Possible due to Crv much heavier as G10 same engine n specs but pick up damn good
*
This is why I say, I am not sure the 1.5T AWD is faulty or not. Never have the chance to drive other unit. May be those who have driven both can comment on the pickup power.

Hi All,
Currently Honda provides big discount on E spec and RS spec.

In dilemma which one shall get,
E Spec
Pros : Got spare tyre
Cons : no TPMS, no 360 camera, higher fuel consumption

RS Spec
Pros : Full spec, lower fuel consumption
Cons : no spare tyre
*
I got the E and my reasoning could be different from yours.

For high speed high way driving, 1.5T is better than the RS. Once over ~100kph, it is the lesser power 2.0 engine doing the work in RS. I would think important for high speed 130 - 150 kph overtaking and many roads here aren't dual carriage

I occasionally left the car unused for many weeks and car may not start and may have to be tow to workshop. Could be the 12V or the hybrid battery. I don't want such headache.

I feel uncomfortable without spare tires. Town may be OK but not long distance.

Fuel economy. With RM 20K saving, not an issue

The only previous gen 1.5T AWD I tried has unacceptable slower pick up. I only like the V spec 360 camera but what to do? Beside, it has a higher center of gravity so may be less stable? I wouldn't know.

The good things of RS will be for town driving smoothness, power, fuel economy and idling, RS wins.

I dont think its faulty, its the characteristic, with 2WD the engine power all force to Front, while AWD with same engine power need to power all wheel, and remember that V Specs is heavier

Weight S vs E vs V
1611kg VS 1616kg VS 1668kg

0-100
9.7 VS 9.8 VS 10.4
*
I did expect AWD to be slower but did not expect it to be SO MUCH slower to be unacceptable. Hence my doubt of that particular unit being faulty.

But I do seem to remember, once on the move, power seems OK.

It seems those who have driven both the 2WD and AWD do feel the AWD is noticeably slower at pick up. I doubt the extra weight could be sufficient to be the cause of that. So what could be the reason?

why you need spare tyre? your insurance policy don't have breakdown service?
*
Practical reasons.

At some location I go to, that will be a couple of hours waiting. And if need to buy a new tires, most likely no same brand as the other 3. I usually want to buy all 5 tires of same brand.

my old ride of 7 years. not even once use the spare tyre. The tire was also obsolete liao.waste  of money. mine was the conti Sportcontact 5.
*
I generally rotates all my tires including the spare tire. So when it comes to replacement, I replace all 5.

CRV is using real time AWD. it will distribute the power to rear tyre only when needed to.
*
At normal starting off from rest, I doubt AWD would be needed/working. So what could be the reason why some reporting AWD noticeable slower than 2WD?

Brought my RS in for the steering rack recall today… fingers crossed everything goes well and they don’t make it worse. Mine is just slightly sticky feel at the middle when cruising low speed, no kiak2 weird sound when turning yet. Hoping they fix the issue but not introducing new ones…
*
They just put some grease. It has been a month and still OK

Manual list the 1.5T having 57 liters. Previously I seem to notice light pops up with about 100km range left. But the latest shows 50km left and still no popping up.

so this can be set ?
my bad. i thought is 60L tank. coz now my car left 80 km range and the indicator on liao.but when you fill up, only 47 L before the nozzle gun halted.
*
So in theory, you still got 10 L of petrol left and should give you approx 100 km instead of 80 km by the meter. So if the worst come to the worst, you still have 20km in reserve that is not showing. I reckon that is good.

For City, I got avg 27-28km/l on meter but real world calculation by mileage vs liters filled, avg out over multiple refills, about 25-26km/l only. So I would take the meter reading as estimate but can differs by up to 1++km/l sometimes.
*
Yours work out to be ~ 7.4% off. Mine ~5% off. Quite similar ball park figures.

BTW, when battery depleted/charging and idling, you feel any engine vibrations?

There is still slight engine vibration but no more than usual engine vibration of petrol version.
Are you saying at idling, when the CRV's 2.0 petrol engine on, it vibrate same as the ICE 1.5T?

Thanks. It does work.

With AA on cable, I can no longer listen to Youtube music on Bluetooth.

There is 1 problem. Once activated, it will automatically switched on the phone's Bluetooth every time you step into the car. And there is no way to de-activate the Bluetooth. And you can't listen to Bluetooth music. It becomes all about Android Auto.

You can check in your phone android auto setting to not start android auto automatically when connected.
Unfortunately there are only 3 settings.

1. Always
1. Default (set by the vehicle)
2. If used by last drive

Unfortunately there is no way to switch it totally off from here.

When connected AA to player, it will usually ask if you want to run android auto now. You can set as no and AA will not fully run. You can use bluetooth.
If player did not ask and go AA straight away, you can always switch off your wifi and it will run just bluetooth.

I usually used only bluetooth for spotify music or youtube music. If it keep forcing AA, I will just switch off phone WIFI.
*
At present, once into vehicle, it will auto ON the phone's Bluetooth.

Is there a way to auto-off phone's Bluetooth when you exit the vehicle?

You can disable bluetooth scanning at player if needed.

For convenient sake, I usually switch off bluetooth manually in phone until I need to use it. If it auto-connect, I go to bluetooth and disconnect the device. I did not find other way around it yet.

As for auto-off phone bluetooth, I always do it manually. I think no way to do that coz vehicle is not a fixed location. If fixed location like house, then I used routine setting (available in Samsung Galaxy phones) that uses location to disable bluetooth or disconnect devices after leaving certain location.
*
Phone's auto Bluetooth ON is ok.

Just that I some time find it inconvenient of NOT able to switch off phone Bluetooth. I tried switch off manually but it get auto switched on automatically again immediately.

anyway what u mean by BT music? so far, i can play my BT music, from my song folder in the phone with connected AA and BT is on.

When AA is on via cable or wireless, pressing the Bluetooth button gave a warning that is not possible.

I solved my issue with my Samsung phone's "Routine" features.

Whenever CRV engine off (hence CRV Bluetooth Off), the Routine will auto off the phone's Bluetooth.

The car is heavy and FWD so the pickup isn't great, but if you've driven something like a regular petrol turbo, like the 1.5T engine, the instant torque is so nice as you don't need to wait for RPM to rise and turbo to spool before you get that kick in the butt sensation.
*
At high speed, the 1.5T is more powerful.
