Unlike full EVs, Hybrid electric motor power delivery is not full instant torque as it is tune for efficiency over sportiness. Cannot compare with full EV with huge battery and full motor drive.

Honda tuned the acceleration to provide linear drive rather than explosive. Priority is on fuel economy so the throttle response is deliberately muted.
Full EV no need fuel economy, full electrical power, can floor as much as you like but even then, some eCVT of EV also deliberately controlled the throttle to ensure smooth and linear acceleration.

The funny thing is even in sport mode, the CR-V Hybrid focuses on engine noise simulation rather than true performance tuning. In the end, still first priority is fuel economy.

I have only briefly driven a BYD Atto and the CRV hybrid so my memory is not perfect. And yes, the BYD has instant torque and that was fun. Whereas I don't think the CRV has that and in fact, driving luxury in town with traffic, not too much different from the 1.5T

PS4 are top of a top-of-the-line product, wet grip is the best. Toyo are just mid tyres. If u concern about grip, wet traction, never ever buy Continental tyres, be it UC series or MC series. That brand are not ok for wet traction
*
I too find Continental very bad on wet. CC6 ad UC6

So far, no complaint on the Toyo but then I haven't got chance to compare it to the Michelin.

On the other hand, the previous gen HRV has the worst air cond I encountered.

Coldest AC i had faced are those Campro based Proton car, that was the coldest AC, even night time can make it like sitting inside fridge. Honda car on Accord also cold, putting 25-26 with higher fan speed is enough for me and cold

Conti car, tried latest Peugeot 408, need to put 19-20C only felt cold, same like others Conti brand car.
*
My CRV is even colder than my previous Proton. Whereas the HRV I have is one of the worst.

heard that primacy is a soft tyre. quiet but suffer on handling.

AI's answer

The Michelin Primacy SUV and Toyo Proxes R45 offer different handling characteristics. The Michelin Primacy SUV is generally considered a more balanced and safety-focused tire, while the Toyo Proxes R45 is known for its dry handling capabilities.
Michelin Primacy SUV:

Focus:
Primarily designed for safety and balance, with a strong emphasis on wet and dry grip, as well as safety qualities over dynamic driving.

Handling:
Provides good grip in both dry and wet conditions, but may not be as sporty or responsive in dry handling as the Toyo.
Other Features:
Known for its low noise levels and durability, making it a comfortable and reliable choice for everyday driving.

Toyo Proxes R45:

Focus: Designed for dry handling and performance.
Handling: May offer slightly better dry handling performance compared to the Michelin, potentially with a faster average speed during handling maneuvers.
Other Features: The Toyo Proxes R45 is often associated with a shorter lifespan compared to the Michelin Primacy.

In Summary:
What Should I Know About Toyo Tires vs Michelin? - Opple House
The Michelin Primacy SUV prioritizes overall safety and balanced performance, while the Toyo Proxes R45 is more geared towards dry handling and potentially offers a slightly better dry handling experience

I have the dashcam from Honda. Occasionally, just after engine starts, it will say something about the need to clear the memory. What is that about? And how to go about fixing that? Thanks

in dilemma should topup for crv ehev or just get cross hev. for me and gf daily use only

Depends. How many people in the car etc.

The last time I checked, there is hardly any price difference between normal and hybrid Cross. Whereas there is a 20K difference between normal and hybrid CRV. On price, I will go for Cross

They're two different segment vehicles where Cross is smaller. The CR-V space is humongous, do you really need all that space? Personally I went for CR-V e:HEV because of our first baby and we have a dog. The space is really big and is class-leading. If you don't need that much car, just get the Cross
*
I like spacious car even though most of the time it just for 2 person. One reason I did not get the CX5. It's rear seats not for adults.

Had looked at Cross but opted for the CRV 1.5T 2WD instead. Reasons for me are:

1. I like spacious car even though there are just 2 of us. I like the airy feeling. But not too big for town parking.

2. I can leave the car for weeks without touching it. A friend left his Cross for weeks and couldn't start and have to towed to official workshop to determine which battery the problem. I don't want such trouble. Original CRV battery normally last for 1 yr only.

3. I don't want AWD, if one tire got damaged, have to change at least 2, if not all 4. I hate wasting money.

4. I sometime overtake other cars around 140kph. 1.5T more powerful.

5. For my driving range, the extra cost of Hybrid is enough to pay for 6 years of free petrol.

My opinion. As long as one use the engine oil as listed in the manual (weight and viscosity) and oil change interval, you are never going to experience any engine oil related problem with the engine. The chance of having problem is same as getting strike by lightning. So no need to be too worried about oil issue.

Concur with this statement. Follow manufacturer recommended oil, viscosity, should be safe. Bottom point, max also about 10k km interval service even with Fully synthetic oil used, be it Conti car, most recommended with 15k km interval service with FS oil
*
Me and friends has several turbo diesel and those are tough on engine oil and we have always been using mineral and none of us ever have any engine oil related issues. The only reason I am using 0w20 is because you can't find any mineral oil with those rating and even if there is, best to avoid anyway.

Sorry different topic. What's ur view on 0w16 fully synthetic, in the US more and more cars putting that as recommendations

My opinion. 2 opposing targets.

For sake of fuel consumption, use lower viscosity.

For sake of engine protection, may be not.

I read about fuel dilution problem for the American market. So when I got mine, I check my fuel dip level very carefully and it doesn't rise at all. So my conclusion is, there is unlikely to be fuel dilution issue in our hot climate. Now I just don't bother and just enjoy the drive.

I often remind the service center to NEVER overfill my engine. If they do, more work for them to take it out.

Actually, is the other way around, as the fuel thin out oil and it's easier for oil to get evaporation if when it finally reaches hot temps
I hardly notice any increase or decrease on mine. So I no longer bother to check nowadays.

I have a big butt but feel fine jer… when you said your butt hurt, is it bone pain or muscle sore or what?

I solve the problem by putting a cushion for long distance driving.
