2. Toyo OEM tires less noise than last time Goodyear Asymmetric
Many people say this tire no good and was thinking of changing. But I find it perfectly adequate in both dry and wet. May be I seldom drive above 100kph in the wet.

Picking up acceleration, obviously slower,, car heavier and lazy to moved, I don't want to floor it yet
And I cant really feels the turbo,, cant feels much compare to G5

Vibration during idling, I can feels more or less same with G5,, but not new G5, aging G5,,
*
Never got the chance to try the AWD but my guess is, it might be slower to move. And I don't drive fast in wet. Hence went for the E instead.

As for the turbo, hardly can feel it. In fact, it felt like a NA.

Toyo tyre is really lousy la
grip not so good especially if you try genting on the wet, will get a lot of wheel spin
tyre also very hard and bumpy, need to reduce air to get more comfortable ride
also quite noisy when travelling on highway.
*
May I ask, what tires would be better for the CRV? May want to try it out when time comes for replacement.

They guys are always willing to do it...spend more money, get performance and comfort satisfaction. Totally worth it.
The missus...don't care how good is trade in price to get better tyres, as long as you going to spend more money, you are losing money, no go.
*
Just curious. How much is the normal trade in value of your Toyo?

NVH for RS is fairly good, main source of noise comes from the tyres which I blame the Toyos. new car so no vibration, and no creaky plastic sound.
Driving this generation G6 RS always reminds me of previous BMW gen F series. The torque level is comparable to a 320.
*
many moons ago, I was interested and test drove a G3 CRV. I couldn't believe how bad was the NVH and thought there is something wrong with the car.

Aiya back then the Japanese stick to their own style. Nowadays, Honda will want to mimic the BMW, or draw inspiration. If you see ever see the City with BMW bodykit, cant tell the difference.
They need to compete in US/Eu market.
But G3 even G2 is indestructible car, still see many on the road. I am hoping to keep the G6 for my retirement.
Relative still have the G2, fuel guzzler now.
*
some people says G6 has some European flavor, whatever that means.

Read few page back, got issues on some chips and production slow down for all, then on March all back to normal,,
I can see many G6 on the road now,, but agree that RS is very rare..
*
On highway I normally drive between 100 - 120 kph and at that speed, the turbo should be better than the RS.

In town, of course the RS is better.

If you worried about warranty since Honda nowadays can just reject any claim with minor modification, just change to same exact tyre size and dimension but with better brands and model. Only will run the risk of voiding certain warranty mostly if change rims and sizes. While many still do alignment at SC for convenience sake,  I doubt anyone actually change their tyres in SC (water fish maybe...haha).

However with new resonance device on the rims, as suggested by others better check with SC. This is new stuff here (at least in Malaysia).
*
I think Honda's Toyo similar price to Michelin. So I will try Michelin next time.

Is crv rs glass acoustic/double glazed glass?
*
I have only very briefly driven a RS for about 1 km on the same stretch or road. Compared to the 1.5T, the road noise sounded sort of similar to me.

And when I tried to accelerate hard, RS will deliberately produce fake engine noise. So overall feeling is, again, they both sounded quite similar.

Only complain is this V Specs pick up is bad probably because this car is heavy
and AWD did make some minor different during cornering at Grik road up to Titiwangsa
*
Would you say, the G6 V AWD pick up is like a G5 2WD on Eco mode? Or worst?

And what speed and road condition were you driving when you say the AWD cornering is better?

Im getting around 13km/L on average
Fuel up to full at Tg Malim and can go to 650km, I believe this car can go to 750km if easy drive 80% on highway
I could only get bellow 13km/L on the G6 2WD. You probably driving below 100kph on average?

Yeah,, I believe my average is below 100km/h
in G5 we can look see look see our average speed in speedometer,, but could not find it at G6 how to check
*
One reason I didn't want a AWD is because of the potential slower pick up. Not driving aggressively so not sure how significant is the better cornering ability.

I agree on all your points on hybrid drivetrain. Malaysians are allergic to hybrid so maybe that’s why they don’t sell well here but so many foreign reviews like US and AU they all recommend getting the hybrid version because it’s so much more refined and is a class above the petrol variants. I think it’s nice that HM is throwing all the specs at us too aside from a proper blind spot monitoring system but I can accept that. smile.gif
*
Malaysian petrol is cheap.

And if you read carefully what some reviewers are saying, they are saying Turbo drive better than Hybrid on higher speed highway. I have briefly tried Hybrid and I agree. Since I do drive long distance, I am not comfortable with lack of spire tire.

In town and fuel consumption, of course the Hybrid is better

Having the G6 turbo for a few months already, things I nit pick are:
1. At red light idling, there is more vibration compared to other cars
2. The seats cushion are too thin for long distance.
3. I prefer to set front tires from 35 psi to 34 psi

Thats why i think honda put 2.0 engine with the hybrid,, to accomodate highway speed fuel consumption
If you ask me,, RS pulling factor for me to purchase is not really the hybrid battery, for my personal POV is 2.0 NA engine that comes with the hybrid system

I choose and booked hybrid initially, but same reason with you that this car is only for my long hway drive,, then i go to v specs
*
I was torn between the better pick up speed of the E spec vs the "supposedly" better cornering stability of the V spec. Never got the chance to try the V spec myself. I would only assume the power of the V spec would be like an E spec with ECO mode on.

Power is the same,
For cornering what do you expect from an SUV,, even with AWD, like my few post above,, not much significant,,
And how many time we do cornering with SUV, this feature is just nice to have

Check YS Khong YT driving VSpec at Balik Pulau,, you need to drive like him only to feel it
*
From Honda's brochure. 0-100kph.
Hybrid is 9.0 sec
E is 9.8 sec
V is 10.4 sec

Anyone knows if CRV comes with wiper cap? I went for 1000 km inspection, and they told me that the wiper cap is missing. I don't even notice if there is wiper cap comes with the car or not all these while

You buy RS eHev for the specs and hybrid drivetrain (the smoothness of the ride is substantially different from petrol version), not for FC savings (that one only added feature).
At traffic red light. The petrol version engine vibration is above-average bad.

Other than that, I don't miss the Hybrid.

As I said, you have to drive side by side, IMMEDIATELY after one another then can feel the noticeably driving experience difference.

But then again, some ppl don't bother, feel the same no matter....hahaha.. individual preference.

Not to say turbo not good, very good liao, If not I would not even budget for E-Spec before the long term financial hit my ego...and real life thingy conquered my sense...

It is just different driving experience. Really not the same when drive immediately one after another Of course, once hit highway, tak payah cakap, how can compare to turbo.
*
I am familiar with the turbo and went for a test drive of the hybrid. I wouldn't say there is a night and day difference worthy the extra money and potentially high cost of battery and no spare tires for out of town driving etc

Car reviewers don't have to consider those -ve factors
