I dont understand why you didnt get the message. Exxon is leaving Malaysia for good, pending sale of its asset. Why would they want to maintain 2 small business units in Malaysia when they are no longer in Malaysia and moreover they can transfer both units to some other countries that Exxon is operating.

They offered VSS to mostly the veterans in a move to maintain “younger” pool of staff.

But VSS package was good, especially to those who have worked in the company for many years.

Last time I asked a friend who’s in Worley senior mgmt, he said the job should be awarded by year end.

So that they will get cheaper Senior PE on contract basis than the ones they let go!

Over 200 ppl applied for the post. Obviously they don’t know the low morale atmosphere that is prevalent in that company now.

Guys I got an offer from Modec. Problem is, its a different position from what I applied.

In your experience, is it better to go in and apply for transfer later, or wait for another vacancy in my desired position?

about salary, just demand higher as far as u can.
cz the salary will be stagnant, for contract renewal. unless u got better offer, then project is urgent, then only management try to counter.
many people cabut cz salary not increase even RM1 for 3-4 years contract renewal. most of them jump to Dayang KL, get salary increment (20-30%)

btw offshore allowance still at RM90/day in Petra. average going offshore around 30days per trip.

dayang nowadays at RM100/day & RM150/day for 3 years working there above.

Sapura at RM200/days offshore, MMHE at RM250/day offshore.

do remember to demand salary abit with petra.

Sapura Energy Berhad (Sapura Energy) has secured three new contracts and two contract extensions worth approximately RM774 million, bringing the value of its cumulative contract wins year-to-date to about RM3.1 billion.

Sapura Energy has been strengthening its presence in core markets. With these new wins, the Group will be executing works in Malaysia, Thailand and Brunei.

Sapura Fabrication Sdn Bhd (Sapura Fabrication) has been awarded a contract from Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) for the provision of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) works for the Salman Project in Brunei. The project is divided into two parts consisting of the Salman greenfield scope and the Egret East greenfield scope.

The Salman greenfield scope entails EPCI works and support for hook-up, pre-commissioning and commissioning of wellhead platform and substructures, pipelines and umbilical, water and chemical injection module, along with a construction yard upgrade. The Egret East greenfield scope consists of Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) services with an optional EPCI scope for wellhead platforms, substructures and pipelines.

In Malaysia, Sapura Fabrication was awarded a contract from PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for the provision of Procurement, Construction, Hook-up and Commissioning (PCC), and start-up works of BNJTK BN-84 well tie-in for Bardegg-2 and the Baronia Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Development Project.

For its Drilling segment, Sapura Drilling Asia Limited has secured a contract with PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited for the provision of its tender-assist drilling rig, Sapura T-17, for the Bongkot gas field in the Gulf of Thailand.

Meanwhile, Sapura Drilling Asia Sdn Bhd has been awarded a contract extension by PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for the provision of its semi-submersible tender-assist drilling rig, Sapura Berani. The contract entails the drilling of five additional wells in Erb West, offshore Sabah and the Dulang facilities, offshore Peninsular Malaysia.

In addition, Sapura Drilling Sdn Bhd was awarded a one-year contract extension by BSP for the provision of its semi-submersible tender-assist drilling rig, Sapura Pelaut.

Theoretically, SapuraOMV which is the E&P segment should be making money but based on the latest financial report just released on Friday, it's loss making. Weird!
