Btw just want a very honest opinion.
What's your take on LED bulbs especially for the recent designs for H4 that has a cut off shield that mimics halogen bulbs on reflector based housings?
You'd think that 6000k-6500k light temp. for sure will catch JPJs eyes isn't it?
But since nowadays most cars even the Myvi had OEM white led lights.
Also not all cars are specced the same. How would JPJ know the difference?

What's your customer testimonials on this matter?

agak agak how much is the damage?

Prepare around RM 700-800.
RM230 (front) + RM450 (rear)

I surveyed already. biggrin.gif

Anyhow, we Sarawakians had a long weekend (Good Friday hols), so I got myself a Soft99 Kiwami Hybrid wax & detailed the whole car's exterior. My previous Soft99 metalica is pretty good but this is much wetter looking but the white version is a lot more creamy. If you want 80% of this wet-look but with longer usage, can get the silver Kiwami version.

How many washing can it hold? At the moment I'm using turtlewax hardshell. Last me one wash only. After wash, the wax effect gone. For car shampoo, I'm using pg wash and wax (got promo that time)

Lazy to wax. Looking for wax that can last long...
*
The last time I've waxed the whole car was during early February using Metalica (older ver.) and the water beading effect + shine (albeit, diminished) is still apparent till last week. The one thing if you really know it's lasting is when you run the car over your fingers. It should feel like ceramic.

Kiwami does provide 3 colors (white, silver, black) and is a hybrid wax so you'd just have to coat it lightly and wipe after 15 minutes. It doesn't harden like conventional carnauba waxes.

*
The preparation is crucial. Any tar/bug/tree saps must be removed first then can apply wax. I only used my hand, It was tiring but worth it. Took around 1hr. I am quite OCD so that's why it took an hour probably. laugh.gif

Hi all sifu,

My car is GX spec.
Can we install car recorder for rear without avoid warranty.
If can, can may i know how much and where can help us to install
*
RM180 for a Xiaomi one I got from 11street with 32GB microSD.
Hook up to USB only and lay out the cables nicely out of plain sight with some cable holders. I DIY-ed.

QUOTE(netmask8 @ Apr 19 2018, 09:23 PM)
Post the photos here if got any..

Nowadays I saw many Vios on the road installed awesome body skirting aerokit with black color shark fin antenna and black color rear spoiler..
Will be nicer if got DUAL tone GX sport rims too with super white led small lights front and number plate bulbs.
*
I did almost everything except for the rear spoiler colour and side-mirrors + my own choice of rims. laugh.gif

QUOTE(ck2chan @ Apr 20 2018, 03:13 AM)
Shark fin get from Toyota? If do outside will void warranty?
*
Nope. I've done my 2nd service. No issues. Maybe will affect claims on faulty antenna only. Keep the original one inside the car.

QUOTE(netmask8 @ Apr 21 2018, 12:55 PM)
After much consideration and saw some knock accidents/ arguments in youTube today I decided and went to accessories shop to install;-

1. Locktech 2x keys connected/ stop press brake pedal. - 280
My existing T Rex steering lock as 2nd lock alternative.

2. Shark fin antenna (cover only )- 45. Yes, radio signal impacted a bit due to no long type antenna, but still acceptable.

3. Rear WiFi full HD 1080, G sensor with 8GB recycle every 5 - 10mins DVR - 250
Configure settings using mobile phone WiFi, apps download from Google play or Apple store.. Quite good clear review playback.

4. Tint / cover another layer at Front top main windshield glass.. 100% black tint / cover to block Sun ultra violet and sunlight glaring. - 30 .. on top of front DVR dashcam
Total damage = 600 with labour cost and GST.

Next project - plan to add extra 1x Sony sensor at rear when car  reversing.
*
2 sensors is very inadequate that's for sure. City has 4. lol

Got my 3-colour 50W/bulb LEDs (H4).
It is night and day compared to my Philips Whitevision 3800K.

Cut-off is similar to the original due to the shielding (only applicable for H4 type).
6000K+3000K 3-chip diodes combined together to create a 4500K light temperature for heavy rain usage.
Comparison side by side with the new Myvi shows a 80% similarity in light output albeit Myvi's being a little purplish (suspect its 6500K).
It's exactly the same colour with CRV's LED headlight colour.

One drawback is a less wider high-beam.

good habit. shift to neutral and pull handbrake if stop for long. ignore those people keep saying it is pointless. this way, much safer and reduce stress on many parts. safer because sometimes you didn't press the brake hard enough, the car will keep moving forward. next thing you know, you bang the car in front of you.

vios did not equip with smart system that will disengaged clutch upon pressing foot brake. even the torque converter plays major role in minimizing wear and tear by allowing slip, it still generates stress to the engine if not by much. and if this is not a solid reason to do so, do consider the safety.

don't have to put to "park" unless you really parked your car as this is really pointless. please make use of the "neutral" gear and handbrake. the "neutral" gear is there for a reason

i hate those drivers that still engaged in "drive" keep inching forward. make other people life miserable by creating gap.
*
I've done this since the day I've driven autos. Less chances of mishaps too.
But I'd only do this when it's a long wait. It's quite far-fetched to me when they say engaging gears often will wear the gears faster. Besides, I'd get a more constant idling RPM which will affect my FC as well.

QUOTE(niaosuan @ Apr 24 2018, 08:11 PM)
VIOS E spec doesn't come with fuel consumption estimation range on their dashboard instruments panel, any PROs can recommend on how do we really measure fuel consumption since most users do not risk to empty the tank in order to get those estimation.
*
Pump RM50 once you're getting the low fuel indicator and reset your trip, Be sure to record the price/L and drive until you've reached the indicator again. Record the trip and calculate;

RM/L: RM2.32/L
L: 21.46L @RM50
Range: 290KM

Calculation:

1.) 290KM/21.46L= 13.5KM/L
2.) 100KM/13.5L = 7.40L/100KM

Also, you can use fuelly.com and record every refuel you make for an insightful analysis.

Where did you bought the 3 color temperature LEDs? Looks very nice ler!!! haha.. so fast ditch the Philips WV bulb already? tongue.gif

Not that it's bad. laugh.gif
I was itchy seeing my friend's LED from his Myvi. Got it from Aliexpress. Search "Z5 LED" and there you have it. Really satisfied with it. Makes me feel ok not having foglights.

Some FB sellers pay around 40% more than what I've paid. laugh.gif
All those LEDs from acc. shops are still old and inferior COB type ones without cutoff light.

Hey guys.

I'm planning to swap a ZerOne lowering spring soon.
I should do a rotation too isn't it?

Just reached 10k interval. Forgot to ask my SC to rotate the other day.

Went for my 5k service and complain the car was underpowered. Eco keep kick in to lower down my rpm when i still accelerating.
So they have reflash my ecu. Try a week and now much better responses when press on the pedal. ECO won't force to kick in when i accelerating. FC abit high but still acceptable.

Back from terengganu. 1full tank 410km. Driving speed around 140-160km/h. The car feel floating when speed 160km/h above compare my old persona this feeling is around 180km/h.
*
QUOTE(linkinpark @ Aug 16 2018, 12:47 AM)
That much air pressure F230 R220 this will feel bumpy. Mine F220 R210. From Gambang to Karak most of time 160-180km/h. Compare the feel is more like floating than bumpy. Angin lintang and passing a big lorry is the worst. 180km/h speed is very uncomfortable compare old persona which everything is original only add 1 3point front strut bar.  The worst is from karak to genting sempah cornering above 140km/h will hear the tyre hoaring and squeeking.
*
Which is why I am lowering my car, and adding UR strut-bar. But I felt a wee more balanced with my 7jj rims. Will swap with 195/55/15R tyres once they're ready for replacement.

These 185/60 series CC5's are too soft. Even abrupt corner during standstill will kick in the ESC. Too much give in the sidewalls. Then again, it's a silent and comfort tyre.

From my point of view, front strut bar wont have much effect.. Try going for ARB instead.. Stock rims i think its only 5jj.. for more stability i would go for 15x7jj..
*
Lower arm bar for sure will be noticable.
I am using a 15" 7jj rim now. Much more stable.

Yup.. I would also definitely change my rims in the future.. Not sure if Toyota will void the warranty for changing rims..
*
Today I went ahead and rotate the wheels and installed Zer0ne springs which lowers it by 30mm+-. I have to say, it rolls considerably.less and bumps aren't that noticeble, albeit you'd still felt that the dampening is less soft now (which is fine).

I took the chance because I really dislike the body roll and floatiness on the default set-up even after getting wider rims (7jj) with the same.default CC5 rubbers.

Apart from springs, they also made adjustibles and brake assemblies for local and Japanese cars. It's a brain-child of KakiMotor Sdn. bhd.

If I had more budget, Tein or Eibach would be my choice.

*
I see. But it does seem like the Eibach is made more towards comfort.
RM450 after Merdeka promotion. MSRP at 600.

Chose it after numerous survey from Performax, 4Flex, FTuned, GAB, Proride which has similar price-range.

FYI, the original springs are made by APM.

Just curios as I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, does Vios side mirror fold automatically when lock/unlock car? Or you have to install third party equipment?

Manual folding via switch.

RM450 seems like a good deal, just worried it will shortened the lifespan of the shock absorber. Did you manage to get the price for Ftuned?
*
Tbh, NCP150's shocks are prone to faults by default. The spring is just too soft and there's a lot of play involved, especially for the rear shocks.

There is one year warranty on these.
Around 400-500 depending on location. I didn't get it because nobody is a reseller here. It is my 2nd choice tbh.

QUOTE(jojocn92 @ Aug 20 2018, 05:52 PM)
I see, hmm... but i was also looking at the plug & play anti theft thingy. Not sure if it's effective thou. Can only plug either one right.
*
If not mistaken, there is only one OBD slot so you can't plug in more than one device. If you decided to have a temp. meter or some sort, then the auto flip will have to forgo.

Well I would say with all these upgrades that I've put into my car, the stability has improved by a margin, but still does not meet my expectations.

Because I had a Preve CFE 😅
*
Can't beat Preve, Suprima, or even Persona that's for sure. The multi-link rear suspension is one of the reasons why these Proton models are known for good handling even without mods.

Also, the front struts bar comes as a standard for almost all of their cars. Talk about $ savings!

Looks like your mods are similar to mine just that I kept my thicc CC5s.
It's comfy but not the best in wet nor traction. Squeaky at best. What's the price for UC6 and CC6?

Hopefully a full load at the back will not bottom out like the original spring did.
Btw, the rear bar is the solid or hollow one? That upgrade will be one of my next ones.

It squats lower without being too much. Just right.

that was not brake doing. it was engine braking via cvt. i sometimes feel annoyed because i don't have total control of the car.

QUOTE(jojocn92 @ Aug 30 2018, 05:33 PM)
really? hmm ya, is a little not helpful, as the pick up after is really slow when i step on accelerator coz the car slow down further.
*
That's the disadvantage of CVT gearbox with economic fuel mileage in mind. They try to match the engine rev speed to your gearbox in order to "downshift".

QUOTE(JJTam @ Sep 1 2018, 01:15 AM)
Yes indeed, preve CFE comes with a front strut bar and rear stabilizer bar as standard, hence no mod was needed and the handling was already sweet as. I kinda miss the handling but it's just not worth it with the number of quality issues that the car had, as I wanted a car with peace of mind.

I've gotten cc6 for 148 @ Jooi Seng. Uc6 is 160.

Not sure if the bar is hollow or solid though 😅
*
Mmhmmm. Hopefully Proton learnt their lessons with the latest acquisition.

Yours is the 2 point right? Cos it's cheaper than the full 16mm solid anti-roll bar RM450 and RM220 (2 points bar) EM pricing.

Eh. Not much difference in pricing between both tyres eh. My BIL got his old Vios a 205/15/R16. Quite thicc. Compound feels soft.

Quick question. Do you wash your own car? If yes, why? If not, why?

I use Sensha Fine Crystal sealant as a maintenance spray after quick washes. Soft99 Kiwami hybrid wax is my to-go 1/4 maintenance for gloss, protection and water beading. Turtlewax polishing compound for water stains half yearly.

What's yours?
