Trapo looks good as advertised when it's clean, but will any dirt or sand be visible once it's dirty? Those coil matt can hide those unsighty dirts though.

In the quick guide. it says the led is for Alarm System Indicator. The car comes with alarm system with immobilizer (i believe)

May be can try, force open and see got siren goes off or not.
*
Force open means, arm it with alarm, and use key to open the door.

Not use ply to force open the door ya, it would be destructive tongue.gif

Today I finally found the time and test driven the new CRV 1.5 TC.

Overall Feel:
The new CRV is powerful (only tried the 1.5TC), and comfortable (the shock absorbed bums and pothole pretty well.) But the engine could be a little loud for my liking. No chance to try the 2.0 version so I couldn't compare. Other than than, cruised on highway for a short distance at 90pkh, the car is stable, can hear some road noise, but the engine is loud. Really love the power of this 1.5 turbo engine, comparable to my 5.2L V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I owned in USA 15 years ago.

The buttons of the steering wheel for phone and cruise are below my expectation, very plsatic, in fact they are plastic!!! But not a deal breaker. Steering is light, but does not feel like leather, very foamy. Reverse camera not as clear as I wished it could be.

Interior space is spacious, love the leather seat, nice design and comfy.

I saw obsidian blue
nice color

Kind of reminds me of the first generation Proton Wira Angkasa blue, I owned one and took good care of the paint job by waxing it. But after a few years I went to USA to study and passed the car to my brother, which he didn't take care of the paint work, and it faded.

Dark color car needs to maintain the paint work by waxing it regularly, else it will fade. mega_shok.gif

Current daily driver is a Civic FD with a well-tuned 1.8 engine that from standstill, feels like a racehorse sprinting out of the gate. Can easily drop a gear, pull out from behind a suddenly slow moving vehicle and overtake rapidly. Press down longer and it clocks 150km/h without vibrations with rpm around 2.5k. This is an 8 year old car and granted it’s a sedan and CSUVs drive differently. I guess I did go in with certain expectation levels as comparing it with the CX-5 & Tiguan, both proving wonderful to zip around town and on highways. Yeah I agree, a 2.0T is more ideal for the CRV.

It’s alright, I agree with most.. The CRV plays to its strength as the space & interior packaging king. Then Honda Sensing with AA & CarPlay got tossed in. So those with such priorities would naturally go for it. There be rumors of the roomier Mazda CX-8 CBU in Malaysia next year.. Interesting times ahead.  brows.gif

May I know what did you do to tune your Civic FD to such a race horse?

I received a call two days ago. It also coincide with my 10K service appointment which I already made for this afternoon. So, when they called me about this recall, they said they needed time to service and so they rescheduled my appointment to morning. I just came back from SC and was told my vehicle was ok, the parts/component checked out fine and as such, no need to change ..  biggrin.gif

edit to add that according to the Service Order, this part is called MOTOR COMP (EPS) and it cost MYR1,900(but no charge as it is a FOC replacement. Just curious that why this component is so expensive, maybe they change the whole motor... ) ..They didn't change mine, the subsequent tax invoice only have "Inspection" as a line item.
*
Is the EPS only apply to model with Honda Sensing? The motor will move the steering when you drive outside the lane?

Mine is not the Honda Sensing model. According to website, it says my model is affected. Upon sending for inspection by the service center, it was ok, not affected.
*
Oh ya, not only Honda Sensing model will have the steering wheel motor (for lane departure), all models has this fatigue alert where if the car feel that you're sleepy, it will vibrate the steering wheel, this is when the EPS motor is used. Hence all models will be affected depending on the batch. Understood.

Hi, out of topic. Did you experienced any rattling/vibration sound from rear side when the car goes on uneven road? Recently driven my parents 2014 CRV and realized that it is quite annoying. Thanks.
*
Is there anything at the back of your parents CRV? Sometimes is what we put inside the car that makes the sound.

Like my wife put a Styrofoam box at the back of the cargo area for her to put fish when she goes to market, that thing squeaks as the car moves, pretty annoying but she asks me why I am so sensitive towards the sound doh.gif
