price not more than 3k , which brand should i look for biggrin.gif

I use to have a Din reg. My adapter was 160. Brand is not important. Now I am using a Yoke reg. Din too troublesome for me.
Go MIDE look should be able to get regs below 3k but dont go for those like Edge or HOG or any unknown brands. Servicing n quality of build is important.
*
most likely cant make it to mide... bye.gif

How is it like to change BCD on top of water while you are not good at swimming?

Personally I think that's the hardest part for people who don't know how to swim or stay on top of water.
*
i get my ow when i dont know how to swim
is no trouble to wear on bcd on surface as u got the fin, and is easy too
aow now, still not very good float on surface without any gear...

QUOTE(ericcc @ May 4 2018, 03:11 PM)
any feedback on TG Tracker? i saw some deal from Trinity Scuba. Pros and cons please. thanks
*
good thing is no casing needed, bad is only up to 30m
quality personally feel not bad

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ May 4 2018, 08:42 PM)
I have been using Scubapro one with the turning on 1st stage as you are looking for. I have also used rental regulators and other random friends regulators who don't mind me using their regs. And honestly, I don't find any differences. My hoses are pretty short too.

From what I understand, the softer hose doesn't last as long as rubber hose.
I like Ripcurl ones. Basically the only important criteria is that you look good in it.

Unless you are looking for something more than a rash guard, like sharkskin kinda top where it's windproof and blah blah blah. Rashguard doesn't really do anything other than prevent you from being sting by whatever under the sea (doesn't protect you from triggerfishes either) and making you look good.
Yup. I draw, write, attach polaroid photos to it too.
*
i see...i only try once with the turning 1st stage, just that moment feeling no pulling effect, never had the chance to try again...
thats why need survey around before get the regulator as is going to use for quite a long period, and dont regret on wrong model

rubber hose can last for how many years?

im tend to like donut style bcd than traditional bcd, although nvr use any of donut bcd yet, just dont like the jacket style bcd as feel that the side pocket is quite annoying

Different BCD provide different enjoyment. For instant like Zeagle Scout is a Wing BCD.
Wing BCD can achieve perfect buoyancy "easily" with some practice of coz.

Whereby Pocket BCD/Traditional BCD, you unable to stand straight in the water. Your angle somehow slightly tilt. Tho not much difference, but it gave u more pocket to store stuff and accessories.

Donut BCD aim to travel light mostly. Less pocket, less dangling easier to keep.

So is really depend on your preference. All BCD also serve the same purpose. Just your preference and budget only. Brand wise... go some dive shop and learn more bout it then... as for me... all the same la. U buy BCD A or BCD B or BCD C still a BCD.

As long as its function well as a BCD, its already a good BCD. All additional are just side features and marketing gimmicks nia... But of coz if u have more budget, then go for a better one.

As for me, if i teach or dive lead, I preferred pocket BCD, easier to teach and a lot of slate/accessories to carry.
If i go enjoy dive, cincai la, Mares Rover (cheapest in d market) or Zeagle Scout also can... Light and easy!
*
just want light and easy for travel...i dont have accessories to store, torch pointer will just clip on D ring, so dont need have lots pocket

Yea. Instructor need to rent tank for you and teach you things so yea.
Remember to look for travel BCD than. My Oxycheq uses stainless steel backplate. Very heavy to travel with.
*
but with the stainless steel plate, u dont have to carry anymore weight dy isnt it
saw diver den currently selling dive rite travelpac bcd t4000 for rm1950, stated there retail price is RM3164.60
is it really a big cut down price or actually is around 2k pricing?

this bcd suit for only with carry weight no more than 5kg, which currently im using 3kg with 3mm suit, if in future i gain more weight then gg biggrin.gif

I think 2k is an okay price. I cant remember who is the distributor for Dive Rite in Malaysia. Maybe can get similar or cheaper price.

There should be different lift category wings (the doughnut) for this bcd model. Can ask and see.
*
ok , thanks, will ask around about the lift category

You can thank me later.
