Just left my car at SC to do the high-pressure fuel pump recall inspection... and was told there's a RM43 labor charge for the test/inspection, wtf? I asked the SA he said this is their (HM) SOP and they're just following. What the heck? A recall exercise that the customer has to pay for? Anyone kena the same or did I get BS'ed?
*
ya normally recall exercises is fully borne by manufacturer. i've never heard anything otherwise

the only time they charge is scope outside of the recall exercise.
for example, from my experience, i had an engine valve spring recall, they of course will replace the items affected, and all associated items like oil seals as they open up the engine.

however exhaust gasket, not in scope, i pay myself.
coolant hose not in scope, i pay myself
spark plugs that inspected looks a bit worn, i pay myself
VVT socket broken off cuz long term soaked in leaking oil, i pay myself for an entire VVT module (this is priciest lol, lucky only 1 piece, out of 4.)

is there any inspection required for the product recall? i thought all impacted car will straight get a replacement regardless of the condition
the inspection, is that ur request or procedure by HM?
*
QUOTE(cfa28 @ Aug 18 2025, 11:09 AM)
thought all recall is at no cost to the customer

you can pay first and ask for itemised billing and then post on HM FB page for clarification.

Yeah, this is part of the recall exercise, not that I specially requested or whatever lol. The SA said they inspect and run some tests, if the fuel pump is affected only they'll replace. rclxub.gif

I'll bring this up again with the SA later before paying. Still waiting to collect the car this afternoon after 3pm.

This is at the Penang Sungai Pinang Kah Motor branch.

affected as if like the fuel pump replacement is based on manufacturing batch or model?
if have to wait until got defect then only can replace, might as well just call this campaign a warranty claim. no need product recall la kan.

Need to change the windscreen, any recommendations? Honda SC or outside?

Better change in SC, just done mine in July, leave the car there overnight.

But my suggestion is better to go back to where you bought the car. I tried check with semenyih and kajang, they can't provide eco tint because my insurance only cover for 3k claim, not enough if inclusive with the tint, so Semenyih will use solar guard, and kajang don't know yet as the officer seen like a bit inexperience, plus they need a lot of documents as they don't have my insurance details. One even sent me the link to berjaya sompo ask me to register first, which really make me blur, maybe he sent Salah, but first time I see customer was asked to submit claim to insurance company by themselves, lol

Ended up in order to save time, I just go back to the PJ SC, just pass them key and let them photocopy my ic, collect car on next day. They gao dim everything for me, the tint seen ok, one year warranty.

Not based on batch or model. There's a test they have to run to see if it's affected, not sure what the nature of the test is, but probably some kind of stress test.

The SC doesn't even have ready replacement unit in stock. If the unit is affected, they have to place order with HM HQ, and then I have to bring the car in AGAIN to leave overnight for them to replace. Honestly, such a huge turnoff and a terrible experience. Luckily I went in today for my 12-month servicing and do this together, so it's not like I wasted a trip or anything.

Thank you. I will go back to the same SC then. Mine tinted with 3M. I prefer to go with 3M even with some top up...

So suay... Hit by big stone at elite highway... 100KM/h only... Not fast...

Btw, any issue or misalignment for the windscreen mirror?

Blame Honda Malaysia. I claimed my brake switch in July too, it is just a very small component, cost very little but I was told nowadays SC no more power to change anything for customer even they are very sure that the item is faulty and need to be changed before they submit report to HM and got their approval.

mine is like changing the windscreen almost annually via insurance, cz bad luck or if need outstation to Lumut from KL, the routes with plenty of lorries sure hit by rocks on windscreen. So change at SC are not just expensive and slow (some need overnight), I usually send mine at the windscreen shop near off jalan klang lama. Need just 3 hours from start to finished the windscreen replacement.

Nowadays, there is even a Windscreen shop that just brings it to your home for installation at your own house. I have not tested yet.

better check with them on how much to top up. For old Gen 5, the screen itself already cost RM,2.414.

My car all good after change the screen, they keep my car very clean. And write down note for me lagi, teach me how to fix back the dash camera after 4 days, and one week can not wash car, and don't touch the screen for few days

G6 not sure, windscreen for G5 already 2414. U see how much is the windscreen first, then top up value to cover for your tint, unless u willing to downgrade or top up when insurance claim is not enough to cover

Update after talking to my sales Honda guy, he said the RM43 on the service order won’t show up on final invoice; they have to include the labor charge on the order to claim from Honda Malaysia. Hopefully that’s the case when I go pick up my car later. If they end up charging to me I’ll for sure post on FB.

Yeah this definitely works, I just tried.

Lemme edit a bit a bit + screenshots.

Hidden feature for Android auto wireless

1. Press Home , power , and back track ( << button, for previous song or music, NOT the back button aka previous menu button) buttons simultaneously for about 5 to 7 seconds.
2. The screen will go into self diagnostics mode , select detailed information and settings.
3. Select smartphone information .
4. Select Android auto tab.
5. Select ON (USB/wireless)
6. Done. Select Return.
7. Un pair your current Bluetooth and android auto from both phone and head unit (delete all) and re-pair again. (Because the phone and/or head unit remembers the connection as wired, and won't initiate wireless)
8. Enjoy your Android Auto wireless.😄

checked my warranty claim invoices. there was an amount stated on the Labor Price and Part Price. As long the Net Total in invoice stated "0.00" then should be fine.
