Panasonic also use Hepa Filter la.... Hepa Filter is like a standard already for purifier. is the technology Nanoe for Panasonic and Plasmacluster for Sharp, that is the only difference and also of course the price as well. Maybe can invest on Xiao Mi? but expensive lol

Why dont go to the third party website from UK? You can choose which allergen you want to filter at all, so that you have the right choose and more clear about it.. thumbsup.gif

You can filter the products here.

Air purifier can use for conditioning room aso. The main purpoe of it is to reduce dust on the environment and aso allergen. If you wan moisture then can use humidfier but air humidifier easy to make the room environment humidy and easy for those allergen to grow. Example the bed ah pillow or those. thumbsup.gif

only UV radiation 2 kill germs bac n virus but also not effectively
the product does not have UVGI in its spec so it is a scam

2 remove VOC in air, they normally use hydroxyl radical
but in household air filter due 2 size constrain, it has been proven tat it is ineffective n might even produce pollutant

just a normal hepa pm 2.5 filter is enough ady

no need research, i got a safety officer ISO certified last time work i hospital with me
these tech r 4 hospital, even big expensive high class hospital struggle financially 2 run tis kind of operation 2 fully cover its ground

n many of them ditch VOC removal product bcauz hydroxyl radical instead of binding with VOC
it bind with other things n create pollutant, the machine is not cheap also

if the device didn't cost at lease RM 40k it is a scam

I heard that it need maintenance every year and the filter cost RM550 , quite a big amount when for long run. Dont think why need to change filter every year. Atmosphere air filter can at least 3- 5 yers depends on environment. hmm.gif

Are you supposed to throw out the filter and change to a new filter every year?

I've just been cleaning the filter to save money.

let me share what I know by reading from the web.

if what u "heard" is true.

there is always pro n con on the 2 different payment methods either leasing (RM95/mth) or outright purchase (RM3,000).

Lets assume for 5 years ownership cost:
if u opt for leasing:

RM95 per month worry free. that's all (oh plus RM200 registration fees)
every 2 months servicing is FOC.

auto debit monthly - RM95 x 12 months x 5 yrs = 5,700
then come advance payment for
1 year - get 5% discount = RM1,083 x 5 yrs = 5,415
2 years 10% discount = RM2,052 x 2.5 times = 5,130

if you terminate your leasing, you need to return the machine back to Coway.

if u opt for outright purchase:

RM3,000 - the ownership is belong to you!
Free 1-year service
RM3,000 + 1 yr free + 4 yrs of servicing cost RM550 each (RM2,200) = RM5,200

u pick 1 considering cashflow, inflation... etc etc...

I just purchased Atmosphere air purifier which can filter almost all the allergens and irritants (with third party cert). The price for outright purchase is RM4770 for member. And maintenance RM550 for 5 years.

RM4770 + RM550 for 5 years = RM5320 nett

Another ways for instalment with zero interest for 12 months:

(RM397.50 * 12 ) + RM550 for 5 years = RM5320 nett

With intelligient monitor. thumbup.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

only UV radiation 2 kill germs bac n virus but also not effectively
the product does not have UVGI in its spec so it is a scam

2 remove VOC in air, they normally use hydroxyl radical
but in household air filter due 2 size constrain, it has been proven tat it is ineffective n might even produce pollutant

just a normal hepa pm 2.5 filter is enough ady

Please visit www.nazmicrobes.com

Uvgi tested not just 3rd party. But by malaysia government. Eliminates odor, voc etcs and of course biological counts like bacteria, viruses and fungus. Filter only trap, it doesnt kill. Amd with uvgi alone ia a failure. Uvgi must come with a proper product design and tested in lab and real situation then only know if it works.

i got myself a sharp plasmacluster 2 days ago. Upon switching it on i notice all the dirt on my ceiling fan was dropping off.

Less headaches during wake up nowadays.

If i get a bigger air purifier like the one covering 60m2 but my room is like 40m2 what happens then ? the air cleans better and faster?

Looks like air purifier are mostly quite expensive, and I guess most do not trust brand from unknown Chinese makers. Would anyone be interested with air purifier that cost RM200 and do not cost much with replacement filters?

and I would also test them out to show the effectiveness.

I am not selling any air purifier, I am just an engineer working in designing and making home appliances, and the technology in air purifier is not so complicated. Those air purifier that cost a lot are mostly in advertising and brand name.

Recently bought a Dyson air purifier (DP04)

Air conditioner I only use it for 2 hours then switch to dryer mode and keep the air purifier switched on.

Does an excellent job at keeping the room cool despite our room being on the 3rd floor.

This is a big change from the Sharp air purifiers we used to use that could never keep it on through the nite as it is noisy and somehow always felt it affects the efficiency of the air conditioners.

Drum like design with cylinder filter...kinda like the Mi Air Purifier. Wondering how effective it is against other brands like Sharp and also the noise level.

Looks like there's not much info about the filter, whether it's HEPA or not. Would you know?

I used Sharp (Plasmacluster), Panasonic (Nano-e) and Hitachi... all costing north or RM2k each.
After a while (9 years since Sharp, 7 years Panasonic) I stop buying the filters because
1. Malas... Sharp have to go to their service center in PJ
2. Cost money

Now I use Venta Air Washer... industrial standard... just add / change water every 2 weeks.
No need air filter, very efficient in Tenaga.

If you on aircon whole night and wakes up with dry skin, throat and all, this really helps. This Venta works like a hired maid continuously grinding the air by pushing it down to the water and let the bubbles lift itself up at the same time the water capturing the dust, pollen... in the water. Simple operation actually, just the price a bit high. The motor's good. It's meant to run whole day in clinics, hospitals and all.

A word of advice, get the white one, the black ones attracts mosquitoes...

how about Coway's?

any good? but expensive it seems...

and is the so-called service justified / worth it? or merely they come n wash the filter only, which we can do....or there are replaceable parts which they cover under the service period?

I would personally recommend to get the Purifier + Dehumidifier - if got budget la. Get rid of heat and air pollutants. hehe

Yeah yeah. People said Purifier 2 and 2s is different.
Bear in mind 2s is just 2 with OLED PM2.5 display (might be inaccurate as well as they are famous for rigged readings)

Hows the maintenance? Filter expensive/commonly available?
*
Depends on how much you use. I was using my sharp during my pet-keeping days, and I changed it every year, since it was kept running almost everyday. It was mainly to suk in the fur.

For the Phillips, I only use it when the weather is bad, so far I have changed the filter once in this couple of years. Lol. I think it's time to check it.

The filters can be bought from Phillips Lazada Mall, below RM200. Or just search in Lazada/Shopee. I usually find even older models there.

This is an interesting website.

https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/how-to-...y-air-purifier/
You dont need expensie filtration nor junk like xiaomi.

Xiaomi air purifier 2 is famous for junk product.

If he is biased he could mention particular brand instead.
Or selling his own brand.

The kind of DIY looks ugly but from his test it looks the most cost effective laugh.gif

This is based on my personal experience of using Mi Purifier 2S. I won't be surprised that there are better brands/models out there, but I think for the price and function of the Mi Purifier, it should do a decent-enough work:

- Can feel the difference in terms of air quality after turning on (I use Manual mode for maximum fan speed in the living room, a bit noisy but bearable)
- Some online articles criticised the the purifier's particle sensor is not sensitive enough and doesn't exceed 50 and above. I have seen more than 200 reading with the recent haze
- the purifier's Auto mode is also criticised for not doing enough purification work and leave the air with high API reading, hence I use it on Manual mode most of the time
- the replacement filter is also fairly easy to get online (Shopee Mi MY official store available)

I have used many air purifiers n humidifiers in the past 25 years.
Panasonic, sharp, Samsung, Toshiba n many others.
The problems I face with all these... Not long lasting, and filter replacement got more expensive n hard to come by or discontinued as time goes by.
Electricity bill might go up as the filters get clogged when used, smelly too.
Eventhough with new filters, it sometimes smell still due to static dusts stuck to the motors or fins inside (usually cannot be cleaned at all). If spoilt, need to buy anew.
Usage Shelf life, usually 2 to 3 years.
Humidifiers bought uses ultrasonic. These mists are not gud in bedroom. It can cause molds on certain books or furniture in long run. This is bcos too much humidity in the air, if on for 24/7.
Calcium build up(whitish powder) and crusted, that kills the ultrasonic unit.
This is my experiences. I do know the importance of air cleaning. Just got into the hype of getting these products over these years. Everytime did not look at those products that costs over 3k or more.

And now, I have just got myself a venta airwasher lw45.
Its German tech using fan n water only.
https://www.venta-luftwaescher.de/lw45-luftwaescher
Promo price at baby fair rm2699
No need to buy filters at all.

I have seen reviews on this same model up to abt 10yrs back.... Still the same tech n design n long lasting.
Pro:
Save on buying filters.
Quiet with only 3fan speeds. At top speed at 8watt of power only. On 24/7.
Humidfy the air proper way, not using ultrasonic mists.

Cons : need to top up depending on the water level.
Clear the water every 2weeks or as needed.(dirty).
Thorough cleaning in 6mths.

Price oso almost the same as other electrical purifiers like sharp at tis promo price. Original 3999

Gonna get the bigger version soon, the lw60 model for my living room.

Another thing I have learned. Clean ur aircon at every 9-12months to remove molds. It will help the air quality, and prevent allergy alot. Never forget. Even getting all these stuffs, if the main culprit still spewing bad air. Never use old aircons, as its filtration can be bad, moldy n high electricity bill. Changing aircon every 5-7 years is a good guide.

Just to share my experiences.

Hi everyone! Help, please! We need a generator for out-of-town trips (one night maximum) , the previous one successfully drowned in lake. Of course, it's possible to repair the old one, but it is about 10 years old, and it's not reliable at least. That's why i need  your advice, guys. My husband don't understand anything about generators, as i do. We've found only one more or less adequate review, and there are 9 generators!!! So we narrowed the circle to 3 generators, and it would be just brilliant if you gave as some advice.
So here we go, we need the most budget variant, but reliability is the main criteria, the second is money, so which of them will be better in our situation?
1. SUAOKI G500 the most expensive, but looks very reliable(may be mistaken)
2. Goal Zero Yeti 400 the middle one
3. Rockpals 300W i don't think, that it will be enough power in this generator, i need your opinion
Help please notworthy.gif , it's very difficult to understand nothing in your man's stuff  bangwall.gif  cry.gif

RM417 in Lazada... RM900+ is a misleading RRP... RRP around RM599 only

Drum like design with cylinder filter...kinda like the Mi Air Purifier. Wondering how effective it is against other brands like Sharp and also the noise level.

Looks like there's not much info about the filter, whether it's HEPA or not. Would you know?

https://www.philips.com.my/c-p/AC0820_30/se...00-air-purifier

i think is HEPA filter , can filter 99.5% of PM2.5 and PM0.3.

How to know how big/how many units is needed for a house with 1000sf?

If you are looking to put in your room, you can consider a small one.

If most of the time you are at living room or your room has a bigger space, can consider something like this.
