not because of the engine. it is because of cvt. sometimes it doesn't choose the right gear ratio. either you floor the pedal to the max or switch to manual. prepare to hear the car roar...

i see... i thought there is issue with the car as i used to own a honda idsi 2007. The feeling is much different.

thank you for the info.

cvt and auto totally different thing. some may like it, some might hate it. i personally like and hate. i like it because it is smooth without any jerking. i hate it because it is not responsive. cvt tends to keep low rpm with the matching gear ratio. unlike auto, manual and dct, they all have fixed gear ratio.

yes, warranty affect antenna area only. do take note, actual shark fin antenna has different set or wiring and not just one cable. reason being is that shark fin antenna is not an ideal receiver and need a booster. you may have to sacrifice signal quality for cosmetic. though you might not feel the different if you are in a strong signal area.
*
After much consideration and saw some knock accidents/ arguments in youTube today I decided and went to accessories shop to install;-

1. Locktech 2x keys connected/ stop press brake pedal. - 280
My existing T Rex steering lock as 2nd lock alternative.

2. Shark fin antenna (cover only )- 45. Yes, radio signal impacted a bit due to no long type antenna, but still acceptable.

3. Rear WiFi full HD 1080, G sensor with 8GB recycle every 5 - 10mins DVR - 250
Configure settings using mobile phone WiFi, apps download from Google play or Apple store.. Quite good clear review playback.

4. Tint / cover another layer at Front top main windshield glass.. 100% black tint / cover to block Sun ultra violet and sunlight glaring. - 30 .. on top of front DVR dashcam

Total damage = 600 with labour cost and GST.

Next project - plan to add extra 1x Sony sensor at rear when car reversing.

I just know that the so called "free" Head Unit AVX (Blue background) provide by UMW for Vios 2016 above (for E,G,GX,TRD) until they change to recent HU is not from Pioneer. It is from Fujitsu! No wonder the quality is so bad! Hmmmm cry.gif

Fujitsu is a good brand. They are one of the pioneers in making optical drive. However the unit supplied to Toyota and others has to follow certain safety regulations and has to comply to certain requirements.

I myself begins to ignore this unit. Go and get myself an ipad/tablet and mount it to the dashboard. Link the audio to the car unit via Bluetooth. Got myself a perfect multimedia eantertainment in my car. Raise the bass a bit and you feel like watching in cinema.

Can watch netflix/iflix and even mkv/mp4 movies without having to waste time converting.

No need to waste money replacing other unit and no need to consider about car warranty.

i use the ipad for the entertainment only. the rest of the car's function like reverse/front/360 camera still there. hardly use though. i don't trust the cameras. person like me has the habit of opening the door and physically look while reversing.

i don't mind going in and out the parking box few times as long as i'm perfectly in the box. unlike some uncivil people who care less about their car in the box or not. what matters, as long they can park their car in one go, they so damn proud. those people who in/out many times just got the license according to them. haish...

Hi all sifu,

My car is GX spec.
Can we install car recorder for rear without avoid warranty.
If can, can may i know how much and where can help us to install
*
RM180 for a Xiaomi one I got from 11street with 32GB microSD.
Hook up to USB only and lay out the cables nicely out of plain sight with some cable holders. I DIY-ed.

Post the photos here if got any..

Nowadays I saw many Vios on the road installed awesome body skirting aerokit with black color shark fin antenna and black color rear spoiler..
Will be nicer if got DUAL tone GX sport rims too with super white led small lights front and number plate bulbs.
*
I did almost everything except for the rear spoiler colour and side-mirrors + my own choice of rims. laugh.gif

Shark fin get from Toyota? If do outside will void warranty?
*
Nope. I've done my 2nd service. No issues. Maybe will affect claims on faulty antenna only. Keep the original one inside the car.

2 sensors is very inadequate that's for sure. City has 4. lol

Got my 3-colour 50W/bulb LEDs (H4).
It is night and day compared to my Philips Whitevision 3800K.

Cut-off is similar to the original due to the shielding (only applicable for H4 type).
6000K+3000K 3-chip diodes combined together to create a 4500K light temperature for heavy rain usage.
Comparison side by side with the new Myvi shows a 80% similarity in light output albeit Myvi's being a little purplish (suspect its 6500K).
It's exactly the same colour with CRV's LED headlight colour.

One drawback is a less wider high-beam.

good habit. shift to neutral and pull handbrake if stop for long. ignore those people keep saying it is pointless. this way, much safer and reduce stress on many parts. safer because sometimes you didn't press the brake hard enough, the car will keep moving forward. next thing you know, you bang the car in front of you.

vios did not equip with smart system that will disengaged clutch upon pressing foot brake. even the torque converter plays major role in minimizing wear and tear by allowing slip, it still generates stress to the engine if not by much. and if this is not a solid reason to do so, do consider the safety.

don't have to put to "park" unless you really parked your car as this is really pointless. please make use of the "neutral" gear and handbrake. the "neutral" gear is there for a reason

i hate those drivers that still engaged in "drive" keep inching forward. make other people life miserable by creating gap.

Is this true fact?

VIOS E spec doesn't come with fuel consumption estimation range on their dashboard instruments panel, any PROs can recommend on how do we really measure fuel consumption since most users do not risk to empty the tank in order to get those estimation.

I've done this since the day I've driven autos. Less chances of mishaps too.
But I'd only do this when it's a long wait. It's quite far-fetched to me when they say engaging gears often will wear the gears faster. Besides, I'd get a more constant idling RPM which will affect my FC as well.

Pump RM50 once you're getting the low fuel indicator and reset your trip, Be sure to record the price/L and drive until you've reached the indicator again. Record the trip and calculate;

RM/L: RM2.32/L
L: 21.46L @RM50
Range: 290KM

Calculation:

1.) 290KM/21.46L= 13.5KM/L
2.) 100KM/13.5L = 7.40L/100KM

Also, you can use fuelly.com and record every refuel you make for an insightful analysis.
