I actually lost my iPhone 6s last week and luckily I decided to wait for the new phone announcements in the hopes of getting a replacement for a cheaper price.

So now with the price drop to RM2749/3249 i'm thinking of getting a normal sized 7..

Couple of questions for the sifus here - I thought they were increasing storage for the base model to 64gb was there any announcement on that? For anyone using 32gb, how much is there actually available for photos, apps etc - is it enough, have you ever regretted buying the lower memory?

TBH the 6S has also dropped its price to RM2249/2749 and I was happy with my old phone until I lost it. Was it ever worth the upgrade to the 7 in your opinion?

I'm not hunting for the 8 as I need a new phone now (4 year old nokia is not going to cut it) and I don't feel like I need to upgrade every time they release a new phone...

so which one to get guys?

if Car u still can said drive 10years no change car, so no worry about resale value.
if phone 1years plus already u feel wanna change new technology, so the resale value very important to consider.
my mate 9 pro bought 3.6k during new launch almost same like iphone 7 plus, but u look at value today, everyone sell below 2k.
compare to iphone 7 plus which still can stand above 2.5k

becoz, there's alot of android OS phone out there. if you don't like ABC, there'll always be XYZ, Z1,Z2 for you to choose.

for Apple, there's only an Apple. hence the 2nd hand pricing is more or less at that level.

If you still had your 6s then an upgrade to the 7 wouldn't have been worth it. I lost my 6s as well couple months back so I needed to get a new phone and the best option was 7+ cause I'm not really the type to chase the latest tech (unless really tempted). In your case, since you haven't get a new phone yet, you should probably wait for the iPhone 8/8+ or X, it'll last you a good while.

If you're not in a urgent situation for a new phone, wait for the price announcement for the ip X...if it's not a world appart, it's worth considering. Even topping up RM450 for the 8 is worth it than to save RM450 for the ip7 (if it's only a RM450 price difference).

Haha, yeah. I kinda got sold by their health ad on the Apple Watch. Now, thinking to buy...

Is it? Too bad but as attw said Apple will release the fixes quick enough. I like that I'm getting updates regular enough even for my old iPad mini 2.

It's a lot for someone who doesnt prioritise handphone purchases!

Thanks for the views.. I thought about what i actually used my old iphone 6s for... fb, work email, whatsapp, line, web browsing, office apps, GPS, some light music listening and thats about it.. i dont think the bionic chip is going to improve my user experience substantially. Cant wait 1 month for release to pay more for the same thing while i use my rm600 4 year old Nokia-its too painful lol!

Im probably going for the 32gb 7... but will be pissed off if they change their base unit to 64gb in the mean time

Ya, I was sold on Apple Watch as well but so sad to see that Series 2 has been discontinued with immediate effect and Series 3 is still not available here yet, and no news on when it will be available. Was hoping Series 2 will get a price cut sad.gif

Yup, iOS bugs usually get fixes from Apple in a timely manner. But i think the demo wasn't a bug, more like poor preparation, hahaha...

iP6S isn't that much of a difference with iP7 just that the removal of the headphone port and better chip.

However, from my point of view, since they used an electronic button for the home button on the iP7, it should last longer since its one of the few buttons you'll be frequently using.

I upgraded from my 2013 iP5S, so it was a worthy upgrade. For you? Maybe not so.

Yea. Judging how that the first live demo of Face ID failed, they will definitely fix the issue asap.

Having just watched the keynote, I don't think the Face ID failed, but more like the demo phone was either restarted or left idle for too long. We have to reauthenticate our Touch ID with our passcode when that happens too.
