Get a HD-DVD player! Probably will get the normal DVD for it. Wasn't a fan of the movie.

But Paramount going HD-DVD exclusive is drooling prospect. Look at their upcoming titles!

They have Beowulf, Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, Iron Man, Indiana Jones!

i believe now is not the time to keep with a single format
each with their exclusives, will ahve the both of them battle it out, the better for us consumers, if fox and others jump over , gone case

I differ. I rather they just decide and jump even if it is not the choice that I have made.

Not everyone can afford to look at both formats for the exclusives. So I rather they stick to one. And when they do, hardware manufacturers can also stick to one, mass produce the player and prices will go down.

Video shops will finally know which one to stock up and then pricing will also stabilise because it won't be a niche thing. At least thats what I believe tongue.gif

true also makes sense tongue.gif, but wen only one product, monopolise the market, won it increase and control its pricing? as u can see, ori dvd is still quite high priced in the US

I always thought of it as economy of scale. Right now, its niche so they mark up so the profit margin remains for them.

If more people adopt the format, more sales, they can lower the price and go for quantity to get the same or even higher profits. Hard to say which view is correct - whether single format or dual format.

But I would say Ori DVDs in this country is more affordable now. I picked up Constantine ystd for RM29.90 tongue.gif
