QUOTE(oh-so-wow @ Aug 5 2017, 08:30 PM)
Test drove today the tcp version. As this is my first time driving suv, it is very easy to drive and park, in fact better than my c segment sedan.

But just curious, it does not feel spacious from driver POV. Maybe comparable to jazz and slightly roomier than HRV. CRV is a c segment or d?
*
CRV is a compact crossover. It is not those full size SUV like land cruiser, range rover sport, CX9 and so on.
Exterior wise, I believe it is slightly bigger than any C seg sedan, passenger at the back got huge head and leg room, in fact, it is best in class already. For driver POV, kind of agreed, but I'm not a big fella myself, so not an issue, I think it is quite spacious.

Did you successfully triggered the front detection even once?
Because the front sensors can be switch off and mine come switched off by default, also the lane departure warning.
Please refer to the photo, two of both features need to be turned on.
*
Yup, some detection occurred.. Please refer to my previous post again.

Yes, both were switched on before testing.

No offense but does such SUV you have in mind exists? At the same price point? Coz you said it's a make or break but it could also mean you might not be driving an SUV after all.

No offense, but why do you have to be so defensive? I get that you just bought the ride and love it with all your heart and all that. But if you can't trouble yourself to actually read my posts objectively, then commenting will be pointless. I walked in to an SC, was offered to test drive within the compound, solely to checkout the front sensors. I refused to do a proper test drive, so as not to waste the SA's time as I wasn't ready to purchase cuz waiting on competition and test back to back. That's the point of a test drive, to notice as many things possible and consider if we can live with them or not. I don't know about you, but if I can completely avoid or significantly reduce some personal pet peeves, the lower the buyer's remorse.

I'll say it again.. Objectively read my posts. During my testing, the vehicle had a blind spot of sorts. Go on YouTube, etc, there are tons of videos showing kids being run over cuz high riding, can't see below or just plain not paying attention. I can imagine such front sensors stopping me or the missus from accidentally running over a kid and having to deal with the nightmare. Wouldn't you? Should you renact the test and not find any blind spots, then great... Means the fault was limited to that particular vehicle and future buyers can check for this before accepting their vehicles, as a matter of precaution. I'm not looking for a unicorn-like CSUV, just one that performs the best to my requirements.

I am not being defensive. I didn't care if people like the CRV or not even though I have bought one. If everyone buys what I bought, there won't be so many choices. I am just coming from the old-age saying that there's no perfect 10 in everything so some give-and-take is expected in any acquisition. As mentioned, I am not intending to offense, nor am I defensive of my purchase. To each his own.

Radar wave type has sensor won't be able to pick up small object signal. Looks like u need those aftermarket electromagnetic type sensors. Just Google up "electromagnetic parking sensor"

Of course there's no perfect 10 for all.. There can be a perfect 10 for some. I'm seeking a close to perfect 10 for me. Same as most car buyers, if I wasn't, I'd simply walk in, purchase and deal with the issues later. I'd rather not, hence pre-purchase research. So yeah, to each his own. No worries, I appreciate your real world reviews.. cool2.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Have no such problems with the reverse sensors on my older civic... It's even able to detect those slim and cylindrical metal bars that are found in some parking lots. Thanks for the suggestion. smile.gif
