They said petronas is holding too much power and control of the operator here. Petronas prefer smaller company, easier to control.

Bro, all must exercise restraint. If we think we are sick, we should not go.

if the thing keeps on spreading, we cannot work for a long time.
*
because i having sore throat since last sat, no fever. the irritation is worse at night. no contact PUI or confirm case

Already work from home. But offshore travel is business essential, so cannot excuse.

If you have symptoms don't travel offshore. The OIM will understand, it's part of EHS/HSE/SHE
Get well soon!

going out for major turnaround for start up activities... i have read my company policy is any symptom should just stay at home. But there is also a disclaimer that says unless it is bussiness essential or deemed critical.. dunno who to refer to know, my line manager ask me find out myself.

offshore still jalan. Here no ppl do social distancing, altho onshore GM say POB to be kept at minimum, but the barge is 500 POB now, where is the minimum? and social distancing, where got social distancing? when at site so congested, lagi the kapal is sharing bunk bed and toilet, lagi worse those crew is common toilet and bathroom. THey wan to chase time for turnaround, so when it comes to production, production first, safety later. Or what they say, they can manage the risk and put frontline ppl at risk. I think fly kite only they say safety.

do you fully aware on the safety requirement set forth before allowing them to go offshore?
*
yeah, everyone declare healthy then come and work. u know those construction crew is mostly daily paid, they are the sole breadwinner. Unless they have sign of fever which only temperature are being monitored. they will just makan ubat and tahan the symptom.

TTJT-A Infill Project & BNJT-K Infill Project, all work progress at TTJT-A & BNJT-K put onhold and team has to undergo Self-quarantine for 14 days starting from today. This is due one of Naga 6 rig crew +ve COVID-19

Anyone can confirm this news?
*
confirmed. That's why i said, still asking ppl to go offshore vessel is just a time bomb ticking. i believe the whole rig people will get infected as well, eat shit sleep at same place, holding the same door handle, same handrail for so many days. Now those ppl kesian have to quarantine on the rig cannot come back, then if got ppl symptom got worsen at offshore how? Medivac? The chopper they dare to fly or not? who take care of the personnel who is in serious condition due to covid-19 at offshore? the medic?

i think they talk safety here there but when it comes to production, every risk is manageable. I am now having chronic unease over this makes me cannot sleep. but start up coming up soon, i have no choice but have to stay offshore. Everyday CSR say social distancing, at side u wear ear plug, how to social distancing when u wan to talk? everybody talk using walkie talkie? i don even see they disinfect the walkie- talkie. How about the swing rope? no disinfect also.

The efficient way is to do swab tests before sending people to offshore, not just based on symptoms.
Silent carriers didn't show any symptoms.
*
swab test on the spot? that test take time to get result bro. I agreed, but now all they do is check temp only.

QUOTE(kk131 @ Mar 25 2020, 01:31 PM)
The HVAC system in the quarters is recycling the air with probably 10% make-up from outside. The virus is very small, whether a HEPA filter (if any) in the AHU would be effective? I suspect this is the main reason why there are so many infections on cruise ships (same HVAC design). I've worked on LQ design/construction projects where we designated a couple of cabins where the return air vent could be closed and the cabins vented directly outside, these were designed for isolation in case of an epidemic. Covid-19 spreads so fast and anyone infected is shedding virus prior to the onset of symptoms that it must be very difficult to stop spread in an offshore situation.
*
yes, because even for common flu, or cough, when 1 ppl cough, next few days 50% ppl will cough.

Correct with some backlog to clear and finger crossed for the new award.

so tis year good time to save and hoard cash for next year. Pray hard there wont be another 2014 coming lol. That time crash was much harder because everyone is overspending their budget. i was there for 2014, so can see got diff. the dept used to have 60 personnel regular and contract staffs, now 10+ only.

It does sound weird

Remember last year they were talking about selling their downstream assets to Murphy Oil or some MOC

And their Guntong campaign was postponed a few times

Not sure which side the vacancies come from
*
if u dunno Exxonmobil global solutions is now based in Malaysia. Just like last time Shell punya is in KL but now move to India already. Thats why u see previously they hire malaysia graduate from uni all over the world. so the upstream can sell but the global solutions team still can be here .
