Not sure. Heard they did not secure any projects here.

Mainly business on offshore vessels.
Main operator umbrella contract also lost the WO inside it.
Almost won 1

Nowadays, the oil & gas situation only good for clients side only, they get cheaper project while the contractor absorbing the risk mainly. Price for huc project drop vs 2010-2014 era.
Those in Huc know now no more lucrative price for project engagement. All fight for getting the project, now all company give low base price to get it. When thing dont go to the plan, it will absorb the base price and basically using money to complete the project.

For ikan bilis staff, a lesser and lesser chance to get permanent, more chance to let go if things don't go well.

The Operators squeeze all contractors so that they can give more to the government.

It's a good thing the crude price remains above USD70 during this covid19 pandemic that allowed oil&gas business to continue to bring money to the country. Else Petronas will have to scrape the bottom of its piggy bank to help govt run the country.

need to ask gomen to revert back to gst then. keep korek oil money will not doing good in long run

Some companies still lowballing people.
A friend of mine was offered more than 15% less than his current pay at M*E (Oil and gas Consulting firm).

He clearly rejected them. Not sure how they intend to attract staffs for the position with reduced salary offer.
*
That Puchong based office never known for high pay.

How would the HIGHER price of crude oil be the reason?

Shouldn't this actually be all the more reason a project should be fast tracked?

I've not heard of a project not going ahead because of price of crude oil (which lets be honest, can be up and down as it pleases).

for projects nowadays, companies need to allocate more for quarantine budgets. Hotel, swab, transport (flight price gile now especially klia-labuan/miri/bintulu), kapal quarantine which follow too many changes in sop, some need 14, some 21 days etc.
as always, most cost need to be absorbed by the Contractor. Client says not in contract

QUOTE(ZZMsia @ Dec 7 2021, 08:51 PM)
On Monday (Dec 6), UOB KayHian downgraded its call on Sapura Energy to "sell" and cut its target price to three sen (from 10 sen).

"We foresee further selling pressure [on Sapura Energy] given rumours of its distress and urgency to sell assets have reached main oil and gas newspapers, the timeline to review covenant waivers is nearing, a low likelihood of selling assets at a decent price, continued losses, and potentially lower leverage to renegotiate covenants after changes in key personnel.

"While developments may be choppy, we assume a worst-case bankruptcy scenario," the research house said.

UOB KayHian added that depending on developments, there is a chance that selling pressure may persist when markets start to price Sapura Energy similar to other PN17 O&G stocks (which also faced covenant breaches, liquidity issues or loan defaults).

On Dec 2, global energy news portal Upstreamonline reported that cash-strapped Sapura Energy looked to have been dealt a blow by failing to qualify for Petroliam Nasional Bhd's prized Kasawari phase two front-end engineering and design contract, with the contractor's financial woes said to be a determining factor.

Many of my friends colleagues had left them since early to mid this year. How to proceed for project execution when management not paying the vendor as per contract, and all them put handbrake

QUOTE(abgkik @ Jan 24 2022, 11:03 AM)
According to Anuar (CEO), Sapura Energy has accumulated RM460 million in Covid-19-related costs, which are being claimed from clients.

“As a whole, the cost of Covid-19 was RM460 million, but the impact on contract costs to us was two to four times higher … So imagine, those are the costs that I incur and that have not been paid. So what does it do to the P&L? That’s negative cash flow going out, nothing in,” he says.  sad.gif

not sure what the future hold for sapura company? Will there be any restart back after this?
