QUOTE(Cavino @ Aug 28 2024, 04:45 AM) eHev long term maintenance is not going to be cheap...you have to maintain at least 8 years in Honda SC with expensive parts and repairs coz of the warranty. After that, who can handle the eHev engine and motors, in the end, still have to go back to SC. So it will be expensive no matter how fuel saving it can be. The no spare tyres is always a worry for Malaysia roads with potholes and nails. For me, if one tyre damaged, have to change both tyres anyway if the tyres already wear out sometimes, if not really no balance even for non-AWD car unless the damaged tyre are quite new. Turbo got power lar at all ranges, just smoothness and efficient acceleration RS got advantage at low to mid torque. Ya, forgot. Lack of spare tires in the RS is another big consideration for me. If all tires run their natural life, sure we change them all. But what if a pretty decent tires got damaged by curb etc? You still have to change at least 2, if not 4, even if there are still plenty of thread life left.

QUOTE(KingArthurVI @ Aug 28 2024, 05:27 AM) I got the RS, and tbh not worried about continuing servicing at SC after 5 years… my Civic FC I went outside after 5 years servicing and it wasn’t that much cheaper than SC so I went back to SC in the end lol. IMO the hybrid powertrain refinement and smoothness is the signature of G6, it’s so refined no joke because it’s so quiet and comfortable without the NVH most of the time of the petrol engine. If anyone has the budget I would wholeheartedly recommend the hybrid variant to them. My intention is to get the 1.5T and later the Proton EV as 2nd smaller car for town use.

QUOTE(fazleysyam @ Sep 6 2024, 02:54 AM) Lanewatch vs BSM, i vote for BSM la. But BSM vs manual head turn, i vote for pusing kepala. That small indicator at the side mirror could mean anything. I still prefer my eye to decide. Maybe im oldskool BSM, it is the sensor "seeing" the object. Lanewatch. Your eyes see the object. Old habit die hard, I want to see it for myself. Just hope the Lanewatch resolution could be better.

QUOTE(shanjuen @ Aug 28 2024, 06:03 AM) It seems like CRV is also having the steering rack issue. Alamak. Thought of ordering it next month. This makes me think twice. Mine is scheduled for replacement. Still waiting for parts but somehow, these few days, steering seem to work totally fine.

QUOTE(Old1030 @ Sep 6 2024, 04:49 AM) What the symptom and your car millage bro 10K. When turning the steering, some "sticky" feeling. Or slight momentarily reistance to turn. Normal should be silky smooth

Question on the 1.5T engine. The Oil change interval is supposed to be 10K-km. And I read some people saying the dashboard indicator says differently. What are you experience on this?

QUOTE(Cavino @ Sep 9 2024, 08:59 AM) Turbo engine are based on the dashboard reading, not the standard 10K mileage. That is because ultra hot turbo uses the engine oil as both lubrication and coolant expending its oil properties and quality much faster than NA engine. I would say unlike NA engine where some ppl will drag the schedule, try not to drag the schedule of engine oil change of turbo engine. Once the properties wear out, the risk of damage to both turbo and engine are heighten drastically. So depending on how you tekan and activate the turbo, the oil change schedule changed thus every 1.5T engine has their own oil change schedule based on each car driving style. If RS, then follow the 10K NA engine oil change schedule. So far, my dashboard reading saying the same thing as the manual, 10K. 70% town driving. 30% highway.

QUOTE(Cavino @ Sep 10 2024, 04:40 AM) As long as follow your dashboard, means, you really drive very efficiently. Most ppl I know especially with Civic lasted 8K average. Yes, I read about Civic owner saying less that 10K. My 1st service dashboard says 10K. The next service also says 10K.

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Oct 5 2024, 02:32 AM) My Civic was officially and finally denied warranty by Honda Malaysia after 2nd appeal to them in writing. For windows run channel rubber, due to external tinted. FYI this tinting is a panel in Honda (3M) but in another town which I engage not through dealer. What I speculate here is Honda Malaysia AND whichever dealer you don’t end up getting tinted thru, will give you a permanent black mark and deny you warranty. So it’s serious, they will do it if you don’t let them make extra money. That is to be expected. Some will keep arguing it is OK to do dashcam or tint outside but for peace of mind, I just stick with Honda's. I couldn't be bothered nor the time involved with all those money saving and arguments later.

QUOTE(KingArthurVI @ Nov 17 2024, 06:33 PM) Lots of leftover stocks from the lower end variants so they’re trying hard to clear those stocks. I would recommend staying with V or RS. Personally, the 360 camera is worth it and if getting V the AWD is a big bonus, whereas RS refinement needs no introduction (I think most showrooms demo unit are RS models). I do like the 360 camera but the 5 gen AWD I once tried has unacceptable poor pickup. May be that unit has problem, I wouldn't know. For that reason alone, I went for E spec.

QUOTE(thankyou @ Nov 24 2024, 12:47 PM) Two days ago I've experienced the CRV "jam brake" on behalf of me when I believe my braking point is good enough to stop the car in time... Scare die me... My family was shocked as well... Happened once when the car in front suddenly made a U Turn.

QUOTE(KingArthurVI @ Jan 15 2025, 06:38 AM) As long as your fuel economy is about 13–20km/L you're driving the hybrid right. My old Civic FC averaged 8km/L in the city lol but in the CR-V RS I can do 20km/L if I'm careful and use the paddles to regenerate the battery, and the CR-V is so much bigger and heavier too if you think about it. For it to achieve a smooth acceleration without needing engine to spool up is such an experience. My CRV in town is about 8km/L. So may be you are more heavy footed or the 1.5L Turbo is now more efficient.
