Limbayung is HOT now. Almost everyone in Oil&Gas industry are talking about it.
*
But Limbayong is only FPSO right? No CPP?

And is it fair to say MISC is in pole position for the FPSO (and MMHE for the fab/conversion)?

Ok.. Now is time to submit your CV to Technip FMC.
.
Last year they did FEED for BP.. and now they been awarded with EPCIC FPSO Project..

https://mobile.offshoreenergytoday.com/bp-h...hmeyim-project/

From my knowledge, Technip never done EPCIC of FPSO accept for FEED, module, SURF and engineering.
.
Did I missed any of their FPSO project? 🤔
*
Can Technip fabricate the FPSO on their own, or likely get someone else like their local partner MMHE to do it?

Anyone heard about the Gumusut-Kakap Phase II Extension Subsea Manifold project that was awarded to Technip and onwards to MMHE? Is this considered a major project, or just a minor one? Apparently they should be finishing works on this already.

KPOC sues MMHE for RM125mil. But I wonder, why is one Petronas-linked company suing another Petronas-linked company? And in such a case, who's got the stronger argument?

Also seems to be old contract from back in 2011.

The interesting bit: "KPOC, in its Notice of Arbitration, claims that MMHE was and is in breach of the express and/or implied terms of the Contracts in respect of the supply of certain valves."

Can anyone translate that for a layman? Does anyone know anything more about this dispute?

KPOC is a JV entity, its not a wholly owned subsidiary of Petronas, KPOC comprises of Shell, ConocoPhillip and Petronas.

Nothing wrong in this legal action anyway.

“Nothing wrong”...meaning? It has legs?

so MMHE in turn can sue the supplier if it can prove the valves are imitation valves.
*
But really, disregarding all these money lawsuits...if there is a safety issue due to the non-performance of the valve, who is "responsible" for it? MMHE or the supplier? Doesn't MMHE need to sign-off on the works done or valves provided by the supplier? Very bizarre as Kebabangan is a major project and hard to believe KPOC will file a claim lest they have solid grounds for it.

Sharporjee with MTC and FIP with M3nerhy

Is Limbayong in Sabah waters or Brunei waters?

Based on this map, it’s adjacent to Gumusut.

Afaik Limbayong is in Malaysian (i.e. Sabah) waters fully.

not yet.. bidding extend till mid of april

Why bidding was extended? I understand this has three major portions: 1) FPSO charter/ops 2) Topside fabrication 3) Tanker conversion

Is the mid April due date for all 3? Who's the likely favourites?

I've never heard anyone talk about Yinson...anyone got work there or know people that do?

I am totally impressed how they managed to grow so much to become a powerhouse between 2015-2018, a time at which the oil industry was at its all time low! In fact Yinson and Bumi Armada are moving in the totally opposite direction. Oh how the turntables...!

Hopefully sooner.

The upstream industry needs a new CPP/FPSO.. Maybe Limbayong FPSO? Or some small wellheads..
*
I believe Kasawari will be significantly larger in scale compared to anything we’ve seen in recent times, Limbayung included.

As for Kelidang, what’s the latest? Last I heard Petronas wanted a FPU but not sure if tender was called.

Seems like the players are diversifying. MMHE JV gets a 5 year integrated turnaround maintanence on mechanical static contract from Petronas for all their plants group wide. Not too sure about the Singaporean partner, Hiap Seng Engineering Ltd.

Limbayong bid as I know is closed end of this month.

Yes award is Sept 2019, but there may delay to Dec 2019 if got issue.
*
Why award so long after tender close? As I know mainly for local players only.

Is this due to Malaya and Sabah / Srwk issues?

Told you earlier 😜😜😜

Misc works with Yinson.
*
Not bad. Something new and interesting. Cements Yinson's position as one of the big boys now!

Btw, if Sofec gets the turret, likely to be fabricated at MMHE as well. Petronas will not want to give most of the fabrication to MMHE so I think turret will not go to Sofec.

"Good luck" to Bumi Armada in partnering with an Indian company. It will be a battle of who knows the contracts by heart.  sweat.gif
*
Bumi already has two long-running and successful JV's with this Indian company. So I foresee no issue. Plus this time the Indian company had to shoulder 70% of the JV due to Bumi Armada's weak financial position.

MMHE awarded to fabricate FSO Sao Vang Dai Nguyet (SVDN) Project?
They invite subcontractors to bid.
No wonder in Linkedin post about jobs in FPSO project in malaysia. Might be for this project...Since Vietnam and Malaysia JV Company are become Client.
*
I recall someone mention about this some months ago but it has not been reported anywhere in the news or posted by MMHE? Why is that so?
